Derby Park reviews
39Cheap public camp first in best dressed. Easy ride close to trail head and lots of other great riding tracks. Great amenities and close to creek and lake for swimming.
Great location by the river and close to the trails.
We arrived at 3: 30pm and got a free spot right by the river.
Clean toilets and showers.
Water tap available.
Great kids playground.
We hired 2 adults and 2 kids bikes from Derby Bike Shop - highly recommend them.
One of the most pristine towns you can ever visit, we were heading south and couldn’t believe the views that were on offer
Dog friendly campground. $ 20 per night. $5 for a 4 min shower. Next to pub and river 2 min ride to trailhead
Before Derby became a Mountain Bike centre we stayed more than once at Derby. The free campground right beside the wonderful Ringarooma River is a delight. The town itself is small but has some great attractions.
The improvements made here in the last few years are fantastic. Lots of public toilets and showers. It's very busy over school holidays.
We enjoyed the facilities. Very clean and well kept grounds and toilets. Beautiful spot. Loved the are.
Good clean facilities including hot showers. $4 for 4 minutes. Pubs & takeaway in close proximity. Great spot beside the Cascade River. Kids playground. Highly recommend.
Toilets and showers are very clean. Great spot if you're planning on riding the trails there. Can get quite busy over the weekends.
Great facilities with toilets and showers cleaned every morning! Bbq available.
Location is amazing, next to the river and 5 mins walking distance to the bike shops.
Free Camping site in Derby close to shops.
Very clean Big park by the side of river and close to the centre with cafes, Bars and shops within 5 mins walk. Park is big enough to fit like 50-60 caravans. 6-7 Clean Toilets with shower. I think you’ll have to pay for water for showing in vending machine nearby.
Must visit place if you are travelling this way.
Very popular, had trouble finding a spot to park, great for the economy of this lovely little town
Derby MTB trails in mid spring end of school hols was excellent. The birds were singing, the creeks flowing and the mud sticky. Recommended. Family friendly venue.
Great camping, very clan amenities $4 for the shower but well worth it. Loved they had fire pits just brink your own wood. Definitely stay again
Wonderful clean HOT showers, the amenities block is very well maintained.
A few more cement/bitumen pads would make this a triple A spot, as Tassie is quite wet so tracking in wet muddy shoes to the van/tent/campervan isnt great.
Well done Derby for making holidaymakers feel welcome
Great campground, inclusive of toilets and showers ($4 for 4 minutes) which are cleaned every morning
Need to update the surface, its not rain friendly for tents
Need a camp kitchen ie sink bench, undercover.its derby big bucks.
It's free, what more can you ask for? Well. There are 4 dollar showers (takes 1 and 2 dollar coins) that are clean and powerful. Close to the river and next to the best MTB tracks in the southern hemisphere!
Excellent tracks, we did the beginnings up to blue. We stayed in the free camping ground. Excellent toilets and showers. Don't forget to take $4 in coins for the showers. Also a good clean bbq. We went swimming in the river and this was excellent. Please note we saw a tiger snake on the river bank and other people were telling us about snakes on the track. Its a great bush area so just be careful during summer. 5 stars.
