Hands down one of the best restaurants in Hobart! Definitely go here as food, atmosphere and service are awesome. We had delicious grilled oysters with bacon, salmon on a hot black stone still grilling to the level that you like it cooked, and seafood chowder that was phantastic with potatoes and vegetables just perfectly blended and then with different seafood added. Absolutely phantastic place and we already booked your next dinner there. Very popular place so definitely go on their website and book in advance as walk ins didn't work for anyone I know.

Today was our last day in Hobart so we came here with full hearts. The food was great, but the friendliness of the staff made sure we had the best time in Hobart. Jack in particular made sure we had everything we needed, and the lady who helped us choose our oysters was very helpful. I highly recommend coming here with Jack!

Drunken Admiral, you tick all the boxes, the food was absolutely amazing. The Prawn Linguine was divine the flavours and they were not shy on prawns. Service was amazing and the atmosphere is great. So many treasures so artfully placed.

Quirky and fun, young but friendly staff, a museum vibe for sure, historic, we thought it was a must do, however, food was a massive disappointment after feeling spoiled and eating the most fresh and delicious produce that Hobart has to offer, it was a let down with a thump, freshness was not there, quality was not present either. Tiny scollops, prawns seemed like they were frozen (shrimp)
This is Tassie the best seafood in the world. Overpriced for what we got.
Overall disappointment.
Side note- Front staff were not very welcoming

Well executed maritime themed restaurant with excellent food. So much to take in and marvel at in every nook and cranny of this cute and cosy but marvelous restaurant. Highly recommend the hot smoked salmon salad.

Atmosphere and service was very good. Nice and friendly. Great wine selection The food however was very average. I had the chowder which was nice but had better in Hobart. The scallops were crumbed and very small and dry.

Won't be disappointed! Clothes smell greasy and fishy afterwards to remember the experience

Feels like you are dining on a ship without the sea sickness.
The ambience was great, cosy with themed decor. I ordered the sashimi but was surprised that it was partly grilled. Was not bad.
Also ordered the bread crumb scallops which was yummy. I appreciate that I had the option of skipping the fries.
Service was just ok. I overheard a customer complain that there was chilli in the chowder. The staff kept insisting there wasn’t. I thought that even if there wasn’t chilli, a more diplomatic and hospitable approach could have been taken by the staff. Made me feel like that customer’s business was not wanted and I wouldn’t rush back there again. Hence, the 3 star rating.

Was ok. Arrived early, no booking, sat at the bar (no tables free) for a good meal of long awaited Tassie scallops. Had better, and why do they serve crumbed? Lots of families eating there, staff were friendly enough. I did like the cozy atmosphere though.

Ordered an entree size chowder & rice. $16.95 for a tiny bowl of soup of which none of the seafood were large enough to discern & $4.9 for rice is too much. There were also decorations of mermaids with exposed bosoms which I found very inappropriate.

Amazing place once you enter you feel you are in a ship. Excellent service and the food is just from another world. Definitely the best seafood in Tasmania. Friendly staff.

Excellent! It’s very interesting interior, lots details to observe while you are waiting and when you enjoy food in a big variety.

Whilst it is a bit pricey, the drunken admiral is definitely a place I would return.
The presentation was excellent if all meals, the flavour was good, and the wait time was reasonable considering how busy it was.

My only minor issue was the servers (who were all wonderful) didn't serve one table at a time, but served a few meals to several tables so there was a small delay for everyone's meals so the group could eat together.

Other than that, we would definitely return.

Really nice restaurant as long as you have a booking. Food was great, and the atmosphere is spot on. Friendly staff, although it was a bit cramped. Would definitely come again.

Excellent service and great dishes. This was our splurge dinner whilst in Hobart and we probably got off light spending less than $200 to feed a family of 4.

Seafood was fresh and tasty, however, very overpriced for the small portion sizes, left feeling hungry even though we spent $100 - bit of a tourist trap

Really atmospheric restaurant who were accomodating for our request for a seat in the corner or against the wall. The hot rock salmon was the star of the show. The seafood chowder and salt and pepper squid was good but overshadowed by the amazing salmon dish.

Quite expensive, but very delicious. Although we thought the surf n turf was a bit disappointing for the price.
