The accommodation is a little dated, but the panoramic view of the Hazards from the comfortable living area more than made up for this.
Service was excellent: we had a problem with the shower, which was dealt with promptly

Don't judge a book by its cover. Inside with surprise you and the view is all worth the travel.
Cabin rooms were clean, team was very friendly. Thank you. I highly recommend and would come back again.
A breakfast facilities for small children world be good. If people didn't want to cook.

We stayed for one night and wow. Beautiful setting and the cabin was so clean and comfortable with an amazing view from our bedroom. Wallabies wandering in the surrounding areas an amazing experience.
We would have stayed longer if we had more time.

BEWARE - This rather nice hotel has what I consider to be the worst customer service I have experienced in Tasmania. Let me explain:
- We had booked the hotel for for October 2022 and had to change our booking as a result of a family situation.
- We were told this was possible and the dates were changed to April 2023 and the full amount of the payment was paid to the resort.
- We arrived for our stay and were handed a receipt for a fee of some $600 which had been deducted in February and were told that this was a "cancellation fee" in accordance with policy. No mention was made of this at the time of changing the dates and we were told by the site manager it was a matter of "policy"
- We were treated dismissively and inflexibly by the resort and left the property a day early after a very unpleasant meeting with the manager.
- We were called liars by implication, aggressive for arguing our case and ultimately told to leave reception.
- I have travelled extensively in Australia and abroad and regard this as appalling example of someone without focus on or empathy for his customers. Quote from management - "I am not here for the customers I ma here for the property".
BEWARE.

Enjoyed our stay here our cottage was well equipped the views were amazing, my husband enjoyed the row boat and fishing. So quiet and private except for the occasional wallaby who would look through the door at us. We would certainly comeback again.

Clean, comfortable accommodation with fantastic views and plenty of privacy. Great high end restaurant on site. Wallabies roaming the grounds. A true Aussie experience.

My hubby and I had the pleasure of staying one night here on Fri 30/9/22. You could hear the waves crashing all night, lovely serene place, so peaceful and quiet. Stunning. Very friendly place thank you. Beautiful room, very large. We will stay again for sure. We slept very well.

Absolutely stunning, I can't recommend enough. Our ocean view room had uninterrupted views across the bay to the Hazards, with stunning sunset and sunrise vistas each day. We spotted several endemic birds including flame robins in the beautifully landscaped gardens. There was an extra comfortable king size bed, endless hot water and plenty of thoughtful small touches like real ground coffee and a plunger. I recommend taking advantage of the hotel's free row-boats on the beach and paddling around the bay.

The Lure Restaurant is under new management (about 6 months as of May '22) and the food is absolutely divine. A true fine dining experience with exceptional service. The duck ragu was impeccable.

The tea tree (Melaleuca) coloured water might raise eyebrows for some, however melaleuca is a naturally antibacterial and has been used by Indigenous Australians for thousands of years for its medicinal properties. Showering in hot tea-tree water was a treat. I will definitely be returning.

If you’re thinking of popping in for just a coffee to Lure, keep going until you get to Coles Bay. Very unfriendly and rude barista despite there being no-one there, told us to move to a table that wasn't set up without even saying hello, and less than average coffee.

We would like to thank friendly, personable staff at the Edge of the Bay Resort for going the 'extra mile' to accommodate us at such short notice. It provided us with an opportunity to extend a wonderful East coast trip. We really appreciated it, thank you!

Our room was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the Hazards. The property is beautifully located and landscaped. The 20 year old banksia shrub in full flower at the entrance to our room was a sight to behold.

It's an incredibly beautiful natural environment and we made the most of activities on offer, enjoying the many walking tracks and strolls on beautiful beaches. Swimming in the cool, clear water was a real treat. If you are seeking fine dining the Lure restaurant is recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Restaurant was really nice, but our accommodation was very basic and the view wasn't as good as advertised (still not bad).

Right next door to Safire, but closer to the ocean and with a better view for a fraction of the price, Edge of the Bay is perfectly named.
The Hazards fill the entire view from your bed, the ocean is 20 metres away from your deck, and wallabies come up every afternoon in the hope of food.
Rooms are big, bright and modern. A superb bathroom with walk in shower, nice lounge and plenty of space for hanging clothes.
There is a decent guest laundry, but, right now, nowhere to eat as the restaurant is shut. The Ocean View rooms have a toaster, small fridge, kettle, cutlery and crockery so you can make your own breakfast or lunch, but no microwave or cooktop, so, for dinner you need to eat out or arrange a take away from the limited options in Coles Bay.
We were fortunate to escape the Tasmanian ban on Covid location, and so did not have any problems with our booking like many below.
We understand how terrible this time has been for people in the hospitality industry, but given the loss of the restaurant management should consider offering some cooking facilities, such as a BBQ, use of the kitchen in the restaurant or install simple cooktops and microwaves in the rooms. If they did that we'd happily stay here for weeks.
However, to be fair, if you wish to self-cater there are fully equipped cottages.
Resort is slightly overselling this place given the limited facilities, but they have rowboats and bikes to borrow, and tennis courts if you’re feeling energetic and an extensive library of DVDs if you just wanted to chill out. WiFi was okay, good enough to stream Netflix and download.
However, we just enjoyed the view, swam and walked on the incredible beaches right out front.
A wonderful, relaxing break with a 5 star front row view.

Great location! Awesome access to fantastic walks.
Rooms basic, tidy, clean. No internet in rooms.

Great Mountain View! But don’t expect wifi. Owner has no idea how to provide consistent wifi to customers. In fact, they need to remove wifi from their ads! If you book this place, be prepared to tether your phone. And the tap water is NOT dirty! This is local river water with stains from the tree Tannins and fine to drink. Unfortunately that was not explained to us on check in. If you do book this place, bring a couple of cans of mortein as spiders and webs surround the external windows and door frames - especially when it rains. Apart from that, we actually enjoyed Coles Bay!

Virtually all other accommodation/hospitality providers recognise that cancellations due to COVID are unavoidable by the customer. NSW closed to TAS due to Christmas outbreak - but they wouldn’t even credit. I didn’t want a refund - just a credit (they would have made from the other days).

This place doesn’t care about you. Every other place was excellent. And we have rebooked elsewhere.

The place looks nice but the management is appalling and not worth having to deal with - incase anything for your booking needs to change. So many better options around.

Great spot right by the water and very close to the park. The nightly rates are quite high for what you get though, especially since the restaurant is not open. Please upgrade your TVs.these Kogan ones keep freezing and take ages to load content and stream. I enjoyed the beach, wallabies and birds around the property.

A bit expensive but the ocean view from our room to the mountains across was wonderful. 30 second to the shoreline. Wallabies were at our doorstep. Amazing experience!

Was a great stay. Comfortable cabins. Clean. Private. Short walk to the nearest beach. Lots of fabulous wild life to see. And a bit of dolphin spotting.

Resort is amazing but the restaurant is overpriced and their kitchen policy is extremely stringent and non- customer friendly
