Hokkaido Sushi reviews
37Excellent Japanese style food, especially love the sushimi. The staff friendly and helpful, I did an online order for collection, everything was ready for the time I wanted, all fresh and delicious!
We were too lazy to go into town for good sushi so thought we’d give this place a try…$90 for two people and food full of msg felt sick after. Next time we’ll make the trek into town, we need some good sushi on the eastern shore!
The temperature of sushi rice is weird. Regular temperature of the ones on track. However, the sushi rice is hot in gunkan when the order is placed. Almost no service, no polite words.
Disgusting.
We ordered from the ipad.and stated we wanted our food made fresh.they immediately took them off the sushi train and blow torched the food and gave them to us.disgusting.i was violently ill (that was only food i had eaten all day so know 100% i was sick from this food i had eaten.) and my poor lil son was stomach aches and diarrhoea for 2 days.
WHY ISN'T THE FOOD ON THE TRAIN
REFRIGERATED? When they make up fresh plates, they just put them on the top of the older plates of food and these plates are going around on this train for hrs.yukk.food poisoning guaranteed.
SAME AS THE HOBART AND GLENORCHY RESTAURANTS TOO. DISGUSTING.
WE WILL NOT BE BACK OR RECOMMEND
THESE FOOD RESTAURANT'S. YOU HAVE LOST OUR BUSINESS!
Always made fresh when I’ve ordered.
Ordered from the Glenorchy one and it tasted like it had been sat there all day. The venue looks very clean and fresh.
Definitely has me craving more!
Only thing I would like to see improved is listing the ingredients on the menu.
Enjoyed the sushi train delicious and fresh, it's a choose your own adventure of sushi.
All dishes seemed well prepared and I enjoyed every single plate. 8 in total, turns out I can eat a lot of sushi.
Extremely poor food handling. Staff was preparing dishes and grabbing food with no gloves on after touching everything in the restaurant.
Service is poor - staff all looked unhappy with working there.
Taste is moderate, brought down by mushy rice and stale ingredients
The only positive is the Price.
The food is tasty, but really bad customer service experience here.
The stuff kept talking about how she hates customers keep ordering food which is not on the train so that she needs to make them. The last order time is 8: 15, but we only ordered our food around 7: 50. Her improper, loud and rude words ruined our dining experience.
Horrible sushi.
Certainly didn't taste fresh.
Some I didn't even touch, looked old and fly hanging around.
Very disappointed.
We love eating here as it is a bit of fun and the sushi is always fresh and my daughter loves it. The service is fine, if not a bit sporadic, and the atmosphere is good for a place pretty much packed with kids and people eating fast.
I do not recommend eating from the take away selection. Both daughters ended up with violent food poisoning after eating here.
Not a big fan of Japnese food but it worth visiting. Their automation in choice of food and its instant delivery, was remarkable.
Delicious, easy and casual.
We had a range of dishes, tuna sashimi, Hobart roll, Sapporo premium beer and delicious Ginza shirokoji cold sake and miso soup to finish. Sooo, so good.
Easy ordering from a tablet, and selecting from the sushi train dishes at a set price.
Oh, so good. Highly recommended.
I have been this Hokkaido Sushi a couple of times but my experience yesterday was so bad. I came with my 1yo daughter and my husband, we were arranged the family table with the highchair put in the corridor. A staff tripped over the highchair which scared my daughter, luckily she was not hurt but she was so scared. This can be a serious accident if she was holding something hot like ramen or soup. The same staff then fell all the sushi plastic covers the second time when she walked pass our table. I don't think it is suitable to use this highchair if it is very likely that people will trip over and the highchair should not be placed at the corridor which is next to the kitchen. I was not aware of this at the very beginning when we were arranged the seat but I have to write this to let all parents know if you bring your little one to this restaurant, please pay 100% attention to the staff and where you sit. I am not happy with the experience at all.
Walked in the restaurant, felt like I owed them half billion dollars from the way they stared me. Sit for some plates of sushi while hearing the staffs judging the customers (yes I understand the language), then I turned away immediately. Suggestion: quit the job that u r not happy with, people are innocent
Yummy food with reasonable price. Limited choice on the train but easy order system on the seat. Sashimi is really fresh. Good dining experience. Will definitely recommend. Aburi scallop is soooo good.
Asked chef about dietary restrictions, didn't know if mayonnaise (which seems to be in most of the dishes there) had dairy in it. Was told, "I don't know the specific ingredients". No offer to find out which would have vastly increased dishes I could eat. It wasn't at all busy. Yes, I could have pushed / insisted, but chef didn't seem to care. Ate the two dishes that were safe to eat and left. The dishes themselves were OK.
Very pleasant casual dining experience at this branch. 10-15 waiting time expected. Affordable prices for authentic sushi. Staff are seen constantly work really hard ensuring that everything is stocked up/clean, and get orders to customers fast.
Sushi is always a nice choice for summer days especially its 31 degree today! However the air conditioning in the shop wasn’t enough, it was quite warm in the shop.
Hokkaido has quite a lot range of sushi to order, but we don’t recommend the hot food. The chicken katsu curry rice was spoilt, it tastes weird and sour. The rice was too watery.
Love this place! Staff are friendly and restaurant is clean. The rewards system is a bonus too!
