Great staff, super obliging and quick - gave us extra blankets for the cold winter weather. Liked their 20c piece policy (no scratches smaller than will count). The van was super comfy and did the job! Only issue was the reverse parking camera didn’t work, and the 240v charger only worked when the van was plugged into a charging station - but that was a feature (not immediately obvious to us when booking) and not a bug. Would book again!

The stars are for service, the guys were more than helpful. The other two are for the state of the vehicle, found rubbish under mattress indicating it hadn't been clean, mattress was broken down, tv not secured and swung about the place until we tied it down, cupboards jammed, had to use tools to get into for pots which we had to buy, wipers were stuffed had to replace, toilet leaked into the shower. In all fairness if we had BEEN MORE THOROUGH AND contacted them they may have come and attended to these things but who wants to spend your holidays waiting for maintenance when your hours away? Ended up paying for hotel on top of hire as no compensation made so MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERYTHING!

Hired the 2-3 Berth hi top campervan for 7 days and it had everything we needed for 2 people. The staff were also friendly and informative. I would highly recommend Go Cheap/Cruisin if you're considering taking a van around Tassie.

Would not recommend this campervan to anyone. Can't drive on gravel (apart from up to 12km to a PAID campsite) which really limits your freedom and means you can't visit some of the most scenic places in Tasmania. While the basic functions (motor, water, power, fridge, gas etc) were all fine in our 1-2 yr old Toyota van, the company really let themselves down with the poor design, workmanship and maintenance of their internal campervan outfitting. They could learn a lot from boat builders, tiny houses and modern tents about how to design better quality, user-centric fittings for very small spaces. You get the impression their effort is very much a 'that'll do' approach. They got a few things right but too many things wrong. Eg a VERY wobbly table that you worry about putting a drink on, chipboard cupboard doors that fall off their hinges, glass and crockery wire storage systems that waste space AND don't fit the crockery and glassware provided, no effort on storage space for non-food items, yet lots of wasted spaces throughout and not taking opportunities to think about user-functionality. On top of this, when we mentioned the wobbly table and the doors falling off (the first one fell off on the first day before we even left Hobart) we did not get even one tiny little acknowledgement or apology, nor have we been given an email link request for feedback. That tells you a lot about this company. Yet the campervan market was pumping in Tassie - I'd say it was ripe for more and better competition. Red Sands Campers.how about you?

Was good before taking the van back, the guy then started to be picky about scratches that most likely were there already, to make it short after over 5 weeks, I still don t have my 5000$ deposit back, no assessment done, no hurry their side. What a Nightmare!

I may have been very unlucky, but i had issues from the beginning.

I ve found ridicoulous the 50$ per day, to reduce to zero the excess.

50$ per day on a sum of 5000?

Lack of maintenance and testing, emerged straight away, the external report was incomplete and no mention of the interior and content of the vehicle.

Gas tanks empty prevented cooking and the fridge from cooling while stopping.

Gas bottles could not be replaced, and refill was impossible.hours of stress until i gave up cooking.

From the help desk no much help, they charge admin fees for your damages, but not "repair" for your efforts, when issues are due to their fault.

Althought i had to report scratches not in the initial report, and had the report amended, now i have to wait for their final investigations to get the bond back.

Hope to have all my money back, and never have to deal with this company again, they just teaming with other similar companies to prevent competion on prices and quality of service.

Be aware that in order to rent these vehicles you will have to pay $25-30 a day in insurance or a $3000 bond with a non refundable $125 administration fee. We’ve been waiting to get our bond back for two weeks, now after contacting them they said it would be another five days.
The price is not representative of how much you’ll pay. That’s the bottom line.
The vans are also mixed quality. Mechanically great but the interior is old, moldy, and dirty. We had a positive experience when we complained about the leaking window (which soaked our bed) and they were on top of the repair and partial refund.
I would have been keen to give them a pretty good review but holding the deposit for near three weeks is ridiculous. Prepare to pay at least $125 more than you think and not have thousands of your dollars in your bank account for weeks.

Great and friendly staff, clean vehicles in good condition (for their age - remember the price). Unfortunately, our van broke down, but the roadside assistance was super helpful in organizing a tow truck that took us back to Hobart. Since it was the second to last day, we couldn't get a replacement and got the day and the following immediately refunded instead. It's only when things go wrong that you really start to see how good a company is. 100% recommended, thanks guys!

We had a mixed experience with this company. We recently returned from a 10 day holiday with a campervan we hired via Go Cheap motorhomes which was an older style campervan which had clocked up a lot of KMs. We experienced some issues on our last 2 days when we started getting warnings flash up to check break pads and plugs, the windscreen wipers and in cabin aircon stopped working as well. As we didn't have reception we couldn't call customer care and managed to make it back to Hobart to catch our flight but not without a little bit of worry.

Given the age of the vehicle, we still thought it was quite comfortable and most things worked pretty well. We hired one with a shower and toilet which both were very convenient. The kitchen was well set up and had enough to keep us going to cook meals throughout the journey. We had some issues with the fridge when unpowered and called customer care who were very helpful - although they didn't manage to solve the issue they gave us some alternatives to how we used it that kept us going.

The main issue we encountered with this company was the front desk staff who were not terribly helpful. On arrival we were asked to sit through a 30 minute video as the staff seemed to want to help as minimally as possible. We were also told that we needed to install our own child seats for our 3 year old (!) which was very unexpected for a car hire company who should have a focus on the safety of their passengers. They said they were not qualified to do this so we installed the best we could ourselves.

On return staff identified a new scuff mark on the cabin and charged $75 on the spot for some sort of admin fee to quote on repair. The staff member who we dealt with was defensive and unhelpful, particularly when we outlined all of the various issues we had with the van. We asked to speak to the manager and he refused, saying we needed to contact customer care which was their policy. After further discussion he relayed that his manager would call us within 48 hours to discuss our issues but would not give us a name or contact to follow up with. Of course the manager never rang us so we escalated via their customer care. They agreed to waive any damage repair fees and refunded us the $75 and full bond as compensation.

These few issues soured what was overall a lovely trip traveling Tasmania. Not sure whether we would travel with them again but in the end were satisfied with the outcome but we could have done without the hassle and some better customer service from the front facing staff.

I won’t recommend this company to my friends. The service is very perfunctory. It was just show us a video about this car and told us we can go after this video. Later, I discovered a bunch of problems with the car: the display version failed, the hot water could not come out, and the water pipe that was connected to the water was not suitable for the adapter. We all used the water pipe to pick up the water.
The overall condition of the car was very poor. Afterwards, it was said that the car had a lot of problems so we have to pay. We didn’t even know when the damage occurred.
I hope everyone will not be fooled by the five stars of this company!

A great way to explore Tasmania but I would choose a different camper company next time.
The sales staff were really pushy trying to get you sign up to the maximum insurance and squeeze every last dollar out of you.
The camper had a broken front seat, the air conditioning system didn’t work and the table design to convert to a bed was a punish to manuver every morning and night.
To top it off - they advised our $5k deposit would be returned within 4 days when we dropped the camper back, and it’s now 12 days later with no sign of it. Not happy at all.

We had a great week away in Tassie. Reliable vehicle, had everything we needed.
Really enjoyed visiting the east coast and being able to pull up anywhere to have a look around.
Highly Recommend!

This was our first motor home holiday and we loved it. Having the space, warmth and comfort of the van made it so easy to pull up when we found a spot. Tassie is so ideal for motor home holidays with natural gems hidden around every corner. We were also surprised to see how accommodating the state, including Hobart, were to getting around in the van.

We had a fantastic two weeks in Tassie. Our motorhome from Cruisin was just perfect for the two of us. We couldn't have done it better. Great company to deal with. Will do it again soon.

Overall, we were satisfied with the campervan. It was comfortable, easy to drive and relatively well appointed with kitchen and cleaning equipment. The bed was comfortable enough, however, after 13 nights we are looking forward to a normal bed. It was a great way to travel around Tasmania as we were self sufficient within the van, no need to rely on powered camp sites and could just pull up anywehere without worry.
