Dunalley Bay Distillery Tasting Hut reviews
15Fabulous stop & tasting on our way from Hobart to Port Arthur and what an amazing location! Scotch & gin top notch! An absolute highlight of our day & thoroughly recommended!
What a magic find. A very welcoming crew and a great tasting. We took away as many bottles as the airlines would allow. Great gifts. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend buying some fish and chips from the fish market and eating them here (same owner). Superb location and hospitality.
Definitely a must-go place in Dunalley! Amazing Gin, friendly staff, beautiful view, fantastic vibe. I found everything I need for a good day here!
Nice spirits, with a very knowledgeable distiller, that is more than happy to discuss his spirits and what goes into them
No acorns where found but Scratt found something much better
Some of the best gins I’ve tasted. I’ll be ordering more. Great tasting hut and the outlook is fabulous. Keep up the great job.
Such a wide range of gin, something for everyone even if you don’t like gin there’s a gin for you! Great options to sit in and have a few G&T, cocktails and enjoy in the afternoon.
Really nice gin, we were lucky enough to discover it while visiting Port Arthur. We will definitely make it a point to visit the distillery next trip. In the meantime we get to enjoy sharing this wonderful gin with our family and friends, while discussing the time we had in Tasmania.
If you like gin, do yourself a favour and go here! We decided to swing past this distillery after trying out others in the area and my goodness we were not disappointed! The gin here was on another level, ranging from the original classic juniper drys to a broad range of incredible sloes and spins of the original. Mark was super friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated his hospitality. Would recommend this distillery over some other larger known ones around town. I am a avid gin drinker and 10/10 will be coming back and recommending to all of my friends! Thank you Mark.
I've never been a huge liquor fan and came here after seeing the great reviews and didn't expect to get much out of it but some nice photos of the place.
But! The sweet sweet lady (forgot to ask her name) at the counter took me and my family on a journey all about gin! It was so much fun to try the different flavours, she was knowledgeable and we felt so comfortable (unlike ahem the slightly snobby wineries around) I definitely learnt a lot and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this beautiful little spot to all my friends and family coming to Tassie.
We bought a bottle of gin but the real gem was the unexpected but delicious whiskey the owner Mark let us try. I hesitate to write more because I'm hoping to keep this place my own little secret but I kid you not- it beat comparably priced whiskeys from other famous Tasmanian brands right out of the park.
Thank you so much to both Mark and wonderful gin lady for the wonderful experience. It has definitely been a highlight on our trip!
A wonderful range of boutiques gins. The tasting was excellent with a very friendly and helpful host. We found a few favourites to take home with us, well worth the visit.
I am long over due posting this review as we visited Dunalley Bay Distillery at the end of September 2022! What reminded me, is we just finished the bottle of JJJ gin we purchased, along with the spiced gin and also a bottle of blue blue!
Well to say we were blown away is the understatement……. The spot where the tasting hut is located is a little stretch of Paradise right on the bay and we were welcomed in like very old friends!
The hut is rustic yet substantial and there is plenty of places to enjoy the view sipping their hand crafted gins.
Our pick was definitely the JJJ followed by the spiced gin, which is delicious either neat or with ginger beer for a yummy alternative.
All in all it was a great afternoon enjoying their spot of paradise and magnificent range of gins.
Thanks go to Sandra and Mark, the owners who was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable.
Make sure you stop by……. You won’t be disappointed!
The gin left a lot to be desired, the girl on the counter was lovely and doing her best but didn’t make up for the poor gins.
What a brilliant experience.
The bride and I had a sensational tasting session resulting in the purchase of more than we bargained for - we couldn't decide what to buy so we just bought more haha.
All of the spirits we tasted were bloody delicious but the experience was made even better by the young lass serving us, what an asset she is to this fine establishment.
