Fish Bar

Ordered fish and chips and told wait time would be fifteen minutes. Came back 20 minutes later, and it was not even in the deep frier. Was told it would be two minutes (a tad absurd) returned twenty minutes later and something had arrived. About three centimetres long piece of battered fish and less than one centimetre thick. Pretty much all batter. Chips were old and tiny. Not worth $17: 30. I have been forgiving of two prior shoddy outcomes but three strikes and it’s now out. Not going again. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed.

Food took along time to prepare and half way through cooking was told we can't have our order. Once we finally got our food we were very disappointed with the quality and taste, the potato cakes tasted like vinegar. Would NOT recommend this place.

We just paid over $60 for 8 grilled prawns, a handful of battered chips, and an inedible salad that was completely soggy and old. While the chips were pretty tasty, everything else was disappointing and I'm super surprised at the tiny serve considering the price. Regrettable choice, never again!

I wish I didn't have to select 1 star in order to post a review. Went there on a Sunday afternoon, ordered Chicken Burger & Chips and Battered Trevalli and Chips, the burger cost $16 and the fish and chips $20, was told after I paid that it would be a 20 minute wait (we were wanting to just sit on the beach and eat lunch) order was ready I could see no chips with the chicken burger, asked where the chips were and was told bluntly, that will be another $4, I just said to not worry about it and left, we got to the beach opened our boxes and YUCK! My chicken burger was even chicken it was like a flattened rissole and tasted awful, my partner but into his fish and it was rancid, probably been frozen for a few years and the batter was soft, soggy and oily and even the "no frills" frozen chips were undercooked, food spat out and dumped in the bin. Stay away!

Lovely meal, great service. Hubby had a lamb Samosa, crumbed trevally and chips. 8 had mango prawn curry with pumpkin and potato naan bread and mango coconut lasse. Enjoyed it all very much thank you!

Weren't busy but the wait was ridiculous. Fish was disgusting frozen fish like from No Frills. Not fresh at all and inedible.

Very confusing and we were ripped off with the fish!
Menu board was hand written and not easy to understand. This was not helped by the fact the shop attendant couldn't speak good English, not helped by the face mask. She pounced before I got even close to deciphering the menu. So, we got off to a poor start. Then she wrongly explained the meaning of the family packs (initially we were going to get 3 pieces of fish but the price was for only 1 piece) and she told me the minimum order was 5 potato cakes whereas we only wanted 2. So I paid $16.90 for ' trevalla' & chips ie the family pack, then $10.90 for another piece of 'trevalla' & $5 for 5 potato cakes. Chips & fish sat while the potato cakes were cooking & were cool/cold by the time we started to eat 5 minutes later. Then the so called 'trevalla' turned out to be blue grenadier or Hoki. I'm a Tasmanian, I know what Trevalla looks and tastes like. These people need to get their act together & lesson No. 1 is don't rip off the locals.

Best fish bar and cafe on the beach. Very much impressed with the food and service. Hit chocolate was amazing I've ever had.

What a disappointing experience. We ordered 109 dollars of food to be delivered to be faced with what looked like 30 dollars worth. Some of our order did not arrive and the restaurant only gave a store credit (which I don't want after tasting the food). They were unhelpful on the phone, and not at all apologetic. The fish was nice, but small. The wedges were soggy and didn't come with the sour cream as the menu said. I was so excited but so sad at the end. What a waste of money.

A bit disappointed. Food was ready 20 mins after from the Oz Food Hunter pick up time. This is the site were the menu is located. We ordered the seafood basket. The chips were half fresh, half old with bits of burnt batter in them. The scallop batter was slightly over cooked yet the scallop meat wasn’t completely cooked through. The battered flathead and curbed calamari were tasty and the fresh chips were good. The lady was apologetic about the wait.

For Indian Meals this is a superb place to dine. There is an extensive menu and I've never been disappointed with the dishes that I've chosen. I've also been open to "suggestions" and have tried some of the new items on the menu-to my great delight.
For fish and chips I am not "quite" so enthusiastic. I usually buy crumbed Trevalla with chips for a Sunday treat-and the fish is beautifully cooked and succulent. Yesterday's offering was a bit dry, so a, hopefull rare, aberation from their usual standard.

Best burger in bay. Tried their sweet potato and halloumi chips amazing never tried before.

Burgers were inedible like they were cooked in dirty oil. Wedges soggy and flavourless. Won't order from here again. Also way too expensive!

Spent $62 to have a soggy cold mess delivered chips were stone cold seafood ordovercooked and cold scallops almost black in areas tasteless! Horrible oily taste the sour cream that comes with the wedges was more like a citrus aioli all in all would not order again oh and I could use the calamari as a boomerang to take out a tree

Overcooked fish! Over-priced chips ($6 was the equivalent of 1 large chips at KFC) and unfriendly staff. All for supporting small businesses but this is ridiculous, I definitely won’t be wasting my money there again!

The only place we go for fish and chips. Always fresh, cooked to perfection and a clean environment.
