Devils Door cafe and winebar reviews
23What a fantastic find of a store. Perfect for a drink on a lazy afternoon. Beautifully friendly staff and fantastic produce!
We went to this cafe today, no longer a cafe, no tables or chairs. Just take away coffee and few cakes. The menu on the website doesn’t exist.
Great coffee, friendly service, and open when other places aren't bothered to.
We will definitely return. Thank you!
No longer a cafe or wine bar. It's now a shop selling Tasmania products with takeaway coffee and a few cakes. No tables or chairs. The menu on the website doesn't exist. Not what the website claims it is.
Absolutely delicious breakfast for four adults and a toddler. The avocado and mushrooms were generous, eggs perfectly done and juice, tea, coffee were very enjoyable. Friendly service, and helpful with an active toddler.
I had a great experience today when I went for breakfast. I’ve ordered the vegetarian breakfast and was a big plate full and everything was well cooked, nice and fresh bread and a delicious juice. I’m glad that I found this place as sometimes it’s a bit hard to find vegan/vegetarian options and this one was perfect even for two. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Would recommend this place 100% if you are looking for excellent relation price-quality of food and a quiet place.
A great place for Tasmanian everything.food, wine, beer, cider, gifts. Great coffee and food. A definite stop off if you're someone visiting Launceston and lovely for locals too.
Nice cafe with good food and service. Didn't try the wine Bar but menu looked extensive. Worth a visit.
The hot chocolate I ordered was just warm and not hot at all. The devils breakfast I ordered was below average with the bacon being cold when I received it, the bread being burnt that I couldn’t eat it and the sausage tasted like a piece of rubber. Did not enjoy it at all
Great ambience and no intrusive"music/noise". If you want a place to eat or just enjoy a coffee and be heard, this is it.
Launceston is full of nice cafes and bars, I was invited my a friend to this cafe, ever since I have been coming everyday to try different things. This is a awesome cafe. I tried the filipino breakfast it was amazing, there chicken soup is by far one of the best home made style soup I have ever had. I tried the pea and ham soup. It was also very yummy. I also had this chicken curry, it was almost like a Thai style curry, and on my last day I had avo, bacon and cheese melt, The coffee is strong but amazing it’s not bitter at all. I highly recommend this cafe. The staff are supper friendly and polite. The cafe has a great feel about it. Support local cafe during this time! Can’t wait to come back)
Rachael made it incredibly easy to celebrate my birthday at Devil's Door. My guests loved the venue and the platters.
Trying to organise two bowls of soup was like an episode of Fawlty Towers and almost as funny. As we waited 20 minutes for ours to arrive, we were treated to the sights and sounds of the owners enjoying their own bowls of steaming soup peppered with a running commentary of their tax woes. However, when our orders were eventually delivered by the chef herself, one was stone cold, the other not much better. The front of house staff were nowhere to be seen and were still absent when we tried to pay our bill. Unfortunately, they were still missing in action when we tried to leave through the front door, which had been locked. We couldn't escape! Perhaps the delivery man who had been pushing his trolley of supplies through the main eating area earlier had inadvertently tripped the deadlock.
We had breakfast here today and it was terrific.
The funny thing was we didn't even know that they were there.
My partner had suggested going to sweetbrew which turned out to be closed for the day and then we noticed the devils door right next door.
I had a big bowl of pea and ham soup while Deb had the chorizo hot pot and both meals were very impressive.

Snuck in here for breakfast - walked in and the Doors were on the playing on the sound system, which was brilliant! Great decor and presentation - books available for you to read with your morning coffee etc.
Food was meh - not too sure if that’s because I am from Melbourne and my Melbourne bias and snobbery is taking over. My bacon tasted like it had been sitting in a bain-marie for quite some time as the colour of the bacon was quite dark, and was hard and chewy, the remainder of the dish was okay.
Lovely friendly service and the food and coffee were nice but there is no ambience, sadly, and on a Winter's day it was quite cool inside with the door open. (If the door had been closed it would've been difficult to know the place was open for business.) The staff try hard but the menu is lackluster.
What a little gem! Fantastic gourmet food and very affordable! Lovely little library out the back to have a read with your morning coffee. Nice selection of Tassie Gins too!
A friend and I came in here Saturday 1 May. Have never been, which was a bad oversight on our part. Beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and the friendliest service man I’ve met. Couldn’t have been more helpful, knowledgeable and didn’t judge us on how we looked (weekend trackpants lol). We had bacon and egg toasties and a coffee. It was only $10 and was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend people coming here
What an unexpected find! This lovely little cafe has a brilliant selection of Tasmanian wines at reasonable prices. We enjoyed a Tasmanian cheese platter and a glass of wine under the canopy of large trees.
Great little place. Quiet, cosy and great selection of wines. Service was impeccable, as was food and wines. Top little spot to catch up.
