Cherry Top Accommodation reviews
11 11/10 without a doubt. Definitely check them out if you’re heading down to Launnie and doing a few days there. A very cute home/farm stay where you can clearly see the starts in the night sky on a non-cloudy night. (See pictures for reference — coincidence that we stayed there on the winter solstice and cloud cover was only 6% that night hence we got a real treat!)
Despite being a 180° flip from the usual bustling city life, my partner and I LOVED IT!? Can be a bit cold in the bathroom as it’s situated downstairs beside the entrance, so do shower before sunset.
Do take their offer of breakfast in the morning. Lesley and John will take great care of you with their simple yet delicious eggs and toast. If you’re lucky, and the weather has been good, they also offer home-harvested honey for your toppings. We couldn’t finish the generous amount of honey shared during bfast, and we found it a waste to leave it behind, so we had Lesley pack the leftovers in a container for the road to our next location… you might also just be lucky to get some local fruits as a treat ;)
We then did their farm tour after brekkie - would recommend bringing wellingtons because uhm a farm being a farm… organic matter is found everywhere which is lovely in that way where you know there’s nothing artificial added.
Won’t spoil your experience too much. Spend (at least) a night with them to understand the pleasant stay we had. ️ Thank you Lesley and John for sharing your place with us, we absolutely loved it.
Recently stayed in this beautiful part of Tassie! The perfect place to take a breath, unwind, pop some local wine and take in the hillside surrounds and sunsets. The owners are so friendly and happy to accommodate. Highly recommend!
John and Lesley are beautiful, hospitable, and caring people who provide a holiday experience that is truly unique. In a world of hotel chains and bustling cities, Cherry Top stands out for its genuinely modelled and creative articulation of the host's alternative and sustainable values. It's simultaneously a 'getaway' experience, a place where you can show your kids where their food comes from, and an opportunity to learn innovative practices for thinking globally and acting locally. As cyclists on a tour of Tasmania, John and Lesley were thoughtful about our needs and they helped us adjust our bike route to avoid traffic. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
This is a really welcoming and wonderful place to stay. Lesley and John have thought of everything.
Very friendly owners, eco-friendly house, quiet and tranquil environment and yet close to Launceston CBD, Bridestowe Lavender Estate, Harvest Farm markets and Hillwood Berries. The house was well equipped with cooking equipment and utensils and washing machine. Very eco-friendly, solar-powered, included rain water tank and compost bin. Leslie was so generous and kind and gifted us some of her produce when we arrived. We enjoyed their farm tour and lend a hand activities, which included feeding geese and chicken and picking apples and peaches. Absolutely love their honey, beautiful flavour. Would love to come here again when I visit Launceston!
We enjoyed our stay on their grounds with our camper van. We had a fun experience at breakfast rolling our own oats and having a good conversation with John.
Would recommend a stay to anyone who's heading this way and wants a nice spot to stay for the night. Very reasonably priced compared to other sites we have stayed at.
Complete peace and quiet at night too.
Thanks for your hospitality!
A truely wonderful visit. Our beautiful hostess showed us around her farm, explaining all to us and the kiddies as we went and lots of littlw tatstes too. Definitely worth a visit
We loved Cherrytop farm - the hosts were wonderful and warm. Our family, especially my daughter, loved the farm walk and the dinner and breakfast. We had a wonderful time! Thanks!
Good and recommended accommodation with spacious room for family trip with all the cooking utensils and washing machine
Situated in the picturesque township of Lilydale, the Cherry Top BnB is an excellent base camp for forays to Launceston and beyond. If your itinerary allows, you have to try John's cooking.
