Culinary king Indian restaurant reviews
63Ordered chicken vindaloo very friendly nice people but vindaloo was very depressing tasted like spicy tomato sauce not authentic at all I come home cooked my own vindaloo using Deep vindaloo paste and was much better.
Great tasty food, quality, fresh produce and good portions. Best butter chicken I have had! Lovely welcoming service. I recommend!
Ordered on Menulog. We had 5 spoons each of butter chicken (mild) that was very spicy. We ate because we were starving. After one hour I vomited, after two hours my wife vomited. We spent a full night awake taking medications and trips to toilet. We are native to spices and all.
We were visiting Hobart for the 1st time from Sydney and looking for good Pak/Indian restaurants. The King came up on the top of the search.
Such an amazing food and rich cultural atmosphere. Nice people running this great place. Would definitely recommend this!
We wanted to try some different cuisine and found this place. Honestly, I am unfamiliar with Indian Cuisines but this place is great.
Portions looked little but were very filling that we didn't even finish it all and had to take away the food. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we had as everything were very flavourful.
I'm so glad to have found this place. I am pleased with the nice people, very warm and friendly. The only downside for me was the bathroom upstairs. I am kind of a scaredy cat and the bathroom was kind of scary looking.
Loved everything though, would love to come back to try more
Driver of a red toyota with Culinary King signage seems to think the rules don't apply to him and decided to use the bus lane to bypass traffic.
Worst chicken Biryani I ever had.they can put name as a chicken fried rice and on top of that chicken smells bad. Dont ever try this dish if you are familiar with how chicken biryani taste. The portion was too tight comapred to price. Really had bad experience!
No taste in Chicken biryani! It was like a fried rice and the portion is like a kid meal! Too expensive for what I get here! Butter chicken was fine though!
Best Indian restaurant, Friendly family business and authenfic traditional indian cooking. The food is delicious
Had dinner here with friend while visiting Hobart, staff were friendly and welcoming, nice food, generous serves and reasonable prices, would come back again and would recommend to others
My partner & I ate here tonight. We had tandor chicken, cauliflower entree, butter chicken & lamb Jahal. Best Indian food I've had in years. Lovely lady doing front of house, relaxed and famly vibe. Will tell anyone popping down to North Hobart to try +
Starter forgotten and after a reminder it was brought out when we'd almost finished meal with no apology. Not great service and not friendly. Lamb was good but Peshwari naan bread was pretty tasteless. Plates were cold. Disappointing.
I placed the order through the Menulog but they declined my order. I called them they did not give any genuine response. Never going to order again
Had a lovely meal with so many highlights in the tandoor mixed platter, chicken tikka masala, and freshly cooked naans. Lovely family who make it their purpose to ensure you are looked after. Thanks Annam and family. Pick this restaurant if you are undecided between the 4 Indian eateries on Elizabeth Street.
One of best Indian Restaurants in Hobart, I felt like I was living in india the food really gives a good taste of the culture and tradition! Keep it up Gyz^^
I don't usually eat Indian food, so I didn't know exactly what to choose. I followed my intuition and I tried an entry that I don't remember the name right now but I remember the taste, it is that one with couliflower with two sauces, one salty, and the other sweeter So good! I am a couliflower lover, so I loved it, especially with the sweet sauce. And I tried the Beef Bombay and garlic Naan. Everything so delicious!
Thank you for the service in Christmas!
Very very slow service. Nearly an hours wait for takeaway. Our mixed vegetable platter was really nice but the lamb rogan josh and saag aloo were pretty ordinary.
We took our family here a couple weeks ago on a Saturday evening. Our first choice was unavailable. But boy am I glad, because the food here is undoubtedly the best Indian food I have ever eaten! Everyone enjoyed their meals. The Naan bread was nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The dishes were so full of flavour and the rice came in a generous portion to share. Everyone left satisfied. The couple who own it are great to talk with and are polite and genuinely wanted to know how their dishes were. We ordered a range of heat levels from mild to medium hot. They were great at explaining the heat scale and they were pretty accurate. I would go back in a heartbeat. Top notch stuff, great job!
The food was delicious. We appreciated the personalised delivery. Would recommend this restaurant for delivery.
Terribly small portion sizes, lacking flavour, watery Murgh Malai Methi, cheese and garlic naan was the only saving grace and even that wasn't amazing. Extremely disappointing considering how much I enjoyed this restaurant in the past
