This is the first time that I have ever rented a motorhome and Cruisin Motorhomes in Tasmania did not disappoint me. Ali at reception was friendly and very pleasant. He gave us a fairly new motorhome that worked well for us. It had air conditioning and heating in the main cab and that meant we were kept very comfortable throughout our evenings at various campgrounds. The vehicle’s engine was strong and dependable, and it dealt with hilly roads well. It wasn’t all perfect, however, as the driver cab air conditioning did not work right from the start and the guys at Cruisin were unable to fix it during our journey. But they tried their best. Luckily the weather was not hot. By opening the windows the air was cool enough for us while driving, even in the towns we toured in Tasmania. When we returned the motorhome, the staff, especially Ahad, were apologetic about the aircon and gave us a small rebate on the rental of the vehicle. I’m going to rent from them again when I embark on my lap of Australia in a couple of months’ time. Can I recommend them? Definitely!

Definitely do not bother hiring one of these due to the absolutely pitiful customer service we received (or maybe I should say, total lack of service). Complete rip off and made our trip a real nightmare!
We hired a van for our 3 week trip and had nothing but issues, the fridge wouldn't work for more than ten minutes once stopped because the battery was so flat. Meaning we had to stop every night at a powered site to pay for a power hook up or we had no fridge.
Number two - one burner on the stove wouldn't work, when I rung and questioned I was instructed to pull the stove apart and try to clean it, with a screwdriver, we paid over $3000, why should I be carrying out maintenance on something that is part of a service. So we had one gas cooker to cook meals on.
Then we got rear ended (not at fault accident) and had significant damage to the rear door. I rung up to report the accident and filled out the paper work, questioned if we could swap the van as it had accident damage, I got told to 'just climb through the side door and leave the back door closed', the locking mechanism was broken which meant from then on we were unable to lock our van at any time - meaning all our belongings were at risk of being stolen, the rear door also opened when we were driving on the highway at 100kms/h because the latch was also broken. We basically then had to jam the rear door closed ourselves and hope that it stayed shut.
To top it off the van then ran out of front brakes and was making a terrible grinding noise whenever we had to stop or brake. That was pretty much the only time the company seemed to care, maybe they realised that if we crashed with no brakes they would have been at risk of a lawsuit.
I recommend staying clear of these money thieves.

The clutch of our motor home needed TLC and a few other minus things. Otherwise, we had a great experience.

Me and partner arrived and were treated to an upgraded larger van which was amazing for our road trip of tazzy!

Great customer service and very helpful staff, definitely recommend these guys if you’re looking to explore Tasmania.

Scandalous, huge scam from cruisin! I did not subscribed to the insurance so I had to deposit $ 5000 of guarantee. They have been keeping me waiting for over 5 months now! Stay away from this company!

SCAM! Rental employees threaten to charge you hidden fees unless you give the company a 5 star review. Our vehicle broke down 3 separate times although there were claims that our vehicle was recently fully serviced to prevent this issue. I do not recommend.

Even if you return the van in perfect conditions they charge you 5000$ as a deposit and it lasts in my case one month to have the money back (still waiting) Besides that if your credit card is not Australian they charge you almost 100€ more for the currency exchange (when they charge you the 5000$ and when they give you the refund. In total almost 200€ - no AUD) and this is not refundable.

About the van it was good, less the leak that it had in the ceiling at the top bed. In march it was freezing in Tassie so the friends who were sleeping there should wear even the hat and the jacket. Every morning we should leave everything outside to let it dry. Furthermore, two of the doors of the furniture inside should be repaired by us more than once during the two weeks that we were traveling. When we commented these points in our return they just said: ok, do you want to report something else? Thank you.

So…good van, more or less, but not a really good service.

My first van offered was not as pristine as I would have liked. Cushion covers all frayed and when I open the fridge, the smell was putrid almost to the point of dry reaching. They took the van away to try to rectify the problem. It was returned and did smell better but that didn't last! On driving the van around the next day {luckily I was staying in Hobart for a few days} the engine light came on, it was quite slow in acceleration and very rough driving. I phoned and took the van back. After much discussion they replaced the van which was much better and the fridge didn't smell!
I have since returned home after a 4 week hire. I had a minor accident which they charged me an admin fee to make sure there was no damage and said it might take a little longer than 2 weeks for the return of my $5000 bond.
It has now been 4 weeks since I returned the van and after 2 emails, with no response and then a phone call, was told my bond will be deposited within 24hrs. There was no explanation for the delay or the lack of response to my emails and why it was a phone call that got things moving.
Having said all of this the 24hrs has passed and still no return of bond money which they have had for 8 weeks earning them interest and me losing interest on the withdrawn money.
I would never use them again.

Shocking Motorhome and service. 10 days and found to have intermittent hot water, the shower head was busted, no toilet paper or hose tap connector to use the water.

It got us around the state but with various issues such as a full loss of acceleration, twice. We sent an urgent email and was not tended to for another 5 days. We were called by the more arrogant person saying it is all our fault and I was driving with my foot on the brake and accelerator at the same time, hahha. You drive this and it is impossible to do that unless you physically swing your leg across to sit on the pedal as a relaxing driving position has your leg at least 1 foot away from the brake.

Dismissive staff upon arrival and since. There is no connection to the complaints and the reservations team even said they cannot contact them direct as they are not in the area (I suspect Philippines). Airhead response from the complaints and still 1 month later trying to resolve.

Very convenient Hobart location so close to the airport. The Fiat Sandpiper was clean, complete, well fitted out, easy to drive and everything well explained online and by the team, they were charming, gave us a couple extra bits and easy and quick on the drop off.

It was great- better than expected. Kitchen utensils were in great conditions and good quality. We had a great night, quite confortable and warm for tassie weather. Good quality service too, highly recommended.

Had a great time in the 6 berth motor home with 5 of us. Very economical as well easy to drive, will be coming back again. Easy and great customer service
