Clarence Aquatic Centre YMCA reviews
16Don't come for a shower if you're male. No hangers, no temp control and bipolar temperature water, prison style showers, your belongings will get wet unless you leave them under the theft disclaimer sign.
I like this pool. The change room facilities are somewhat basic compared to the Doone Kennedy Hobart aquatic centre but what is excellent about it is they don’t convert it into 25m size, it’s always 50m format whenever I’ve used it. It’s never too busy and the staff are friendly.
Staff are so lovely, helpful and friendly! It's great having the three different pools all at different depths. The toys in the baby pool could use a revamp, they're very old and most are broken.
Really good facility, doesn't stink of chlorine, helpful staff and family change rooms available which is a big help if you have a little one, toddler pool with toys was fun and then used middle size pool for swim practice with bub.
Great pool with a BBQ area for all to use, the staff at the front counter however left alot to be desired with the rudeness and attitude.
Great pool for toddlers. We can get too distracted at the Aquatic Centre in town and don't do any swimming. The Clarence pool has a splash pool for play and the small childrens pool is only 0.5M deep, so my toddler can swim, but also stand when he wishes.
Happy with the lessons provided by the swimming instructors. The pool is good and the water and centre is warm enough (the cold was a problem at another swim centre I took the kids to). The admin has been a bit disappointing on a few occasions though: incorrect data entry of names and email address and needing to follow up due to a lack of follow through or error by staff. At the end of the day its about the lessons and I've been happy with those - hence 4 stars.
Good community pool. Toddler area was a bit gross.looks like people are allowed to have food in there and a lot of them leave their rubbish behind on the tables and floor. Not a good combination when you have kids playing in the water on the same spot.
This pool is fantastic, perfect for kids. They have a choice of a fenced toddler pool, and another one for bigger kids. Staff were really friendly and the lifeguards were excellent. Worth a visit.
Grandson is learning to swim here. He loves it plus he can see other grades practising at the same time. Swim coaches are great.
Great temperature, not overpriced, not too chlorinated, hot showers (when available), decent change room (when available), always friendly staff, love swimming here, great atmosphere.
Its great place to take kids to swim or self to have a dip they got learn to swim class go have a try for your self
School swim lessons, instructors were amazing, plenty of spectating space and change rooms were clean very enjoyable
Love this pool. It's also reasonably priced. Lovely people come to swim here. So always be ready for a quick chat. The only down side is it does get crowded in the morning due to water aerobics closing down 3 lanes.
The Clarence pool has been a fantastic place to swim since moving to Hobart.
We have always managed to go in the evenings when there are often lanes for lap swimming completely free!
By buying our sessions in advance we are able to swim for a very good price.
Went here to swim some laps after work. Worst swim I've ever had. There was only one lane for people who were exercising; so was uncomfortably crowded. Plus they cut of half the pool for a 'clean' and didn't tell anyone when they were done. So the people exercising were stuck swimming 25m of one lane. Change rooms are pretty manky with toilet seats not properly attached to the toilet.
