Beautiful place for a weekend getaway or camping trip

Absolutely lovely area of Tasmania

Not very well maintained. The track was really muddy in parts, so not as enjoyable as other amazing walks.

A beautiful stop Hellyar Gorge rest area to stop and stretch your legs. Go toilet and even have a picnic lunch. A beautiful area for photos and take in the beautiful fresh air.

Well, it doesn't say camping but it doesn't say no camping. I was on my bicycle and camped here (signs I was not the first) There are bathrooms with flush toilet but there is also a sign saying don't drink the water

A good place to stop for a break if travelling in the north of TAS. It has tables & chairs and toilets (sometimes hard to find a well setup stop in TAS). It also has a short walk to and along the river. If on the Murchison hwy give it a look if you need a break.

Lovely spot to stop if you're heading through to Cradle Mountain or Waratah. Windy road in and out. Covered picnic table and toilets there. Lovely little walk down to the river from the car park and a great longer walk on the other side of the road that follows the river. Fantastic place to photograph fungi in Autumn and it's also dog friendly.

This is my get away to recharge camp ground. I have often retreated to this camp ground to escape and mediate for a few days. The gentle sound of the river and the forest noises are very calming.

Enjoyable short walk in the forest along the river, watch out for the wasps around the car park

I like your place, it's nice down by the river and the walk could be romantic but it wasn't so I'll come back another day for that part

Track very muddy and slippery but it's a beautiful spot to stop and take in some of Tasmania's natural beauty

OMG we stopped here for a water transfer moment (water in, water out of the body) and to eat some lunch. Turned out to be way cooler than we would have guessed! Short hike down to the river and we discovered the most fascinating mushrooms! So many cool mushrooms in one place! It was cool and crazy! Check it out!

Perfect spot for a night. Toilets, bins plenty of space. Green area for tent. Absolutely no traffic at night. Little walk around the campground

Great little path, wanders down to river from carpark, however path could do with some gravel in areas and made a bit wider and more defined, especially coming up from under bridge exit.
Rest area needs a little TLC also.

Definately worth getting out to stretch your legs after the windy road drive. Opportunity to see why you've been going up and down the mountains.

Awesome motorcycling road either side of this campground. Good basic facilities. The walk along the creek is quite short and, compared to other sights in tassie, pretty plain. Its a pleasant place, but not spectacular.

If you ride, you should go down this road, its the goods.

I stopped here as it seemed to be a midway point between Stanley & Strahran, toilet facilities & very pretty surroundings

Beutiful spot. Short walk to the falls. Spoilt by long term campers. Rangers need to move them on.

We stopped here overnight on our way south to escape the wind on the north-west coast. Beautiful walks through the myrtle rainforest, plus a surprise encounter with a platypus.awesome.
