Glen Derwent Tea Rooms reviews
18Lovely place to visit, especially at this time of the year with the rose garden in full bloom. We had a Devonshire Tea on the front verandah where the rose scent was divine. The peacocks antics were entertaining. Definitely go there for scones fresh from the oven, still warm and home-made jams with freshly whipped cream on classic crockery. The only thing to note is you must book or be disappointed.
Very, very disappointing! Food wasn’t fresh and certainly not worth the $50 per person. Nice rooms and friendly service but can’t recommend the High Tea.
Absolutely beautiful location, fantastic warm and friendly service and the food was absolutely to die for, definitely the best high tea I have ever had. Food was fresh, well thought out and moorish. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality, we will be definitely coming back! Highly recommend!
Very comfortable dining environment, excellent service quality, I will recommend friends to relax here?
Beautiful tea rooms, wonderful place to visit. Staff have friendly and professional customer Service.
We had the most delicious Devonshire tea out in the Gardens then strolled around the grounds. A superb Georgian style house with extensive grounds Our friend who we “treated” has mobility problems and he was able to get about & view the grounds easily. The food & drink were wonderful, the service friendly & accommodating & the weather superb! A perfect afternoon out! Thank you Glen Derwent Tearooms!
We had a lovely weekend staying in the tiny house at Glen Derwent. Dog friendly and wonderful cream tea.
Absolutely loved the dark Derwent night and that glen Derwent always goes out on a limb to brighten up the Derwent valley! It was absolutely fantastic and great collaboration between local businesses/arts.
The scones and lunches are also amazing
Liz and the Derwent tea rooms are a legend. We've been coming for fluffy scones and tea over the years and always so impressed by the love and care that goes into Glen derwent and the phenomenonal presentation of the grounds and preservation of beautiful old buildings too, which is so much work and really a labour of love.
More than that, Glen derwent is such an asset to new Norfolk, with local collaborations in its amazing venue (especially right now with tassie chef, etc). It's much, much appreciated
What a delightful place for Devonshire tea (bottomless tea or coffee and three small scones, savoury or sweet, for $15 per adult). Sun room provides a cosy area against cool weather and wind, plus outside seating for pleasant days. All was delicious especially the raspberry jam. Scones baked fresh for each customer. Highly recommended if you like scones! EFTPOS available.
We read in another review about breakfast but this was not available when we visited on a Sunday before Christmas 2019.

A wonderful experience. Peaceful and Historical. Delicious afternoon tea in a tranquil but interesting retreat. A must visit on your list and stay.
A wonderful location in an old house with lovely gardens. They served the best scones cooked freshly on arrival with homemade jams and proper cream. The high tea being served at the adjacent table looked stunning. Highly impressed. Mostly the helpful staff and ambience topped off a very nice experience. Legendary scones.
Lovely setting, seating indoors, verandah (under cover) or enclosed porch. Freshly baked soft scones with homemade jam. Pleasant gardens. Welcoming hostess.
Beautiful setting to enjoy some delicious food and lovely hospitality.
Scones were delicious!
Love this place. Friendly staff and delicious meals. Their high tea is always spot-on and their Sunday breakfast is to for for.
