Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre reviews
17 The women working here were some of the most kind, funny and engaging staff I have ever met. They seemed very happy with their jobs.
Very attentive to guests and within minutes we were in hysterics swapping stories.
Toilets were clean and easily accessible. Just be aware that light turns off if you don’t move after a while but you are not left completely in the dark. My advice is to take your phone in.
One of the best info centres we went to in Tasmania. Staff are just so friendly and helpful! The museum and yarns silk artwork is incredible! Make sure u stop here if your in Deloraine. They also have a great gift shop perfect for family pressies!
Unfortunately the lady who was working on Thursday (29/12) was quite unhelpful. We were told wrong information about the Cradle Mountain visitor centre and shuttle. We were told that the Cradle Mountain Discovery Park was booked out and we would have no chance of getting in (we then rang ourselves and got two sites). Every piece of info she gave us started with “I think”, which didn’t give us much confidence with what she was providing.
We have dealt with another person here who was the opposite. So just a bit disappointing.
Great information centre from happy and polite people working there. Good shop of local products at a good price. The museum and show are fantastic and very informative, I spent almost two hours there looking around and found it a fantastic display of the area and a great way for people to get to know the history of the area for a small and reasonable price.
The Visitor's Centre in Deloraine is EXCEPTIONAL! The staff are outstanding (shout out to Angela), the yarn show is incredible, so much to see and do. A must see!
This visitors centre punches well above its weight and is fantastic. Nothing like many of the old and tired centres you might find in other small towns. The museum and cinema show are brilliant and what a view! Thank you to the warm and lovely staff on our visit:)
We visited the centre on Saturday and glad we did. The staffs there are very friendly and helpful. There are lots of nice local goods and art and craft you could see and buy.
Very friendly staff full of information of what's on and where with a great little museum a must to visit
Definitely worth a visit. The exhibition of yarns artwork in silk is beautiful and the walk around the district folk museum a credit to the town
We visited today & so glad we did! The silk yarn exhibition is just stunning in the collage panels. Then to walk around the folk museum was fascinating, both indoors & outdoors. So much to look at in wonder. The volunteer ladies were really welcoming & helpful too. There is a small Cafe & shop too but we didn't venture into these
Came in today for local info and was very happy with the helpful and friendly service. Bought some lovely locally made jewellery as well.
Lots of interesting Tasmanian gifts and books suitable for tourists and for sending to people in other places. Helpful and friendly staff.
Large tourist/visitor centre with loads of leaflets and a shop. Helpful friendly staff. Toilets available.
Lovely information centre with lots of literature brochures souvenirs and much more. Very informative friendly helpful staff with a lot of local knowledge of the area.
The most informative and helpful staff, thank you very much Jade! You provided us so much valuable information from your own first hand experience. We benefited greatly from the knowledge you shared with us in our 3 weeks camping in Tasmania. Tourism Tasmania must be proud of the great staff like you!
A beautiful Info centre. Love the silk story, the customer service was lovely and the museum was great to visit.
Absolutely amazing. So much work has good into it with some incredible ideas that have bought about the amazing displays.
I am going back with my sister. She will love it too. I am sorry I don't know how to post my photos but will get someone to help me.
So I hope you will go check it out and be just as surprised and left as thoughtful as I was. It will definitely give you some mixed emotions. Everyone involved take a bow.
