Huntington Tavern reviews
12 Only stopped in for lunch but noted the facilities are quite roomy and well appointed, good menu (specials available) at reasonable price considering location, high level of friendly service and good quality of meals. They even have Valhalla ice cream. Fair selection of on-tap and other beverages. Huge beer garden, which was very pleasant to have a cold in the sunshine.
I had the fisherman's feast with trevalla which was generous, well-prepared and fair value. One of two (?) groups in for lunch so kitchen was not under the pump, I would say.
I did not attend but it appears to be the central community hub and there are regular events through the week.
Recommended and would visit again on my next visit to Kempton.
Wow, what an amazing hidden gem, well worth a visit.
We started with Cobb loaf and duck s/rolls. Then 2 of us had the seafood feast, large piece of Blue eye in a lovely crispy batter, unfortunately the calamari wasn't available, but that was made up with extra, (our choice) of scallops, plump and juicy & prawns, served w/chips & salad.
Hubby had steak & rib combo
5 pork ribs fall apart tender, and rump, delicious meals, great service.
Check out the menu!
Highly recommend.
Hidden gem steak cooked to perfection ribs falling apart great place to stop plus free camping just 5 minutes walking. Hopefully more this kind of places for travelers.
Very friendly service from the gentleman, delicious food and well priced. Will stop again
From Launceston
Thank you
Always unsure when ordering S&P calamari.will it be rubbery etc.
This was so very tender, with just the right amount of salt & pepper and the chips weren't pre-salted in the kitchen YAY!
Fresh, crisp salad too!
Fabulous customer service, relaxed atmosphere and loved the food.
Would definitely recommend
I ordered a 400g rump steak, and a 400g rump steak arrived. Coming from the mainland, it's a great surprise.
Great food. Chicken schnitzel was moist on inside and crispy crumb. Large serves.
Busy aswell. Highly recommend
(Also fab freecamp down the road)
The staff are so friendly in this tucked away little tavern, definitely worth the visit. Food was hearty.
I was recently at the Huntington Tavern following a local football game. My friends and I were interested in having dinner here. Before we ordered, I asked where the disabled toilet was? I was told by the barman that they don't have one because the tavern was built during the 1980's. Really poor response and excuse for lacking access in 2022. I had to drive up the road to a local service station to use the toilet. Following this, my friends and I left Kempton, we will never return to this establishment and the Tavern missed out on a further $300-$400 in revenue.
We arrived at the Tavern to have lunch- it is the only establishment in town where you can eat. They advertise lunch from 12pm to 2pm and we arrived at 12.55pm. Asked for a table for 2. There were 2 such tables vacant. We were told that the chef had a backup of meals. We said we were in no hurry so could wait. The lady went out to the kitchen to check and came back to tell us they couldn't accommodate us! I said are you joking? I was met with a sorry! I only wonder if the owner of the Tavern knows this is going on? Very disappointing experience: (
Top place, great food, very accommodating and lovely staff. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back
Great friendly staff, fantastic food; had a parma on parma night (Wednesday night) which was great as well as a roast of the day (Gf as my girlfriend is gluten intollerant), free pool and darts, all around great pub.was lucky enough to meet the owner who was a great guy and gave us some local tassie places to go to as travellers! Would recommend 100%
staying at the local free (donation) powered campground walking distance down the road
