Gunners Arms Tavern reviews
37Good venue, excellent free room out the back for gigs, comfortable bar or the front with plenty of seats.
Good selection of beers and solid pub food. Open fireplace at the main bar and Band room out the back.
My salad was delicious and as I ordered no egg.came with no egg.
The function room was set up as we asked. Great venue
Great pub! Has good atmosphere and staff are super friendly and helpful. Menu has plenty to offer and the steak was cooked to our liking perfectly. Plenty of choice of beers on tap and what wasn’t on tap was in the fridge. Highly recommend.
Attended party Free function room a big plus, smallish, but had all amenities close bye. I would use when the need arises. Staff really good.
Great food we ordered Schnitzel it was delicious.
Good value for money.
Friendly staff.
Great food, good beer, bloke id'd me, bloke also had full metal alchemist tattoo so that makes it ok, would come here again
Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Lacks a bit of atmosphere but overall good place to hang out with mates.
Went for the monthly pagan dinner and impressed is definitely one of the words I'd use, great service, brilliant time management of having nearly 50 ppl eat round the same time, staff know when to crack the whip and when to have a laugh with us was impressive!
Delicious Parmi with pineapple and perfect chips. Kid’s parmi and kid’s pizza were both generous sizes + delicious.
Had lunch here. What great value and beautiful food.
Nice beers on tap and the publican was super friendly
I've yet to be impressed with the meals. They are okay; I wouldn't go here specifically for the food. But it's a nice tight pub with plenty of outdoor space. Free function rooms as well. Also, cider on tap, which I appreciate.
Cheap beer, good selection of pub food, great that you can sit outside in an undercover section.
Could have been a quaint old cozy place but we didn’t feel comfortable, or welcomed.
There were only 3 tables inside, all taken and only 2 outside, also taken. (the upper deck hadn’t been setup at 4.30 yet) we asked about seating upstairs and were told ”its for dining only” (how did the lady know we weren’t in for dinner?).
After a while my wife and son ended up leaving because they didn’t want to stand up. I was halfway my Guinness and eventually one table became available outside.but it was wet and sticky from old beer/food, ‘cause it hadn’t been cleaned yet!
The old man had only managed to set up a couple of tables on upper deck outside and ran out of breath and came sitting inside.
Due to lack of seating, it soon became too unbearable to sit outside, with the old cigar smoke, so I left, but not before going to toilets - and what a disaster!
There was a rubbish bag in middle of floor, with all rubbish from urinnols spilling out and vomit all around.
It seems jobs are started and left halfway to start another!
It’s when I noticed a nice and quiet room with tall tables setup as well dining tables, just behind the bar (where’s the male toilet). Why the lady at bar, didnt tell us to sit there? She knew we were struggling to find a place to sit (we asked twice), so we all could order drinks and nibbles etc.
We were looking for a cozy place to have dinner, but obviously they didn’t want our money. Perhaps anything else apart from pulling beer is too much effort?
P. S.looked around all the way out and in the bar and couldn’t find any gel!
And no need to make up stories/excuses as I shared the pics of the above
It was a very warm and personable space. Service and drinks were good, however the absence of a bartender for a few minutes was mildly annoying when we wanted to order a second round. I'm sure there was a good reason for it, too! Nice and warm fireplace in the pub.
Very outdated dining, wasn't very appealing, there was a live band downstairs which were horrible and so loud we couldn't even have a conversation up stairs while having our meals. My partner ordered the pizza and it was literally like a flatbread tortilla base, wasn't very nice.
Excellent food, Scallops were amazing, beef burger great and drinks excellent. Highly recommend.
Good range of beers including tap rotations, good food, free meeting/ function room, friendly staff and warm open fire.
Really enjoyed the casual atmosphere having a couple of quiet ones at the bar by the fire. Excellent spot recharge after exploring Launceston and City Park.
We were recommended to have dinner by a local.
We had a good feed. No problems there.
My wife had to ask for toilet paper and hand towels as the ladies toilet was missing both.
That alone is very disappointing especially as every place should be on top of sanitisation.
We then Ieft as the person who ended up putting toilet paper into the ladies came out and served cutlery to other diners without washing her hands. Classic.
