Glencoe Country Bed and Breakfast reviews
18We just stayed one night but had a great time, with a comfortable room, good guest lounge and one of the best breakfasts we have had for a long time. Spotlessly clean inside and a lovely, interesting garden with chooks. Strongly recommended. Our travelling campanions were of the same opinion.
This bed and breakfast is above and beyond any of yhe others we have stayed in during our trip around Tasmania. There isn't a single thing to fault. The room was perfect - clean, fresh, well appointed etc. The home itself is stunning, inside and out. The breakfast was incredible! The service was wonderful and friendly. It will always be one of the highlights of our trip.
This was an excellent Bed and Breakfast. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, the hosts were really friendly, there was plenty to look at around the farm, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!
Russ and Irene went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay at Glencoe. The food they cooked was incredible and the accomodation was amazing. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. We’ll definitely be staying at Glencoe again next time we visit Tassie! Thanks guys!
Beautiful relaxing setting, wonderful photo opportunities, friendly atmosphere, amazing breakfast, excellent suite. Definitely return stay
The BEST B&B experience ever! I am travelling with 2 dogs & all 3 of us, could not have received a warmer welcome. The dog friendly unit is fabulous! The QS bed is luxuriously comfortable, elegantly dressed and the dogs had an entire fenced yard to rough-house in. Irene & Russell really do go above & beyond & their meticulously maintained farm, shows it. I have to mention the freshly brewed coffee & home-made croissants - wow! Gorgeous. And Russell, for this happy guest, your vanilla slice is fabulous as is, don't over-tinker. Thankyou sincerely from Jenenne, Spike & Mawson. We ALL appreciated your welcoming manner, so much so, that we have sent you a gift. When it arrives, I hope you find it compliments your already exceptional hospitality.
Wow! Friendly hosts, lovely gardens, so many animals to enjoy, and we fed the cows. The breakfast - best ever - freshly made croissants, huge range of hot food, berries, fresh fruit, large range of teas, amazing coffee - and we were still asked if we wanted anything else. Thanks so much Russ and Irene
Lovely vintage feel to the whole place, beautiful farm with chickens, goats, cows to keep the kids entertained. Irene also provided us with a delicious breakfast and graciously offered to cook us eggs the way we wanted them. Her home made croissants were the highlight for me. Lovely stay and lovely hosts.
A homey and welcoming place with an immaculate garden, beautiful animals and top-tier hospitality. I particularly enjoyed the resident cat:)
Wonderful country hospitality. You can tell that the owners have put a lot of love and effort into restoring their beautiful heritage farmhouse. We enjoyed looking at their adorable animals - Howard the cat, free range chooks, goats and Highlander cows. Gorgeous Howard is super gentle with children.
Our 3 nights at Glencoe BnB was just perfect for relaxation and also daytrips to see Cradle Mountain, Sheffield murals and Latrobe. Their 4 beautifully appointed ensuite rooms have amenities like antique wardrobes, electric blankets, plush clean linen, mini fridge, good plunger coffee and even a multi usb charger in case you forgot to bring your own. So thoughtful!
Owner Irene is quite possibly the nicest lady in Tasmania. This kind lady gave us lots of local travel advice and cooked us the most delicious breakfast - we especially loved her avocado smash and buttery HUGE croissants. They are the best! Honestly better than most bakeries. Filled us up very well to tackle the Dove Lake walk. She even made little yummy treats for guests to enjoy in the cosy lounge with a fireplace, books and boardgames.
Many thanks Irene and Russ. We hope to return to Glencoe in the future when we visit Cradle Mountain.
This is without a doubt a 5 B&B! Quality bedding & a dreamily comfy bed with electric blanket to start with. Thoughtful mod cons such as the multi USB charging station, a Bluetooth speaker & even a dark face towel for make-up removal for the ladies.
The brekky special - smashed avo is better than any cafe out there. Fresh & delicious. As are the croissant & fresh fruit slices cut up perfectly. Everything was of the highest quality. We felt very spoilt.
Russ & Irene - the perfect hosts with a wealth of information & recommendations in & around the region.
15 foot ceilings, spacious with chic French style furnishings - such a beautiful property. We would definitely visit again.
Great service. Lovely home. Very clean and cosy rooms. Beaugarden to wander and lots of scenery to photograph. Highly recommend. Fur baby friendly is a must.
Great place to stay, with very hospitable hosts - Russ, Irene and Howard and the extended farm family members.
Quiet, private and without question a perfect place to stay. Generous and incredibly delicious fully cooked breakfast, beautiful well manicured surrounds and incredibly clean! Loved it! Hh
We had a great experience at Glencoe and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Unfortunately we only got to stay the one night but the breakfast provided before we headed off was above and beoynd. Highly recommend for a relaxing and scenic stay.
Awesome view, awesome room and excellent breakfast. Kids don’t want to leave. Definitely recommend to everyone.
A very memorable stay and experience. Russ and Irene are the loveliest hosts. Not only did they provide amazing accommodation with stunning decor and a delicious breakfast, but they gave us the best recommendations around the area for dinner and activities. Such extensive knowledge.
After breakfast, you have the opportunity to feed the gorgeous fluffy Scottish Highland cows in the front paddock. They grow their own produce, have a great selection of tea and games, and Netflix (so important lol). You can wander around the farm and the gardens, hug the baby goats, smell the flowers. I can honestly go on and on. I highly recommend this place.
Gorgeous property, incredibly kind and generous hosts, amazing breakfast. Wonderful experience all around!
Spent 2nights here. 10 mins drive from Sheffield town/ 1hr to cradle mt. Very nice stay. Clean and comfortable. Can also experience feeding cows at the farm. Sorry we left early and didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. Hope to see you again.
