Hertz Car Rental Launceston Airport reviews
20 Absolutely thrilled with the service at this car hire spot! Jess and Coleen were absolute lifesavers, going the extra mile to help us out while giving us a generous discount.
They were super flexible and accommodating, especially considering we needed a car at short notice. Their effort saved our holiday!
I highly recommend this place if you're looking for top-notch service and reliability.
Hired a 12-seater HiAce. It was a good van and was fit for purpose. The staff at the airport were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was positive, except when I received a bill for a chip in the windscreen 10 days after the van had been returned. A chip that was so small it was barely noticeable in any photos provided by hertz. I could not prove if it occurred during our time with the van because it was so small it didn't show up in any of the pics I took. The bill came to $50 on the dot, which also seems a bit suss to me. This soured my experience somewhat.
Hertz car rental is available immediately after you come out from the exist gate and ready to collect your checked in luggage. These car are available after taking immediate left turn. Fast pickup and key delivery to at the counter. Staff is very supportive and helpful.
Make sure you check the Km's the vehicle has travelled prior to and after the hire. Charged me for traveling 604 km's for a 7 hour hire.we only did 112km (we had 200km free)
5/5 to Jacque for patiently answering all my questions and explaining the whole process of picking and dropping the car.
Booking the car online was easy and I was able to choose the best option for me. Happy with the cleanliness of the car that I got.
I had originally book Nissan X-trail but I got Kia Carnival which is a great car as well with plenty of space.
Hertz/Thrifty/Dollar have the same counter right next to the baggage arrivals.
If you have to contact these guys for anything, you could be waiting for hours. I had to call more than 10 times to get a simple invoice email.
Vehicles are good, service from one lady in particular on two separate occasion was terrible.incredibly rude. First time I out it down to someone having a bad day, we all have them. Came again for work a few months later, same lady same ole cranky boots person she was!
OUTSTANDING!
Ben and Jay from HERTZ Launceston Airport were terrific. A mixup had occurred with our baby car seat bookings from a booking agency and the car seat was booked to be installed as frontward facing instead of rearward facing. Jay did all he could to organise someone to help out and even asked if Ben could come in.
Ben came in ON HIS DAY OFF to help us out. Absolutely no obligation for him to do that but he did and reinstalled the car seat and even switched it up for a better one.
Take it from myself and my wife, when you’re stressed after a long day of driving, waiting and flying with a 9 month old, this is the kind of service that helps you end the day on a real happy note.
Thanks again for the help Ben and Jay. You guys set the tone for what real customer service is about and putting it beyond just business and being about truly helpful to someone in a pickle.
We had a great time with the FORD EVEREST we got. The drop off return was so easy. It's a short walk to the Departures and most of it is covered also from the weather.
Staff were excellent. Car was clean & perfect for our needs. However there seems to be an indiscretion / misunderstanding as to how much rebate we were supposed to get back after paying the extra $$$ for zero excess incase of an accident.
BE AWARE OF INSURANCE TRAP. Paid extra $200 for zero excess. Zero = $9900. Zero excess was confirmed in online contract but when I get to counter at Launceston I am told that if I damage the car while on unsealed road I am liable for $9900. This is not zero excess as sold to me and ruined our holiday as so many places in Tasmania have unsealed roads to the main tourist spots. Disappointed with deceptive behaviour by a major car hire company. I would not have hired if I was informed at time of booking online.
I called and confirmed an automatic ute and then received confirmation via email that the automatic ute had been booked. I don't drive manual so only booked with Hertz as they indicated this would be fine. Pick up the keys on the day - go to the car and it's manual. No auto ute available. Customer service person blamed the booking system (not that I was blaming them personally) - it doesn't matter to me how your system is flawed but it is obviously flawed. If you can't get this right I'm sure there are many other things that go wrong.
Purely because there is no way of contacting them to find out how I pick up my car if my late evening flight is delayed
Lady in the office was super friendly and helpful. Proceeded with the booking via the call centre. Operator rude and unhelpful. Limit of 100km per day very restrictive. Tow bar on vehicle was loose, touch panel faulty so unable to sync my phone to use in the car. Returned car a day early, no refund offered or given. System down when car returned. Lady friendly though.
Easy to find. We hired a campervan for about 5 days to drive around the East Coast. Prices were fairly reasonable and the vehicle was in good condition.
The gentleman who helped us when we collected our car made the experience so easy! He was friendly and helpful, a great service that meant we were quickly on our way in a brand new car no less! Great service
We booked our campervan through discovery campervans and had to take a Taxi to pick it up near the airport. The guy that served us at Hertz was both professional and funny. Pickup was quick and easy. The camper had everything we needed including a little blow heater which heated up the van quick. Price was good too considering we dropped the camper off at Hobart. Totally recommend
Thank you so much to Jess! Absolute super star very helpful when we were stuck with not many options in the school holidays to rent a car. Went out of her way to help us, great service!
Great service. They went out of their way to help us with bike racks and bike bag storage. Will rent from them every time we visit.
We reserved a new Toyota Corolla and they give us Nissan pulser, and the car is in very poor condition, at least driven for 10 years, it has so many scratches and swirls, also the car only have less than 3 quarter petrol left also they seems using 91 which makes the car getting weird noise. When we reached the car park, the car back door is not even locked and the wiper is in poor condition also.
The staff there are very unwilling to give advise and tell us incomplete information especially things regarding the price and insurance.
The price quote we got is 700 only, the lady there told us adding driver is free for charge, however, when we get the price quote, she told us adding driver under age 25 needs to charge us 16.5 dollars for each of the new driver, and after we paid the full fare, the staff told us the insurance does not cover damage on Unsealed roads or off road and additional conditions that the complete cover insurance won't cover.
That's just ridiculous.
