Nov 2023: we found Choi's Kitchen on recommendation of a pub down the road. Everyone else was closing up for dinner, and it was only 19: 30 on a Sunday evening. And we were delighted with the outcome. The couple running Choi's were both wonderful and lovely. They accommodated us with a smile and the food was prepared promptly. Meals were absolutely delicious and everyone enjoyed their choices. We'll definitely be back, even if the other venues are open.

I was dissappointed with the food. The order process was easy and for what I paid I would have expected a higher quality product. It could have been what I ordered but the "staples" that I use to benchmark have never failed me.

The food was amazing and great service. Their dessert, fried ice cream, was surprisingly good. Friendly staff, definitely will come back again.

We get takeaway from here nearly every week and it never disappoints. Love the lemon chicken and chicken chow mein. Highly recommend

This is a real gem of a place in a part of the island not renowned for its top-drawer Asian cuisine. If you are dining-in, give yourself plenty of time because you will be competing with the busy takeaway trade - another good sign I always reckon. After the traditional openers of Vegetarian Spring Rolls and Steamed Dim Sum, we shared a Fried Crispy Skin Chicken in Ginger and Shallots and Calamari in Five Spice Sauce - both with steamed rice. The main course dishes were Chef's Specials and deserved the priority of place on the generous menu. The kitchen has cracked the art of achieving just the right degree of crispness in the calamari batter without the end product being too oily - it was a delight. Choi's is definitely worth turning off the highway if you're looking for a terrific Chinese meal and even better if you've chosen to stop the night in this pretty little town - a burg steeped in colonial history. Oh I nearly forgot, Choi's is not licensed so take your own tipple - there's a BWS just down the street. Enjoy!

After a long day of sightseeing
I felt not the need to practice my culinary skills, and so looked for an easy solution to my dilemma
I found the answer at Choi's kitchen
The food was excellent and I would visit again

Absolutely the best Chinese in Northern Tasmania. And omg the crispy chicken wings for entree are superb. Great friendly service and fresh fabulous food. It is unlicensed but have a great range of soft drinks and juice. Can not fault anything about the place. Very reasonable priced as well.

This is the best Australian Chinese cuisine restaurant I've found so far in the Launceston region. I'm new in town but this is the best I've found and that it is an hour round trip to go and pick up takeaways for me should tell you how good they are. All the dishes my sons and I have tried so far have been delicious and we are keen to try more things off the menu.we can hardly wait for a sit down meal in the restaurant itself, what a treat that will be

Great mix of tasty and well-cooked food, reasonably priced, in spotless surroundings, and delivered with a smile from lovely operators Judy and Danny. A top food option in a country town.

Based on all the reviews I was really looking forward to the fried rice and honey chicken I ordered as a take away meal. I was nothing short of really disappointed. It didn’t taste like chicken, it didn’t taste like honey. It tasted like.nothing. Only reason for 2 stars is the service was friendly.
