Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs reviews
62Needs a better booking system, says not to book, so got there after an hour of travel and was told tours booked out by people there earlier
Great 45min tour of an impressive cave. Guide gave us a song too! Kids loved the pool. Very pleasant short walk at the pool area too.
Paul had phenomenal passion, a wonderful tour guide. Learnt so much about this miraculous place… protect it at all costs!
A MUST do thing when you are nearby or in Hobart. Best ever cave tour I attended. Great tour and friendly staff and service.
Went for the 1pm tour with our lovely guide, Tate. There were about 23 of us in total but it didn’t feel over crowded. Still lots of opportunities for photos and to ask questions. Hands down one of the best tours we’ve been on, it’s really due to our wonderful guide. Tate is truly a legend! The thermal pool was a little cold so definitely did not feel like 27 degrees and we were all freezing, but it was still a fun experience. Booking in advance is highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our visit here, great guides with a lot of passion and knowledge, the walks near the pool were nice too. The cafe was good value! Hats off to Ros who makes sensational scones, we almost had seconds:) what a lovely lady too. We enjoyed the entire visit and would recommend it to others.
Great tour guide, nice amount of people in each group (approx 20) which is great. They don’t rush you through the caves and it’s truly breathtaking! Definitely recommend for couples and those with kids. Be mindful there are steps which can be quite steep and slippery areas, wear proper grip shoes and wear a hat unless you don’t mind the drips from the above stalactites.
Beautiful cave. The gudies were amazing and they have very good knowledge about caves. Everything was pretty organised. Just carry warm clothes because the temperature is 9 degrees throughout year.
Amazing caves, very pleasurable tour and walk to the cave is through a beautiful forest. We loved the way our tour guide explained details about how the caves were formed and how they were found out etc.
A truly beautiful experience. Learned a lot from our guide. Breathtaking. Would highly recommend.
Great tour of caves and a refreshing dip in the thermal pool. Bbq facilities by the pool were excellent. There's even hot showers available!
Great affordable fun for the whole family. There needs to be more places like this in Tasmania
Such an amazing experience, Our 3 year old loved the cave. Did the journey in my pluggas, wish I had shoes but.
The tour guide was professional and knowledgeable, and the cave itself was beautiful.
It's 9°C inside, so make sure to bring a jumper.
An amazing journey into one of Australias oldest cave systems. Located deep in a temperate rainforest, these cool underground caves provide a snapshot into our rich history. The cave guide was very polite & knowledgeable, which only added to this wonderful experience.
Lovely little spot, BBQ area very clean and they provide cooking paper and utensils. The pool was amazing and a great little kids pool also and many seats around. The toilets and showers were clean. There were also lots of little gifts in the gift shop with snacks. Just watch your food as the birds are very good at stealing what they can even off the hot BBQ! You have been warned!
Unique and amazing experience well curated excellent guide, more than worth the long drive from Hobart
A long drive from Hobart but worth the investment. The caves were accessible to anyone able bodied with hand rails and non-slip steps including paved areas in the main galleries. The guide was informative and interesting. The tour takes 45 mins all done. Interesting fact, the caves stay at 9c all year round so on the day we visited it was raining and the caves were actually warmer than the outside temperature, so any weather is a good time to visit just make sure you wear closed toe shoes (practical) and enough layers for 9c. A star was dropped off as the thermal spring was actually what appeared to be a blue lined in-ground pool and the food was a little limited with only scones, packet pies, sausage rolls and toasties on offer.
The cave is breathtaking. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Every corner and turn in the cave was another wow factor. Would recommend grabbing some scones and ditching the cafe tables for the open fire in the bbq area of the thermal springs gardens. A very pleasant day was had!
