Friendly Beaches camping area (bush camping) reviews
28What a wonderful amazing campsite, just an absolute bit of paradise with absolutely wonderful camp managers who were extremely kind and had lots of recommendations on everything tassie camping.
Visiting tourists. The road in is terrible. Pot holes everywhere.
Once at the beach its a beautiful white sandy beach
Friendly Beaches? They should rename it Hateful Beaches. Another patch of coastline ruined by selfish, entitled "locals".
Great beach for camp. Easy to access the beach with rocks pool. We can see 8 arms star fish and white belly sea eagle in the sky.
Free campsite at a beautiful location. Access to 2 wd. Would recommend arriving by 10 AM on peak season to secure a vacant spot. Short drive from the beautiful wine glass bay trails.
Such a beautiful place
So much for free camping tho so really couldn’t come n see nothing because need a national park pass to be able to do anything down there
Excellent experience even for for time campers. Located near crystal clear water with stunning picturesque location. There's plenty big and small camp available for first come first serve free of cost (need park permit), toilet facility available and the park manager was very helpful and friendly. Beach is 2 min walk and each camping slot is secluded and feels like private. You may need to go early friday as weekends can be pack specially in summer. There's lookout for most beautiful sunset. We encountered wombat, wallby and ever deer sighting on the way.
Beautiful beaches. Toilets not available on the day area - you need to drive to the campground to access the toilets
Favourite campsite on our East cost trip! Loads of wildlife, amazing views.
Free camping. 2 dump toilets, no running water.
Stunning white sand beach, beautiful rock pools for smaller kids. Wonderful alternative to hiking down to Wineglass Bay, as suggested by locals — but be careful with rips
Brilliant place to freedom camp and big thanks to Dave for sussing out spots for us when we were coming back late in the evening! Much appreciated!
Amazing spot. Park entry fees apply here. Well maintained. Clean facilities. Awesome camp spots. Great fishing.
Great spot, beautiful beaches & the weather was cool at night but clear thru the day with starry nights. Clean toilets.
Great free camp in Tas Park. Limited spaces for motor homes and caravans, best suited to smaller campers and tents who can squish in. Excellent hybrid toilets, onsite park manager, delightful and peaceful location. No phone service (also delightful!) so be prepared when you get here. Gravel road in is very good shape, though everything gets dusty from the 50-60 cars driving by looking for a site. Get in early!
Great little spot by the beach for camping with both tents and campervans. Although a free site, you'll need a Parks pass. Don't leave it much later than 3 or 4pm though as the spots here go quickly. Toilets are available, and plenty of wallabies getting around
Really good spot to stay with a motor home or camper van when visiting Freycinet National Park. There are toilets on site and plenty of wildlife as well. Just be warned if you get there late in the day it is slim picking for a space to stay during the peak season.
Such a gorgeous campsite located near wine glass bay. What makes the this site so perfect is that it is not only located on one of the most picturesque of beaches, but the campsite is completely free! Obviously as it is free campsite the spots are limited and in high demand. Be sure to get in early for two reasons, firstly so you can find a spot to camp and secondly it is a little annoying for campers when you come in late with your headlights on! I’m really glad we stumbled across this campsite.
Great camping and good toilets. However, people really need to respect the site more - I cleaned up onion scraps left behind by the previous campers and some plastic wrappers. It's especially important to leave no trace in an area like this - there was so much wildlife around!
Nice campsites and beach
The campsites are a range of different sizes and have lots of separate bays for privacy it can be hard for larger caravans
And when we went it was packed out
There is also toilets
