Devonport Visitor Centre reviews
18While in Devonport waiting to catch the ship back to the mainland, we stopped in to pick up some brochures and get information. Friendly and helpful staff with good advice.
We stopped in to get some info on Devonport. The ladies there were really helpful and friendly. We bought a map and also checked out the art gallery. They were very LGBT friendly.
Such a lovely lady helping me today, telling me all about the area, very helpful, thankyou
Very helpful info. Worth popping your head in to ask all the questions. Nothing is to hard for them.
Awesome people there. The woman was very friendly gave me plenty of maps and information for my trip. She even offered to print my national Park pass. Thanks a lot.

What a very nice place
We where lucky the market was on some very nice food there and arts and crafts as well I brought I a print from a lady that caught my eye.
This place have told many lies to us as we weren't locals but knew a lot about Devonport, they say that Devonport invites retail and that ALL staff are friendly in ALL stores, which I know is a lie as I have found loads of rudeness by staff here in Devonport. They also lie about visitor information and other things, etc. Devonport is not a tourist attraction, it is a city where the staff and people of this centre neglect people into thinking their lies are true. I do not recommend for infomation about Devonport.
Great assistance by the staff and only to happy to help me locate a rather difficult to find map of the Penguin- Cradle walking track. Thanks ladies.
The visitors centre has quite a lot of useful guides to Tassie. It’s located across from the port where The Spirit Of Tasmania docks
Spot on we are Victorian mainland retirees on tour and the lady was very helpful on what I had in mind. Thank you we loved the maritime museum and the trip up to Sheffield and around to Railton do not miss the animal shrub display in the side street in the centre of Railton. Its at a cross road in Railton with a small finger sign only 50m off the main street.
I have only visited here once so based on first impressions, the place is very informative as expected but the lady who gave us information wasn't listening to our inquiries but wanted to instead promote a part of Tasmania that we advised we were not actually going to. Other than that, it's a visitor centre and the people were okay advisers.
The lady who served me knew nothing and actually asked why I would want to go to a lavedar farm "there is just lavendar there and a shop"!
Devonport is a real little Tasmanian secret. I was there in the Winter, yes, freezing cold but it made the setting even more spectacular. The town is on a beautiful harbour, with a lovely beach. The vista is stunning - The Spirit of Tasmania makes it even more interesting. It is a great town to walk around, lovely food, interesting attractions and close to other parts of the region.
The people at the Visitor information centre are terrific.
Always good for information, post cards, the Taslink bus to Launceston leaves from there, at 8am, handy for Launceston airport. As the airport shuttle, leaves from the transit centre, that it stops at in Launceston.
Fantastic staff. Greated as soon as we came in even if busy. Didnt have to wait long for what we needed and great advice. Best service in an info centre I have been to.
