Very clean simple rooms. Bed comfortable and had the Best sleep.
Owners very accommodating and obliging

The people running this joint interrupted us on our first night to come down to the lobby and sort out an 'issue' with our booking. Another group had come in who had supposedly reserved the beds that we'd been sold at the front desk mere hours beforehand (notwithstanding we also had a booking) and management decided that either our group or theirs would need to pay to upgrade to a private room. Never mind that it was completely their fault they'd sold more beds than they had and never mind the other group may have had no option at that time of night to try elsewhere. I have no idea why they even involved our group other than to create a 'bad guy' in the situation who wasn't them. Not much short of extortion and they refused to listen to any reasonable argument or compromise. The other group wound up, through no fault of their own, paying for an upgrade to two single rooms.

Take your business somewhere where management aren't manipulative and dishonest.

Nice, clean place to stay at good price! Kitchen and common areas are good places to just chill out. Staff are friendly, only downside is a bit of street noise at night but it was a Saturday night! Would definitely stay again.

We had a great experience staying at this place. The people are friendly and helpful and close to everything. The rooms are clean, comfortrable and reasonably priced. Highly rexommended

Beautiful rooms in a central location in walking distance to all of Hobart best sights, incredibly affordable.
The staff is very helpful and friendly and a fully functional shared kitchen with fridges, toaster, sink, stove and cutlery was very handy.
Highly suggest staying here and hope to do so again myself!

Great location just outside of the shopping erea but just a 5 min walk to the center. The staff where very quick and friendly. The room was just big enough for the both of us but thats what we know and payed for. We could hear our neigbours from time to time but had the feeling the walls wheren't thin at all. The bed slept really good, nice matras and it made no sound what so ever. The bathroom looked very clean. The room also had a heater. The shared kitchen didn't look that clean unfortunately and was a bit cluttered. All in all we had a great stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

Everyone was friendly and considerate. Room was ready for me and good value for the price. I shared a ladies dorm and each one of us respected the privacy (and need for sleep), of the others. The staff were helpful over the four days of the stay.

Old and outdated everywhere. Bathroom/toilet floor was always wet. The light is on a timer that goes off within 2-3 minutes and won't come back on unless you're right underneath so no good if you're in the toilet or shower. WiFi doesn't reach the dorm room. The bed was comfy though. Better hostels in Hobart for less money.

The staff is really nice, friendly, n helpful. Place is clean n quiet. Kitchen is accommodating. The only issue might be the light in the shower room, which is automatically turned on and off, so at night if you need to take some time in the toilet/shower room, the light might turn off when you're not even done. If you're afraid of the dark, it can be quite scary. But overall, I have no issue. Will recommend this place to my friend:)

Clean hostel located close to Hobart shopping, business and entertainment districts with competitive prices.

I was there for 2 nights. Best location. Walkable distance to the centre and most attractions. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Kitchen had all facilities. Bathroom maintenance could be improved.

This place is amazing! Staff is so kind and approachable. Clean and comfy place, close to everything.

Best backpacker's is probably the best in Hobart, in that the Italian owner is very nice and genuine, it is not like a typical backpackers where it is loud all the time on the opposite note it was very quiet and I really had a good experience there.

Receptionists were friendly. Expensive stay but clean and quiet. They gave me a towel for free use. Unfortunately a good experience got flipped round when the receptionist told me to go to the wrong bus stop for my next destination of travel and I missed my bus because of it losing out on a days work and having to spend another night in a hostel which was 10$ cheaper but a fair bit dirtier.

Owner is very friendly and accommodating. Very relaxed atmosphere. They don't tolerate trouble makers

Second visit in two years for multiple nights. Always been a good experience. Tony and his staff are friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean, quiet and in a good location.

I was assaulted at this hostel by an indian couple with bruises and scratches sighted by police. The owner Tony was very rude and no help when it come to resolving the problem after it was in my best interest not to stay there. I will NOT support this business again

Clean place.
But my room was very close To the kitchen, and I almost didn't sleep, because of the noise!
