Captain Cook Holiday Park reviews
39 Stayed for six nights, what a magic place.
I wouldn’t read the negative reviews as there is nothing negative about this place or the owners.
For a angry man (as mentioned is some reviews) Scott is one of the nicest blokes I have met in a long time.
Always stopped for a chat and to give advice on where to go fishing.
If we could give ten stars we would.
Just would like to say thank you to Scott and kerry for a fantastic holiday, we will be back.
Overall a great experience. Check in was easy and smooth. The lady provided us with some general info such as where our site was located. General areas such as the toilets and camp kitchen were kept neat and clean. The beach is a stones throw away and easily accessible.
Our phone reception (we are with Telstra) wasn’t fantastic however a short walk to the beach soon fixed the issue.
The only downfall in our opinion was needing to pay for the showers on top of paying for the site. Not bad for us being a party of two but we wouldn’t like to be a big family paying for multiple showers each day.
Stayed in a villa during the winter season, super friendly front desk and immaculate room. Had to really put the heat pump as the interior was really cold (they left the windows open before we arrived). Had a beautiful vista to the beach with a nice deck. Close to the fluted cape walk, Adventure Bay Community Centre. Great pressure on the shower with really hot water. Nice to have a coffee machine and milk catered for us and to have our own kitchen in the villa.
Didn't meet the owners of the holiday park.
Beautiful little cabin each one has a name (discovery) was ours bunk beds so the daughter was super excited when she saw it, the simple pleasures right. Great value and wheel chair accessible.
Great location right near the beach, short drive to many activities and locations and within walking distance to a general store. Showers are fantastic and cheap, shared kitchen and lounge area is a nice addition for campers.
Beautiful place and beach, but for other things it's expensive for what it is, we need to pay to take a shower, the installation are vintage, and reception it's really rude.
Is not safe, everybody can enter at this camping.
I would not come back at this place.
Well maintained but very old toilets/showers. Charge $1/5 minute shower
Unpowered sites a long way from amenities and camped in dirt
This is great place to relax. Nice beach and very convenient location. Rooms are clean and cosy.
A dust/dirt bowl with smelly/old bathroom facilities. We booked 3 nights but stayed just one. The kids playground was good though. Everything else needs a complete overhaul.
The facilities here aren't great. The hot water went out on our second day and didn't get fixed the rest of our stay. The smell from the toilet block can get pretty bad as well. Showers are pay per use but it's only $1 for 5 mins. The custodians didn't seem happy to have guests either. The location is good, right next to the beach at Adventure Bay and there's fire pits, which is a plus.
We stayed in a cosy cabin which was dated but pretty comfortable. Excellent location right across from the beach.
This is a gem on Bruny Island, right across from the beach, clean cabins, great playground for the kids.
Loved every minute of our stay here.
Great location right near the beach, short drive to many activities and locations and within walking distance to a general store. Showers are fantastic and cheap, shared kitchen and lounge area is a nice addition for campers
I have used this facility in the month of Feb 2022 and my experience with captain cook Holiday park was very bad. The amenities they have provided was not neat and clean. I was booked a powered campervan site and the next day a power outage happen to the entire holiday park but when I asked the desk they were saying it was a planned power outage but no one informed us prior.
I won’t recommend this holiday park to any of my friends and family.
Keep going mate i reckon you can get that rating down to 3 without trying. Loved our 7 years but couldn't come at your attitude
Beautiful spot, clean amenities, terrible organizing and stuff. No one on premises during after hours. We checked in late with a tent (7pm) and wanted to leave in the morning (8am) to be able to explore. But that is considered after hours and there was no way for us to pay. Had to come back to pay.
Great location - Rude staff. Checked out early at reception and went to leave on our last morning but decided to stop at the play area for the kids to have one last play before the drive. Next minute a golf buggy flys down the dirt road where the woman (from reception. That we just spoke to.) asked if we were staying with them. Seemed like she was about to abuse us for playing on their play equipment without paying until I pointed at my car within the camp grounds. Left an unpleasant feeling for the drive home. Don't want outsiders at your park that's fine, perimeter fence it. Or politely ask if we are guest staying at the park
The location is the only good thing about this caravan park. I've been to public parks that are better presented with more amenities. Lots of discrepancies between the website and reality including the "large grassy area" of our powered site being sand only, and the "filtered spring water" actually brown water from the creek that needs to be boiled before drinking. Amenity blocks are dated and the camp kitchen is an uninviting shed with limited resources. We left early after realising the showers were an additional fee on top of the daily park fee. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
This is The worst caravan park I’ve ever stayed at first of all there was a dump left in the toilet second of all the lady behind the counter is the worst person I’ve ever met! DO NOT COME HERE!
The manager of this place is racists, pushy, aggressive and rude. If you can avoid these types of people it will be much better not to ruin your holidays.go to another campsite straight away.
