So enjoyable. Peaceful spot and quiet pocket of nature. Beautiful site of pine trees and lovely river stream to relax at night time. Nite sky is breathtaking. Toilets on site.

Free camping areas, lots of room, riverside spots and picnic tables, BBQ areas. Lots of dirt bike activity though

Dream spot!
Great access in. Right next to south esk river with flowing fresh water. Great for hot days swims and washing dishes. Really large campsite so we went during the week and there was no one in our vicinity. The dog looooooved it because it’s big and open to throw the bowl. A lot of ready made fire pits around as well. Toilets are basic long drops (to be expected). I have heard that the dirtbiking around the campground is stellar also. Nice for just a walk for everyone else. Lots of big trees for shelter as well.

We camped at Griffin early Jan 2019 and I can honestly say it was a massive let down. The camp spots were barely maintained. Over grown thistles, rutts everywhere from motorbikes and campfires with broken glass. As well as broken glass around the camp spots.

There is a toilet and there is a river. The river was low and a lot of algae. There were a few trout about and a consistent hatch.

I would give this place a miss. There were also a lot of dirt bike riders around too. They're pretty annoying. We couldn't figure out if one was drunk from the night before or just started early and was drunk by 9am. He wasn't riding. Just supervising his kids.

You could give it a five for enjoymeant if you like not crowered camps but the young blokes on motor bikes mostly at the weekends do make a noise. The camp spots are usally clean but some campers do leave their rubbish behind. Hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. More fire wood around than you wood ever need. This place plenty of river water.

Late season exploration of the trout fishing opportunities, along with a rest and relaxation over the Easter break. Clean clear flows with some fine and challenging wild brown trout fishing in stunning surroundings.

Free camping spot the upper, South Esk River river is great dip, plenty of room for many camp sites, but few amenties, and not easy to get a good shady spot also watch out for the snakes. Lots of good motor bike riding trials in the area, and not many people about to be bothered.
