Bit disappointing and expensive for what you get. Staff are a mixed bag some were a bit cranky but one girl was nice. Service was a mixed bag too. Make an effort for some things but then dorm egive you enough cutlery or water or napkins. Have to keep asking for things. Banquet seems like a scam and the way it's written in the menu is confusing. Got banquet with 4 plates cost $90 and ended looking the same portion size as the two plates ordered separately for around $16 each. Lot of money for a few bytes of food prety average food. Staff look like they'd get angry if we said abything so we just shut up because didn't want to ruin the special occasion.
They should just say 4 plates for $60 and save the confusion and feeling ripped off. Unless that's the intention ‍️.
If anyone considering the banquet just don't. Just order the plates you want unless it's just two of you. Calamari and colliflower was great. Chicken tenders were dry and plain. Halumi cheese was super salty, and chicken wings were prety meh. Cotails were below average and I couldn't finish my scotch was just weird.
Asside from that full sized meals looked really good but I didn't get one. Maybe next time. Was not satisfied when I left after paying a tonn of money had to go get something else to eat.

Place was great in every way.

Had a testing paddle of beers that I loved and also enjoyed a banquet of four dishes. The octopus was perfect, smokey and tender and the ocean trout was subtle and delicious among other treats. This is a good night out!

What a brilliant bar and lovely space for the locals to come and enjoy. The beer is amazing and so many variety of flavours to enjoy. Personally I drank the IPA, XPA and the Porter (though I may argue the latter is a Stout).
The place has a young, hip, vibe and an atmosphere to rival any local brewery in Australia. It is truly a trendy, funky, place, with good comfort and staff.
I dined from their restaurant and this is where they fell a little short, for mine. I ordered a steak, Porterhouse, and the finest from their menu. While I have absolutely no question on the quality of the meat, it was a fine cut, it was unfortunate that the chef was unable to give the love the meat deserved. I ordered rare and was delivered medium-well, at best. I made a point of complaining about this, despite my natural instinct, to Chloe, who was amazing and very personable when I was dealing with her during. I'd spoken to Chloe at the bar previously while ordering drinks and found her very engaging, as well as observing her directing service and managing other staff. When I received my meal the first time, I got a knife and no other cutlery, I had to go to the bar myself for it. After that I voiced my concern with how my steak was cooked. They took it away from there and re-did it. Chloe came over to me while I was waiting and apologised, offering a free beer for my trouble, I thanked her and reiterated I didn't want anything free, only wanting the rare steak I had ordered. Chloe made sure I had all the cutlery I needed and still insisted on the free drink she offered, even though in my instance it was not necessary, but appreciated. My new steak then came, while the meal was well presented, it was better cooked than the previous, it was also not rare, as requested, and closer to medium or possibly medium-rare. Based on my experience, almost everything is amazing with this place, the beer is fantastic, the establishment is warm and modern, Chloe is as much a joy at the bar as she is on the floor, the food seems to be of a very high standard, it just needs that small amount of polish to make it a cut above the rest. Overall very well done.

I came with a large group of 12, and we were all looked after so well by the staff. Food is great and the vibe is awesome! We all really enjoyed trivia too. Thanks to Andrew for spending some time with our team giving us a glimpse into the journey of Communion Brewing, definitely a must visit if in the area.

If you are a beer person, yes you have to visit the place. Each beer seems to have a history behind it.
This is the first place where I felt each beer had an attitude by itself.

One of the finest - state of the art - restaurants with a retro touch! Must visit place in Burnie for dins if you're in the town. Recommend hassle free online booking through the website as peeps are quite busy in the restaurant during opening hours. Food is amazing and service is super friendly but could get somewhat busy on mid week and Friday. They offer locally brewed stuff and also a wide variety of internationals from the bar. This is the most amazing indoor contemporary and cozy design I've ever seen in Tassie. Love those retro Vestaboard in the bar and cozy fireplace in the lounge. Music is amazing and is geared with Bose S1 system if I'm not wrong.

Overall was a good experience. But food options are a bit lacking. We had the steak which was under cooked to what was requested. We added the pawns to it (3 for $9) and minus the chimichurri sauce plus we got a side of chips. The charred vegetables were 2 pieces of broccolini. So overall was a little disappointed with the food but was still well presented and service was good. The drinks were great. We would go back to try again.

Excellent ambience and great range of beers from easy drinking beers for non beer drinkers to IPAs for those who prefer bigger hops aroma's and flavour. Live music, kid friendly areas, and a good range of food.

I would rate this place and 11/10 as both Chloe and Brittany went above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure both me and my partner had the best service possible on my birthday

Ordered oysters natural, garlic bread, Ocean trout.
Garlic bread was light and cheesy a great side along with the oysters.
Oysters came with pickled ginger, caviar, bacon. Superb.
Ocean trout had very crispy skin, and fish itself was perfectly cooked so it was still a bit translucent and moist. Most fish restaurants usually cannot get this right.
Service was friendly and efficient. A lovely lunch with some great live music

This is a premiere venue in Burnie. Recently opened in late 2021, this has certainly had an impact.
Home grown, self built and industrially bespoke, this venue is hard to match.
The brew pub is based around Burnie's first and only home grown brewery.
Beers here are delicious and hand crafted, something for everyone and if beer is not your thing, great wines and cocktails.
The food is top notch, premium, with a focus on locally sourced. There are full meals and great sides/snacks. You can drop in for a brew and wings or stay for a full meal. Good special diet options.
It's a big venue, plenty of seating choices and even has a kid's hang area to keep them out from under your feet.
It's a must visit and highly recommended to book ahead on the weekends.
New menu coming out is looking amazing.

Just passing through Burnie and popped into the new local. How lucky are these guys to have such a ripper spot. Quality in every aspect. From the food choices and staff attentiveness to layout and decor, the beer is delicious. We did order a lot to share, the oysters were really good and not just totally natural but came with some tasty little dots of ginger and some other things that made them that little bit more interesting. Cheese Platter was very large, great value for money and I also had the bao which were a flavor bomb! My one issue is that I didn’t have any space left for dessert! Sunday arvo sesh even includes live music from what I’m assuming are some of Tassie’s finest. The theme of “not for us alone” rings true as the community comes to share in the spoils of Communion.

Chapel fan looking to Communion for similar vibe. Sat at a booth but as a voluptuous goddess shape fixed in table made for an uncomfortable squeeze. Limited menu lots of chicken my fellow diners loved the Parma & Asian pork belly options. I had the Chicken wings with bourbon wings not very meaty served luke warm with a wilted handful of green on top. Everyone enjoyed various beers on tap, nice vibe but ……. Needs a 2nd visit.

Very nice to see a local brewery having a go in Burnie. Andrew and Lydia have done a great job. I came here recently and enjoyed the "Paper Maker" beer, which says a lot as I'm not typically bullish on beer.

The Cajun burger was nice also. I found the sauce very flavorsome without being overpowering.

Andrew was kind enough to give us a look behind the scenes and relay the story of how communion brewing co came to be. Their effort and persistence has rightly paid off. The venue is top notch, open and in a great location. I'm sure I'll be back again.

Enjoyed the experience, thought the price on the steak was a little dear, as my wife got the steak no veg and still charged the same price. Wings were great and the fatboy chips were really well done

The food was good but over priced. The whisky was terrible, like really terrible. And the ladie on service was soooo rude. Wont be going there again. PS This is the first 1 star review I've given, it truly was a waste of money and time.

Not sure really booked a table 2 weeks ago then when we arrived it wasn't the table I booked. Staff not very many smiles.
Steak over cooked but the vegies were lovely
And no mocktails for some of the girls who don't drink Alcohol.
Would I go back yes I would to give them another try.
I know its really busy at this time of the year but my 1st experience disappointing sorry to say
