After 22 years I have suddenly been denied care, purely for not having an appointment in the last twelve months. Two of the younger reception staff are absolutely wonderful but the majority are rude, arrogant and borderline abusive at times toward patients in the last few appointments I did have. My health concerns were consistently ignored by various doctors and passed off as “part of being a woman”, and when I pressed I was given medication that did nothing but made me sicker with no effort to finding a resolution or cause. During an appointment at another clinic and ONE xray that took less than two minutes, I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis that is bordering on needing metal rods to correct, but according to the doctors at Glenorchy the constant pain is normal and “part of womanhood”. I was constantly being told different information by different staff regarding my appointments or results from specialists, and being charged for double appointments due to doctors running late when I had been in the office for less than five minutes only to be pushed out the door. The staff at this centre have made me feel like a nuisance and a waste of time and space, and have now been forced to find care elsewhere at no fault of my own.

My husband used to see Dr Beltz, I can not begin to describe the lack of professionalism and compassion he received. He, the Dr told me that my husband was a VERY sick man, and he still could not take us seriously! I wrote a long letter to complain and outline incidents that happened to my husband in my presence. It was answered by the “office manager” singing the praises of Dr Beltz and disputing my concerns. I now know I should of taken my concerns to a governing body to be investigated instead of relying on the good will and honesty of those in charge at the Practice. You live and learn.

A heads up to anyone entering this medical practice. I went in to attend an appointment to support a family member and I was spoken to like absolute trash. The male that was working on reception at 4pm had disrespectful attitude towards myself. I felt like he was degrading and very unprofessional. This person needs reviewing because it’s not on. I’ll be contacting ACCC Regarding my rights on your fees etc which is what we were having issues with.
Thanks

After 3 years of sub par service from a Dr who probably would not he able to recognise me he passed me in the St as I dont think he's ever looked at me, I received a letter yesterday advising that he would not be working anyone and I therefore no longer have a Dr! I have chronic pain for which I take pain killersand also depression and anxiety for which I take antidepressants.this medication cannot just be stopped cold Turkey which is what will happen if I don't find a new Dr in a month! Don't these people have a duty of care.there are plenty of other drs there who could take me on to give some peace of mind while I look for a (hopefully) better and more helpful dr/centre. Appalling treatment and there should be some thing I can do or somewhere I can complain!

Edit - thanks for the reply Victoria but if you had actually read my review rather than just pedal out a stock response you would have realised I am an EXISTING patient not a new one. Appalling treatment and it shouldn't be allo

Im appalled by this call service Adam his his name and I went before bulk billing was removed and asked the gb did I have to pay she said no and a month later I had a final notice to pay for my blood pressure that I was told I didn't have to pay but when I called Adam explaining this he said in the end I still have to pay, I said take it out of the bank account and hung up I called today so I can go to have a blood test same dude I've been termanted for not paying? But I said they can take it honestly disgusting service and I barely ever go for medical help but when I need it I'm ignored.

This medical practice is by far the most revolting. I am a cancer patient of Gerry Mcgushin and have been for a long time. He’s been terminated and none of his existing clients have been invited to stay on seeing other doctors. But thats not was told to me by the receptionist. I was told none of the current staff want to deal with or be left with his clients. This is unreal. Yes I received your short blunt and rude letters and I’m am stunned that a practice could get away with this. Apparently the current staff Arnt taking new clients
Well I’m not a new bloody client.
Iv been going there for over 10 years and have seen just about every doc that has worked there. I feel like going to the media about this. Keep away from this clinic people at all costs

Use to bulk bill. Now they charge. That makes it hard, when you haven't got the money when your sick and need to see a doctor urgently.

Vindy was almost rude last visit. No interest had asked for 3 years to see another Dr in the practice as have been a patient there for 25 plus years. Told NO.
After reporting my frustration can at last see another Doc thank goodness

Never had any major issues here. All the staff are great.

I don't know how they do what they do with a smile on their faces all the time.

It must be hard when they have to deal with some of these people who don't appreciate anything in life.

Ive been coming here for about three years and they put up with me and my children.

I am more than happy here.

If I could give a zero I would, but a 1-star explains enough.

Terrible staff and doctors.
A male receptionist spoke to and treated an elderly lady like dirt beneath his feet. The elderly lady forgot her mask, he gave her one. She had trouble reaching up to tie the mask around her head, he refused to help her so I helped her.
Also, Dr Ian Beltz gave me the wrong medication. I was taking the wrong medicine for a few days when I had to stop due to breathing difficulties. I called the pharmacist. Turns out he gave me the wrong medicine and that’s why I had issues. He had all the information in front of him, but he didn't listen because he loathes Dr Reddy (the psychiatrist who prescribed my medication).

All in all, never going back there again.

PSA: Never go there if you have a serious medical issue or a concerned for your health.

Edit: I am giving 3 stars now, as Dr Andrea Ling was very helpful and polite.

I received a text message this morning advising me that I should book in for a Clinical Review (whatever that is). I have tried three times during the day and have spent between 20 and 45 minutes each time just listening to the continual messages. Seriously, I cannot believe that even with a high volume of calls to answer, that I could not speak to somebody after waiting for 45 minutes - after which I hung up.

I changed my review because I had a better experience last visit. The reception was good. The wait time still 20 minutes!
Dr. Itterman is a good Doctor for me. I'm much happier with the Centre now.

Vindhya Vithanage real cruel almost seemed she didn't want me in there, giving me dirty looks before I even made it in. Pretty much told me to get lost and get out of her office with no advise. Don't know how she works there but she needs to watch her mouth

Firstly Dr Chamida Adawattage showed extreme unprofessionalism as a doctor, he was unhelpful and in my case did not even listen to what i was telling or clearly showing him and couldnt perform the most simple task. He sent me in to have the wrong tests done, twice he messed this up after very clear verbal and written instruction by me on what was needed. I would strongly urge anyone to steer clear of Dr Chamida.
The two stars i have given are solely to another actual professional Dr Christine Lee-Baw and the very helpful, friendly and understanding nurses that assisted me and actually listened to what i was saying whilst fixing Dr Chamidas mistakes. I wish i had of got their names too. So thank you to them,

If I could give no star I would. My children and I have been going to Glenorchy Medical for the last 4 years, after Wednesdays performance from our female GP, we will not be back. The lack of caring for a patient ie, I had a panic attack brought on by the GP and I was sent out the door without being able to breathe. I'll also add in front of my daughter my GP goes "who are you? "

My father recently passed away at Barossa Park Lodge having suffered a major stroke and not regaining consciousness. The staff at Barossa gave exceptional care and Dr McCloud came early every morning to see my Dad and called me after he had attended a personal funeral. He went above and beyond and our family is grateful Dad was in his care. I feel my Mum is in very safe hands

If you want to have a decent cry after being spoken to like an absolute inconvenience, give these guys a call.

Had to call as the website specifies, due to having Covid symptoms. Waited approximately 20 minutes to be told abruptly and rudely 'Well there are no appointments until next week, you will just have to go to the after hours'. Could that not have been included in the hold music?

I rang another clinic afterwards and was able to get a telehealth appointment within 2 hours.

This isn't the first occasion either, hence the review. Have had a couple of instances where my daughter has required prompt medical attention, only to be told there are no appointments, which is fair enough, Medical Centres are busy.

However, the staff truly make you feel like an inconvenience and that you are stupid for not knowing that you or your child are going to have a debilitating sinus migraine or be up all night trying to administer asthma medication. Like you really should book a week in advance for these scenarios.

No empathy and no options are given. Just to be left in a feeling of despair, when stressful health events occur.

Surely some appointments should be held open for urgent/prompt medical attention? Or is it a matter of money > than patient care?

Note: when I have been able to get an appointment, the medical attention given is 5/5 stars, no complaints at all.

I also find it extremely unprofessional when reading some of these reviews, that the response from Glenorchy medical centre includes details of if the reviewer is on the centres books or not, or has a history of appointments. This is a potential breach of the reviewers privacy.
