DS Coffee House & Internet Lounge reviews
64 A great quirky Cafe. Excellent service very friendly. Great food and coffee.
Put it on your list as you travel around tassie.
Have been calling in since building a boat at Franklin 7 years ago and every time we have visited Tasmania since. The atmosphere is very eclectic without being forced with great food and service.
I like it here and so do a lot of others. Good food, good atmosphere. Maybe you'll like it, too.
I just had coffee there this time, but will certainly go back & have food. Great atmosphere.
I didn’t order any food or drinks but me and my friend were out on Saturday looking for water and everywhere was to expensive we only had 2 dollars and then we went into here and they gave us free water and let us sit on the couch until our bus came.
When you get a coffee that is more like coffee flavoured water whilst waiting for food, you know it's not going to be great. The setup was nice, lots of retro furniture and art. It's a cool space. The breakfast came out with toast that could have broken a tooth, yes it was sourdough but the knife was a flimsy butter knife. I bent the fork trying to skewer the cardboard like bacon. Anyways, I'm sure it was an off day and the people were nice. It was good to get some food in before our journey continued.
Wife and I enjoyed breakfast here and I must say it was delicious, the staff were very nice and friendly, met a couple of locals and they were very friendly as well highly recommend
What a fabulous experience, great retro decor, fantastic food, and amazing service.
Worth the trip to Huonville
Food is just amazing lots of choices not to mention the great atmosphere and friendly staff! Highly recommend!
Wonderful. Quirky mismatched decor make a cosy and fun place to sit. Huge variety of food, and every meal we've had has been excellent. We've been coming to DS for many years on holiday to Tas. We finally decided to move here, and honestly being close to this place definitely influenced our decision to live in Huon Valley.
I am genuinely shocked and deeply disturbed by my recent experience at ds coffee house. When ordering my lunch I asked a really simple question about the portion size to ascertain if what I ordered would be enough on it's own or if I should order more and for some unknowable reason the chef took extreme offence to my question and abused me in an extremely intimidating and revolting way. Would he have abused me if I was a man or was it because I am a small women? It was appalling behaviour and I can not believe someone as crazy as him is allowed to work in a customer service position and thinks he can get away with abusing people for no reason like that. The only person in that place that apologised to me for the awful treatment was a very lovely young staff member who was clearly as appalled as me. As for the other man who witnessed it all, he just let the abuse take place and offered me nothing. I really believe people should avoid this place as people like that, who abuse and intimidate, do not deserve your time or your money. Disgusting!
We love this place but over the years the quality of the menu is not so good. A chicken and salad roll was so dry because there was no Mayo or anything else on it. The chicken burger patty was yellow and strong with spices even though the board says chicken mince. The all day breakfast was very minimal. Had to pay $8 extra for 2 serves of mushrooms. Only 2 pieces of bacon. The fried tomatoes had the end still intact and not quite ripe. And after all this, it took nearly half an hour to get our meals on both occasions. Very disappointing guys. The prices you are charging are too much for what you get these days.
Lasagna was average, good milkshakes. Cool theme and layout but will be interesting to see if the theme survives the test of times.
Young guy serving us was friendly but the guy who looked like an owner always had something to say and came across as rude to his own staff.
Incredible place, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. With a couple of friends we were able to enjoy one of the back room, feeling like at home and eating amazing food, specialy the soups.
Best Mushroom soup and delicious bacon buddy. Friendly staff, terrific ambience. Highly recommended.
DS is unique. Not your run of the mill coffee shop. It is great, it's down to earth and it's different. Love going there. Never disappoints and the food is always good as are the staff.
Great coffee and a sublimely delicious West Indian beef curry with papadums and a scoopful of rice. A nice late lunch after the exertions at Tuhane Forest air walk and Swinging bridges
Great meals and love the ascetic of the place. Friendly staff. Blue Heaven milkshake with malt. Revisiting the early to mid 1970’s. Frank Zappa picture as the Mona Lisa
What a great find on our Tassie tour. This cafe is absolutely fantastic. Steve n Dave have a true n great product n very well retro decorated. The food is fresh n tasty n the coffee nice as well. Highly recommended at Huonville.
A friendly, chatty gent greeted us to take our order on a holiday Sunday.
Our lunches (beef nachos and smoked salmon salad) arrived quickly after our hot drinks.
The decor, all retro and vintage items, along with a big display of versions of Mona Lisa, was entertaining to look at while we enjoyed our lunch.
We will certainly go there again.
