Hobart Workers Club reviews
19Really like how all the gambling is discretely off to one side, excellent pool tables, nice large room. Joined on the spot.
The new venue is ok apart from trying to get a park in the middle of the CBD as it's a total pain.
The service is really good and the staff are really friendly.
The food isn't bad but isn't great either. Serving sizes are quite good but the quality is lacking. The chips seemed to be cooked in old fryer oil and the chicken parmigiana had a terrible flavour similar to cumin. Not sure if it's the sauce or they add that spice but it tastes terrible. We will continue to go there for drinks but whoever is running the kitchen needs to pay more attention.
It was years ago that I last came here.and that was only to really play a few games of pool and have a couple of beers.
This time around I decided to have a meal so I went for the Hawaiian Schnitzel with and extra gravy on the side and a pint. It all came to about $38 (the gravy being extra) which turned out to be very good value. The wait time wasn't very long (which was good as I was very hungry) and served by a very friendly waitress.
If you're not a member it's nit a big deal, simply sign the guest book at the bar and away you. It was clean with a comfortable atmosphere I inside. I didn't use the toilet but would have to assume they'd be more than adequate. There us parking on Liverpool Street right out front or nearby with the best thing being no parking payment required after 6pm.perfect for dinner time.
Helpful bar staff let us in for dinner when they had a tournament evening and were booked out.
Delicious meal.
Clean and friendly atmosphere, excellent 8-ball tables (4) and a wide selection of beverages.
Lovely hospitality and great food. Thank you for making us feel so welcome as guests from the mainland?
They really welcomed us here. The menu is affordable and varied. Good portions. You can even play a kind of lotto while you eat which was fun. Only warning is be sure to order your puddings early because kitchen closed very promptly and nobody tells you so we missed out on puddings. Would recommend that you try here for food as it is one of the best value places around the area
Busy old fashioned bar. Went to a social gathering with about 50 people and everyone seemed happy with the service.
Late night adventures needing s pub open and this lovely lady waited for us to taxi in this was absolutely lovely of her so big thank you
Great place to hang out with friends especially they provide the discount for members. Great place to catch up with friends. We love reasonable cheap drinks.
Missing the place - the good fellowship - the Bar - the Food and the Staff.
I'll be back as soon as possible!
Chips were badly cooked and the burger was ridiculously dry. The service was good and its very large. Good for groups.
Great place. Been a member for years until I relocated interstate.
A return to Hobart is not complete without catch up beers at the HWC.
Ok for a meal but make sure that it's hot food your getting when you are ordering a cooked meal was there for Xmas lunch and it was cold.
The club is far to much devoted to Tote at all times. What should have been a pleasant lunch was ruined by racing played far to loud in speakers in bar area
Good value meals, great bar service, quick pub meals and pool table. Easy for a pub meal with colleagues or mates
Had a plate of fish and chips with salad for $10, great place to watch footy. Spent quite some time playing their free snooker.
Friendly service. However as I walked in. I had the impression that everyone thought Brad Pitt walked in.
To the chef don't just defrost the veggies and serve it on the plate. Give it some flavour. Please.
Staff was great, room nice and tidy, but 20 minutes after I had the scallops and a cider I was as sick as a dog.
