Goaty Hill Wines reviews
36Placed our order, waited 40 minutes for the wine to come out, reminded them they hadn't brought the wine out. Waited another 30 minutes watching others get served, and still nothing was bought out. Pathetic customer service. Not sure what their wine tastes like because apparently the don't serve any. Don't bother, plenty of other great wineries in the area
I want to thank you for the love and care you give my clients and Tassie's visitors. Rob and Catherine are doing an amazing job and the food is to live for!
Thank you so much!
Entry could be be improved.was a bit weird pulling into the car park. BUT once inside, really nice and we’ll set out. Som was good, kept it brief which is refreshing for a change. Cheeses were good and Pinot noir was freakin good. And the Chardonnay. But rest were just good
What stunning surroundings. Sitting on the grass on beanbags, sipping on a pilot gris, cheese platter & dips. Everything was perfect. Thank you!
My husband and I shared the Tassie cheese platter with a bottle of delicious 2018 Chardonnay. So relaxing sitting under the magnificent black gum peppermints admiring the view of the Tamar and the rows of vines like dancing girls with black tights!
Highly recommend an Autumnal visit.
Wasps weren’t a problem as they are starting to hibernate.
Very desultory welcome by young woman who only engaged with my husband and totally ignored me. There was mention of medal winning wines but nothing on label and no further info. Could only recite written tasting notes and there was no personal engagement. We left underwhelmed without making a purchase. Beware the secret shopper - our visit has cost you $$$ in lost sales.
Great wine and views. Very knowledgeable and welcoming staff. The chardonnay is crisp and delicious!
Great staff awesome grass area was great for kids to run around. Wasps where a pain but wine and platters very yummy and well priced
Came here with my husband and two kids. They had either the $25 cheese platter or the $60 mixed platter. We had the latter and it was absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend. Service was great and scenery was beautiful as it looked over the vineyard and river.
Stunning wines, food and location with friendly service, definitely a must visit if in the Tamar wine region.
Had the tasting which the wines were of a very high standard, was thoroughly enjoyable with the Riesling, Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir been the standouts.
Also, we had the gourmet platter which was very generous with quality ingredients.
The view of the vines with the Tamar river in the background is a beautiful setting for a standout winery, definitely recommend calling in.
A lovely vineyard with some cracking wines and a pretty cellar door spot. The frendly owner hosted us and guided through the tasting. They also do lunch platters.
We tried a variety of their wine and there were some notable favourites, like the Chardonnay and pinot noir. Worth stopping on your wine trail.
Relaxing casual setting. Was impressed by all the wines in the tasting for a very reasonable $5 fee. Dips with flatbread were good quality and tasty.
Essence of Tamar Valley. Great setting, quick service, food delicious and yummy wines. A must visit
Winery was busy when we arrived, and the tasting took much longer than expected as more people kept on arriving. We were here for over an hour. However, we had already tried the riesling at a restaurant and were keen to try the other wines. We were not disappointed. Excellent wines. The Family Select chardonnay was perfection.
Goaty Hill was such a disappointment! After scoping out all the vineyards in the area, and deciding on visiting this one, we arrived at 11: 30 on Saturday after travelling from Melbourne. The sign at the gate said "OPEN", however upon arriving at the Cellar Door we found it closed! No worries, one of the staff was inside arranging tables, after smiling at her and knocking, she continued to go about her arranging/computer work without so much as a wave of acknowledgement. Extremely rude behaviour from someone in the service industry and we will not be back! May I kindly recommend that you only place your "OPEN" sign at the gate, if you are ready to serve customers?
Lovely spot and wines. Though we visited on a public holiday so it was quite busy which meant the guy taking us through our tasting didn't have time to tell us about the winery and the wines very much, which was a shame as that's the sort of stuff we love to hear about.
