Elements Cafe reviews
28The prices at this cafe are 40% higher than the price for the exact same items, available at the caravan park office up the street.
We purchased two chicken ceaser wraps. They were absolutely horrible. They were pre packaged meaning you can't see the dry wrap which clearly does not meet health and safety requirements. The wrap was dry as a biscuit with hardly any filling. And what a rip off at 16 dollars each! Take you own food.
Overpriced, unfriendly service and low quality.
We ordered a cup of chips $8 and coffee $7. Chips were cold and chewy, worst I’ve ever had and coffee wasn’t much better.
Was going to treat my kids to an icypole after our walks but at $4.50 for a lemonade icypole we walked straight back out
Prime location, but unfortunately let down by being very overpriced and having miserable staff. If you want good food or coffee for less, head to Cradle Mountain Lodge if it’s after 11: 30, much fairer prices and more options. And there’s a shuttle bus to Dove Lake outside the front door.
The chicken wrap was dry and yuk the pie was cold and the drink from the fridge was hot. Don’t waste your money
.
This place was most expansive and worse sandwiches, I ever eaten in my life!
We paid $34 for 2 sandwiches, the sandwich was a smallest and tasteless wrap, the other one was a Turkish bread with little filling, no mayonnaise or butter, very dry. We would certainly not recommend this place.
Really busy cafe with ok coffee and overpriced, less than average, food. Avoid if possible. We tried it twice and the items made onsite were poor quality.
Muffin and sausage roll was okay.
Price Gouging at its Best! $7 for a large Cappuccino $20 for pesto pasta in a tub. Prices of drinks are not visible until you are next to the till. So sad to see cynical and unethical tourist traps in Tasmania.
Very utilitarian cafe, don’t expect a fancy place. It has only four tables to seat. 100 people were queueing and they were not toasting anything so sandwiches and banana bread were cold.
There coffees were good enough, and staff was nice.
There is no menu to view. The line was 20 people long. Normally people eat at cafes to save time, in exchange for money. But by the time you get served here, you could have made your own lunch at home several times over so the economics don't make sense.
I have a few food sensitivities, so a menu is always good to look at so I can find a good, safe option. Unfortunately, the only way to find a good safe option here is to quiz the service staff at the register. With 20 people in the line behind you. The counter staff were clueless about what's in their products, having to go out the back for every single question. Not wanting to hold up the 20 person line any longer, I gave up and got an overpriced, bland quinoa salad. This could have all been avoided if they only provided a menu to with very basic information to look at in advance.
Rude staff.
Food absolutely, ridiculous prices.
Food absolutely terrible.
Shame on you cafe.
Lift your game.
Drove to Cradle Mountain straight from Burnie. We organised our shuttle tickets and then headed to the Cafe for a cuppa and some breakfast. We were greeted by unfriendly staff in the Cafe. $50+ for 2 coffees and 5 sausage rolls that weren't overly nice to eat was extremely steep and over priced.
I will ensure next visit we take food and a thermos, we will definitely skip the cafe next time.
Unfortunately this cafe is tired and miserable place compared to the lovely information centre with which it shares a building. The staff look and act as though they don't want to be there. The hot cholates we're passable at best. The pie and sausage roll were dried out at midday.
Disappointed with the coffee after reading the reviews. Had a cup of soup for $9.50 which was very peppery and otherwise not very tasty, served with a slice of bread.
I wouldn't recommend planning to visit here before a wonderful day in the amazing scenery. Bring ya own coffee!
Opened late so was nearly late to our canyoning as the staff were gossiping with little intrest in serving the 5 customers who had been waiting paitently since opening (9am). Attitude from both staff and not coffee that was anything special worth waiting for. Staff were also swearing in there conversation.
Furthermore the day before after our hike we wanted a cup of tea and they had closed early and earlier that day there were 3 pies on display at peak lunch hour. Not good or professional in peak season.
Not worth visiting plan to bring ya own snacks and coffee
Great coffee and cakes at very reasonable prices given the location ie cheaper than you expect! Had a nice sausage roll, coffee and vegetable pastie - delicious. Then coconut slice with native berries. Yum. Great place to fuel up before a walk
Good coffee and food. Limited options but quality of food is very good.
However the service we got was quite poor, ordered egg wrap and was served chicken wrap! Ordered macchiato and was served piccolo! May be these guys are understaffed hence the mistakes or could be new staff that needs training.
Coffee was ok, but their serving is too slow - 20 mins for just wrap. Staff just laughed when I complained. Avoid if you want to save time.
No tables or chairs to dine in. You have to take away and sit on the ground outside.
Limited options. Slices, pies, salads etc.
Average quality.
