Serene and majestic scenery, lots of great walks, long or short in the area. Huts are very well fitted out and comfortable.

Enjoyable experience but come prepared to stay. There is no electricity or cell coverage here but has running water and fire place for heating and some fire wood to last a day. Bring you own portable stove, lantern, utensils and very warm clothing for sleeping and wearing them. I went during the last week of December and temperature were around 6 degrees.

Great location. Firewood provided for wood heaters. 5 huts in total. Cold water on tap. Drop toilets. Hand sanitizer provided. Make sure to pack food away from wildlife - some come inside while you're sleeping. Great fun in the snow!

Can't do a review, just stopped to take photos. Was raining and blowing on the day.

A truly great and easily accessible Wilderness Experience. The huts are super clean and cosy and the bunk beds very comfortable. Off grid so no mobile phone service, no power etc. The night time sky was sensational.

Spent a night here with a film crew - all 4 seasons in early January.
Sunshine, high winds, horizontal rain then sleet then snow - sunny next morning.
The huts were solid, a great shelter from the elements.
The surrounds are just great alpine scrub teeming with wildlife.
No pics for this one - was busy with sound!

Cheap and cheerful near some great summer hikes and winter snow. Warm, good bunks. Rent thru Mt Field visitor centre.
