East Coast Car Rentals - Launceston Airport

My first time using a rental car and the East Coast car rental made it such a good experience for me.
We booked a car online via ECCR website in October for our new year 2 weeks road trip in Tassie (29/12 til 10/01). I chose to pay the insurance for my piece of mind to make sure we are fully covered and nil out of pocket fee if any unexpected damages, (especially knowing we would be going to many places in this road trip). I paid full amount online, it spelt out that free cancellation until such such date.
I did receive couple of reminders a week and a day before the trip, which I find it very helpful.
On the day after we arrived at Launceston airport, we followed the text instruction to request a shuttle bus for pick up; likewise after we dropped off the car in Hobart airport, the shuttle bus took us to the airport departure. The entire experience was very smooth, I'm very happy with the entire experience and would definitely use ECCR again in the future.

The staff were great. Easy process booking via phone and also when I had to make changes due to flights.
When we picked up the car, they couldn’t have been more helpful. I would recommend and use again. The shuttle was quick too!

Pick up with Azhar was easy and happy to give good advice. Good safe vehicle for the area.

Highly recommend East Coast Car Rental, easy and clear website. All the charges are clear and easy to read, no hidden extras. The car we had was like new and we had no problems at all. The staff at Launceston Airport were super friendly and helpful. We travel to Tasmania every year and this will now be our go to for car hire

I booked a car thru East Coast Car Rentals a day before arriving in Tassie. Not only did they offer the ceapest rates, I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of theor staff.

I had a shuttle pick us up from the airport right on time. I had booked a Camry but they upgraded it to an SUV free of charge.

The car itself was great and made our trip that much more enjoyable.

I highly recommend East Coast Car Rentals for their service, their pricing and their fleet.everything I'd like to see in a rental service.

Always courteous but do the hard sell for upgrades.
Even with the optional excess reduction upgrade the prices are still competitive. The cars are new and generally in good condition.

I chose East Coast car rentals on my recent driving trip around Tasmania initially because the price was significantly lower than other car rental companies and I so glad I did. We were imnediately picked up from the airport by lovely staff and taken to close off site location. Fast friendly service and we upgraded our vehicle to a larger more comfortable option. The car was brand new & awesome to drive. Drop off couldn't have been smoother & they took us back to airport promptly. Everyone we encountered was super friendly. 10/10 amd I will use east coast again next opportunity I get. Thanks

What makes east coast great is not just the quality of cars or the rental prices it’s the staff who make it extra special.though they are situated a 2 min drive away from Launceston airport their pick up and drop off hardly takes any time.special shout out to the staff Azhar, Hafiz & umang for their service & making the experience hassle free.will defn be booking with them again.

East Coast Car Rental need to update their third party platforms to include their current terms and conditions. A customer cannot be expected to know to bring a valid utility bill with their current address to get a vehicle in addition to the actual photo ID. A current credit check, police report, australia post utility bill and multiple bank statements did not cut the mustard. A slightly cheaper rental in this case has not been worth it at all. Cruddy customer service, staff were quite vhallenging to understand anf were quite loud and forceful like this happens all the time. Staff training and policies that are succinct would fix this. Wont try again.

Had a great experience with the East Coast rentals as a whole. I contacted the main reception a few times as well as interacting with the Launceston store. Each time they were very helpful and answered any queries I had. We were offered the upgraded SUV car for an extra $10 a day and I’m so glad I did now after driving up the rough hills of Launceston. Our Hyundai Tucson handled them like no problem and was so Spick and span inside. I was very sad to hand it back after driving it for a week after getting used to all the fancy new tech it had. I’ll look forward to my next Tassie trip and hiring from the boys at the Launceston hub again.

Having initially booked a small hatchback with Budget for a trip around Tasmania, stumbling upon East Coast Car Rentals was a blessing in disguise. Not only were they $500 cheaper, but the vehicle they provided upon request was a small SUV which made the 2,000km worth of travel we did a breeze.

The process was seamless, from organising a free airport shuttle to pick us up on arrival, to allowing us to leave the car outside East Coast Car Rentals upon departure. The car was clean, had no signs of wear and tear despite more than 60,000km on the clock with no problems throughout our trip.

Would happily choose East Coast Car Rentals again for another lap of Tassie!

Nice staff, clear instructions for shuttle bus. Booked a car for 7.30am only to discover they don't open till 8am, and car I booked wasn't available on arrival.

Great price, friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent vehicle, all without skimping on the quality of service. I've been happy with East Coast Car Rentals before, but I found the Launceston branch were particularly good.

Couldn’t be happier with the service, they have been incredibly helpful, reliable and efficient. Hafiz helped me and my son to get on the road and he was so thoughtful and kind. The price is the best you can find in tassie, and their car was modern, well kept and with apple car and adaptive cruise control. I really recommend this company.

Horrendous Customer Service with a Zero Care Factor or Understanding!

I understand it was “ ME “ that left my mobile in the car and take full responsibility for my once off actions.

However, calling the East Coast 1800 number I was asked to call back at 8am. I respectfully advised the operator it was well past 8am when she reluctantly put me through having heard her sigh.

Speaking with the Launceston staff member who was on his way to pick people up from the Airport (fully understanding he’s working to a schedule) he said he would call me back when he got to the car - not giving me a chance to explain my concerns or caring that an East Coast “ Client is distressed - the same client that’s paying his salary! ”.

Advising him this would be impossible as my phone was in the car and I am was Melbourne, to which he replied I have all your details- after repeatedly explaining my self to him - he clearly was just not listening. He eventually said he would call me on the number I was calling on.

He did call back and advised me I would need to send a prepaid express envelope to Launceston and the would put the phone in the bag and send it back to Melbourne.

I said ” surly I am not the first person to do this, there must be a quicker way - offering to pay for the express paid envelope (given that I was a repeat customer X4.

He simply was not interested, couldn’t care and it really wasn’t his problem - it was mine - (I certainly acknowledged it was my problem, my mistake) however listen to a customer- repeat or new - we are the ones paying your salary!

We certainly will be taking our Corporate Business elsewhere! Where the willingness to help customers won’t be such a problem or as this gentleman made it out to be “ an inconvenience for a customer to call and ask for help.

Disgusting Customer Service, No Care, No Concern, No Empathy & Not Interested!

I used East Coast car rentals for the last 19 days, they were fantastic to deal with - there launceston staff were thorough and great blokes - there pricing was ultra competitive and I couldnt fault the way they handles things - I paid for the full insurance option $1500 for 19 days and its the best way to go.much appreciated

The end-to-end experience was excellent from selecting and hiring the car online to the vehicle return. The car was an MG HSs which was a great vehicle to drive although ti took some adjusting due to the indicator and wipers being on the opposite side to my own car.

I highly recommend East Coast Cars rentals and will definitely use them again the next time I need a hire car in Tasmania.
