I was on hold for 20 minutes from the time I phoned to make an enquiry. This is a long time when waiting for someone to answer a simple question. I informed the receptionist I had just been on hold for 20minutes and she simply just hung up on me. I was not rude to her at all, just making her aware of what had just happened. So unprofessional and rude of her to do that! I will never go back to Cambridge Medical centre again because of that experience.

I have been a patient of this surgery for a number of years and i have always found the staff very helpful. Dr. Patel is a very caring and excellent Doctor who never tries to rush you through. I became unwell during the week and rang on Tuesday for an appointment within a matter of 2 hours i was seeing my preferred doctor with another time slot offered to me. On another occasion I had to see Dr. Martin who also was very helpful and caring. I only have praise for this surgery.

The worst Receptionist, so rude. This surgery has ONE intrest only that is extracting as much money from their patients, A phone consultation for script refill is full fee! 5 minute phone call.

Very rude receptionist. People want to see a Dr because they're unwell, they don't need to put up with a rude receptionist. No wonder it's never busy there. Maybe the Doctors need to have a good hard look at her as she is giving the practice a bad name not to mention the doctors.
She needs to go.

Reading all the bad reviews on here, I'm wondering if I've just been phenomenally lucky.but my experience has been consistently excellent.

Dr Martin has been a real treasure. When I had a bad ear infection, he gave me a script and said he'd call me after a couple of days to see if it was working, and increase the dose if not.and he did ring me, and he did change the script - sending it straight to my chemist so I didn't need to do anything other than pick it up. He's been excellent in every way.

I genuinely can't fault the practice. My experience has been so contrary to the views expressed on here that it's really quite jarring. I can only assume that service varies from doctor to doctor - in which case, I highly recommend trying Dr Martin.

There is one receptionist there that is really rude when I spoke to HER. Asked a question, got very rude & bulnt answer then abruptly hung up on me before I had finished thlking. Would be better if I didn't have to deal with HER. She needs to go.

It is two years since I posted a one star review for this practice. I would have hoped that it would never be necessary to re-visit this process. My wife suffers quite severe chronic arthritis and takes several medications to help keep the pain manageable. She rang the surgery Monday morning to ask if Dr Noor could phone her to provide a regular script for one of these medications requiring six tablets daily. The receptionist, Abby abruptly told her the doctor would ring her on Wednesday and abruptly terminated the call.
After ringing the surgery, my wife realised she only had enough tablets until Tuesday night, leaving her without them for twenty four hours, assuming the doctor would ring Wednesday afternoon. My wife rang the surgery again at nine this morning (Tuesday). The same receptionist, Abby, answered the phone. My wife tried to tell her she needed a script to be supplied today, as she only had enough until tonight. My wife would have spoken to any doctor who would ring, and authorise the script to be faxed to the pharmacy, but the cold response from the receptionist, Abby was that Dr Noor would ring her tomorrow, Wednesday. Then she slammed the phone down - metaphorically, at least, because there was a loud sudden clunk as the call was cut off. The vast majority of reviews for this surgery are one or sometimes two stars. About time they lifted their game. Erica is usually pleasant on the phone, and Mia is lovely as well. Pity my wife had to strike Abby twice in a row.

Staff are rude, Drs are very unhelpful, especially ones that don't speak English for the older generation that cannot understand them. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS SURGERY!

This medical practice has done nothing but go downhill! I have been a patient since they opened and there are never enough drs, their phone service is appalling, ive tried to get through to them on a number of times and its taken 2plus hours just to do so. If you wake up of a morning and need a dr appointment dont bother calling them cos they are usually booked out for the entire week if not longer. Im moving to another practice with my daughter, worst medical practice i have ever been apart of. Would not recommend based on their availability! Records are not kept properly. Both my daughter and myself had medical information missing from our files that should have been there.

Even though Web says they are open Saturday. It's wrong drove there and it's closed. Star rating is only for that. Staff are lovely

I paid a bill for $90 cash nearly a year ago and then I was told by Cambridge Park Medical Centre that I hadn't paid the bill. A staff member remembers me being there talking about the bill but as I could not find my receipt I was told I had to pay the bill again. My advice is never pay cash for any services from this medical center. I say this with a heavy heart as I was at this surgery for nearly 20 years. I was basically called a liar. When I went to pay the bill under protest I was met with an unsympathetic staff who couldn't manage to give me a proper receipt until I went back 3 times to get one. One staff member did call me to say that the thousand dollars still owing wasn't money I owed the surgery there was some kind of mistake. Poor effort.

I just received a text from Tasmania Collection Service for $30 from Cambridge Medical Center.
At no point did the medical centre call, text or email me an outstanding bill when they have all 3 of these contact details (proof of this is that they've obviously passed them onto TCS)
If I owe them $30 I would simply pay it.
Very professional business you got yourselves there folks.

My son and I have been patients of this practice for several years and before that at Richmond, we have always had great caring doctors and are now patients of Dr Patel and I have nothing but good to say about her professionally she is kind and caring and takes the time with her patients and is very thorough. I have waited an hour or so for appointments but this doesn't worry me too much as I know Shasta has a lot of older patients and she take her time with them. The receptionists seem to be copping a bit of flack but considering the amount of patients that go through this practice daily I'd say they do a good job. My only complaint is with the fee policy changes and not bulk billing healthcare card holders, my son Is a uni student and type 1 diabetic and needs to have a great doctor, which he did have in Dr Patel but he unfortunately cannot afford the $92 visit fee, so we will have to find a practice that bulk bills or even partially like some practices I have rang, its all about the money and unfortunately Medicare means nothing these days. So where do the less rich of us get medical services?

I have been a patient of this practice for over 10 years and highly recommend them.
I have been witness, on several occasions,   where an emergency has taken place and have been amazed at not only the professionalism but the courtesy of staff. I have also been a recipient of this when my own emergency has taken place.
Yes there can be wait times, after all it is a doctor's practice. I'm happy to wait knowing that someone is in need and their needs are being met.
I have also seen staff verbally abused, in some instances over the smallest of issues. Staff handle these situations with care.
I have found the overall support I receive from all staff - Administration, Nurse and Doctors, to be outstanding.

I rang in today to ask for information in regards to my son's vaccination. The receptionist was very helpful and transferred me to the nurse, and she explained the process very thoroughly. The nurse then took the initiative to ring Public Health to find out more. I really appreciated the effort. The people I had spoken to were courteous and professional, and I was given an appointment with no issues at all. My family has been attending this practice for a while and I find them very helpful and understanding. The doctors are very experienced and staff members as well.

Since the practice has reopened the waiting room I have sadly witnessed the older lady with a name badge saying Erica.who is the practice manager treating patients terribly. I personally have been waiting for the younger receptionists to serve me to avoid her conversations. On my last exit from the practice I heard a conversation she was having with an older gentleman who was showing signs of discomfort with her prattle about the RSL When he finally was able to start to leave she watched him go, even though he was in a wheelchair, she made no attempt to assist him out with opening the front door (another patient helped) and nor did she attempt to answer the phones that were ringing
Very poor. The doctors I have seen there have been wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable and they try the best they can do to help.

Very good service, I must say, all staff are friendly and efficient I really cannot fault anything about this Practice, I appreciate all the medical treatment provided by the Doctors and in particular would like to thank the Reception staff who are always very busy but will always serve me with a smile on their faces. Quite fed up with people not appreciating the efforts that these hard working people put in to making our lives easier especially in this current environment with the scare of COVID 19 amongst us.

Son 1 was vaccinated, information was not passed to the government, lost family tax benefit. Huge pain to sort out.

Son 2 was vaccinated, information was not passed to the government, lost family tax benefit again. Huge pain to sort out again.

Never went back, never will again.

I have been reluctant to post a review as my wife, Tessa and I have been blessed to have knowledgeable caring doctors previously at Richmond Medical Centre since 2008, and thankfully we still have Dr Patel at Cambridge when we are fortunate to be able to see her.
I note with some lack of surprise that 15 of the 20 previous reviews give just one star.
The phone wait time is appalling. The continuing requirement to ring the surgery on arrival and wait in the car or outside seems unwarranted, when walk-ins are allowed at both Sorell surgeries.
Several weeks ago, I arrived before time, rang the normal surgery number, waited for 10 minutes, then hung up. Rang again to be told because I was over five minutes late, would have to re-book.
I rang the next day, told I had to ring the number on the door on arrival. Why couldn’t they just tell me the number on the phone?
My wife saw one of the male doctors recently. He refused to give her a regular script of cream for our seven year old grandson’s eczema. She left the surgery in tears, and by the time she reached the pharmacy in Sorell, she was stammering, being so upset.
This same doctor refused to give me a script for tablets for my balance problem, a regular script. I rang today to ask if Dr Patel could fax through a script to the pharmacy. Was told in a very rude and belligerent tone by the female receptionist, cutting me off several times that the policy has changed. Dr Patel away til next week. Angrily cutting me off abruptly asking if I wanted to make an appointment.
This review is long. Not all receptionists here are so rude, but this woman upset me no end, my wife and I being in less than ideal health, and carrying a lot of family- related stress.

They were running 1.5 hours behind before we even got to appointment time and only had 1 doctor working the 1st day of the new year. My little boy was sick and we went here out of sheer desparation as our normal doctor was fully booked. I called our normal doctor 3 times during the wait and literally begged for an appointment. We ended up walking out. They were that far behind with no acknowledgement of wait times. Luckily my little boy came right after a trip to the chemist for some gastro medicine. This used to be our local doctor all the time. Now I remember why We left.
