Change Overnight

Great, well equipped apartment in Launceston CBD. Suggestion to management: please invest in better soundproofing to block out the Launceston clock tower that chimes loudly every 15 minutes throughout the night.

What I like
1) The hotel is located in city centre and within walking distance to eating places and groceries.
2) We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment which was quite spacious. However, the bedrooms were located upstairs and it wasn’t easy to carry the luggages up, so we basically had to leave them in the living room and walk up and down to take our stuff.

What I didn’t like
1) the dark interior makes it rather creepy
2) the access code worked the first round but malfunctioned on the 2nd time we tried to enter the main door. Had it not being for another family who could enter via the car park access, we would have been stranded out in the cold evening.
3) there are coffee capsules and tea bags provided but no mugs to use for hot drinks
4) there is a washing machine but no washing powder
5) there is a dishwasher but no dishwashing powder
6) the kitchen is not well equipped enough - there should at least be basic cooking essentials, eg cooking oil, salt and pepper. We had to buy a bottle of cooking oil and leave it behind.
7) the rooms do not have air conditioning. Rather the aircon is located outside the common corridor and we had to leave our doors open when we sleep.
8) the hot water disappeared halfway into the showers

Stayed for 3 nights, great having keyless entry, manager responded immediately by phone with my enquiry during the stay. Easy walk to Launceston attractions including city park, cataract gorge and Boags also close to nice cafes and restaurants

My husband and I loved the location - walked to restaurants, therefore the family driver was able to imbibe. Car parking was arranged onsite through the helpful contact person. Loved the philosophy of Change Overnight and enjoyed the newcomer to Australia stories in the books provided. Great stay.

Fantastic place to stay. Central location, spotlessly clean, super comfortable beds and very trendy bathrooms. We lived the original artwork on the walls and the on trend decor. It was a sanctuary after our busy days sightseeing!

Great hotel concept! Clear instructions and comms leading up to our stay and everything was as well expected. Room was set up as requested, car parking organised and hotel had a great modern vibe. Rooms were basic, spacious and had everything we needed for our short stay. Would definitely recommend.

Great rooms and the open area was great for everyone to hang out in.

Only key concern was heating/cooling. We stayed in the three bedroom apartment and there was one split system in the main living area. All the rooms had fans.
Little space heaters in the bedrooms would have made a difference for the cold Launceston nights.

I love the concept of this hotel but could have been executed much better. The whole place looks straight out of a Kmart catalogue. There was not one mirror in any of the rooms, no fans and the bathroom was so dark and dingy. I would have much rather the place be furnished with second hand/renovated second hand pieces if they want to make a “change” rather than cheap and ugly furniture.
There was excessive amounts of excess space, random rooms and crevices that were out of a horror movie.
The biggest issue we had was trying to get in, this place was like Fort Knox, and not in a good way, absolutely ridiculous. We arrived at the same time as several other guest who all couldn’t get it. It was a complete joke!
I will say it was very clean and I would stay again but please don’t stay you’re trying to make a change.

Change overnight is definitely a change from a regular hotel. There is no reception so everything is managed remotely with a number and it’s not always easy to get on to somebody for issues to be resolved quickly. The biggest negative when we got into our room, was it had a distinct smell of old smoke trying to be covered with another scent. Someone had obviously been smoking in the room and the hotel had simply tried to cover the smell for the next guests. The throw on the bed and cushions smelt like smoke, leading into question the true cleanliness and care of this hotel to not even take these out of the room. Apparently there were no other rooms we could move to and when I got to speak to someone, they were very apologetic and offered a free bottle of wine and a scented candle. This did not help the smell in the room. I hope they will fix the room before they book someone else in it but I doubt it. Rooms were big and otherwise tidy but a smelly room and dirty throws and cushions left us feeling uncomfortable especially during a time when Covid safe practices and cleaniness should be a priority.

Lovely rooms, love not having a key! The hotel has parking which is a plus but the carpark was very tight. I’d probably just park in the public parking next door for a similar price (not undercover though like the hotels is). We stayed in the split level one bed. Didn’t except it to be an apartment with a full kitchen and laundry! Loved every minute of staying here!

Absolutely well serviced apartments. Stay here as a group of 30 which was fantastic. Close to the town walking distance to many restaurants & cafes. I can't wait to stay here again next year. The pictures was my view from the balcony.

Absolutely love the concept of helping others. Room was spotless and had everything we needed. Could have done with a shelf and some hooks in the bathroom. Loved our 3 nights here. Slept beautifully

Great apartments with a positive wonderful ethos. Clean, spacious and modern. Could do with block out blinds that go to the edge of the window and a jug to put water in the fridge.

Very nice.not perfect.don't let the building fool you. The rooms are wonderful. The faults are in lack of hanging space and floor only for our suitcase but a small price to pay in return for the most perfect bed and large bathroom. Won't please everyone but we can't afford the Hilton.

Room was large and functional but the decor is maybe not for everyone, location is ok, thought it was a bit expensive for what you got (no onsite staff, the communication wasn't great)

This is a special post as we are scheduled to stay at Change Overnight in the New Years, however our trip has unfortunately been pulled due to the recent Sydney COVID situation and sudden border closure between NSW and TAS.

Although it was disappointing to cancel our Tasmania trip and not staying at this gorgeous accomodation, Melissa, the property contact has responded very fast and offered a full refund for our booking even though our booking has passed the refund date.

The speed of her communication and professionalism is a true reflection on the hotel, it’s owners and the management team.

We are really grateful despite our trip being cancelled and hope to visit when the situation is under control.

Great place to stay, large rooms, neat and tidy close to everything and amazing well chosen decor.

If 3 persons, avoid booking the studio (though booking app may allow to book), as seating and existing bed size is not sufficient.
Carry bottled water.

From booking to checkout the team at CO were super responsive and easy to communicate with. I had some changes due to arriving in TAS and departing with covid restrictions and they were very accommodating. Clean apartments and finally a place with proper cooking equipment and sharp knives! Quiet spot and great location with super nice views. Only good things to say
