Bluestone Bar & Kitchen reviews
40Incredible food and service, so much flavour, thats all i have to say and also loved the desert
Been waiting to come here, I should have waited a lot longer. My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday dinner and it was extremely underwhelming the entree menu is completely seafood except 2 very average sounding vegetarians meals (heaven forbid someone has a seafood allergy) so no entree for me. The bread sticks came out with hummus, yuck! The main meals once again mainly seafood with only pasta steak or duck as mains so I had to get the duck, it came out board line cold with ha get this a bag of mixed lettuce cooked (mush) and Asparagus steams no ends absolutely gross. And the waitress didn’t come over and ask if the mains were ok so couldn’t even complain. Oh and we sat at 6: 55 and left at 7: 50.1 hour and we have all our meals what on earth. The waitress asked as how our meals were and I said exactly what I just said and all she said was sorry we have new chefs. No offer of a discount or talk to owner. Very very disappointed in the whole experience.
Ordered a plate of sides for breakfast with smashed avo, mushrooms, bacon and eggs. I got a very disappointing serve of food and avocado dip. The meals were very undersized and over an hour wait. Coffee was nice! We came around 6 months ago and it was great, something's changed and not for for the better unfortunately
Great place to get breakfast, modern and warm inside - had the eggs Benedict with a latte, tasted amazing. Would happily return
Great location with friendly staff. The coffee is good and the breakfast menu is worth mentioning. Recommend the breakfast noodle soup
It's very hard to rate this restaurant - the western food was superb & deserved a 5; whereas, the Asian food was very interesting & didn't taste authentic or very nice. I would go back to the restaurant but avoid any Asian dishes, in particular the nasi lemak, noodle soup or banh mi.
The service was great, friendly & very accommodating staff
Excellent service and wonderful food in a comfortable modern atmosphere. Good coffee too. Highly recommended.
We had several slices of Asia. Great food at a reasonable price. Great setting and in your hotel.
Recently had the privilege of discovering this place. Indeed an asset for Launceston CBD. Food stunning, tasty and well presented. Staff attentative. Ambience perfect. A must visit after 5pm.
Highly Highly Recommend this restaurant!
With an authentic South East Asian menu, their Head Chef Chau designs her menus with presentation and quality top of mind

Some of the amazing dishes we had were;
Yogurt Panna cotta with dried fruit and oats
Grilled Prawns with a fresh Asian salad.
Grilled sugar cane pork skewers sweet chilli sauce, fresh herbs
Tasmanian Angus beef steak chef's jus sauce, iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber
Chicken & ham hock terrine pickled mustard greens, baby leek, crostini
Crispy spring rolls chicken, coriander & lime leaf with lettuce, fresh herbs & nam jim
Sashimi market fish compressed watermelon, Tasmanian Shima wasabi, ginger, soy
Green chicken curry, okra, baby eggplant, lime leaf with steamed jasmine rice
Baked chocolate mousse, honeycomb, vanilla ice cream
Filo cigars dried fruits & nuts, pistachio custard, vanilla ice cream
Enjoyed a perfectly made Old Fashioned using makers mark whiskey with the meal.
Their bar is stocked perfectly for cocktails, whiskey, gins and beer. If you are in Launceston, this place is a definite visit.
Service was slow and the food was very average. Had the big breakfast and every part of it was lacking in flavour. Looking back at reviews from a year ago it looks like the quality and attention to detail have dropped significantly in the past year or so. Real shame because the restaurant itself has a nice feeling
I agree with other reviewers that the staff are definitely the standouts in this restaurant. They were attentive, friendly and knew the menu well. The food was enjoyable, doubly so with the Accor plus card. The atmosphere was also quite ambient
The most delicious red curry I have had for a very long time. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Would definitely recommend
Service was good, wasn't impressed with the very small menu with no particular cuisine.
But the food was tasty and presented well
We thoroughly enjoyed eating there. Outstanding location, food, service - everything you could want. The vibe was friendly and relaxed, just perfect after a day of sight-seeing in Launceston.
Didn't order any beverages, just food. Had a chicken burger, with the chicken grilled. The burger was the best I have ever eaten, my lunch companion said the same. The chicken was devine, so tender and jucy. The buns and salad were fresh, and the dressing had a zing. Been back twice. Served with excellent chips and a range of dipping sauces. Excellent service.
Friendly staff but food was awful for the price tag.
$50 for 12 not that fresh oysters (love the nam jhim dressing though), tough and chewy $55 eye fillet steak, $45 fatty pork belly with hard rock skin (nearly broke a tooth there!), and burnt $15 sticky fig pudding.
I just couldn't believe they kept failing us on the food starting from beginning. I was very disappointed with the food and only ate them up because they're expensive and w didn't want to waste the food.
The 2 stars are for the friendly staff, not food.
Arrived at 11: 20 for a coffee catchup, the waitress said " your too late for breakfast " our reply " we'd like coffee please" waited 20 minutes for my cold drink to arrive. At 12 on the dot 2 female staff left. A male waiter took over. After 20 minutes I walked up to the counter and asked for menus. He took our order 10 minutes later confirming what we ordered which was the same Pork Bao Buns x 2.and another coffee.
There were 4 other people in the restaurant and 2 kitchen staff. 30 minutes later I went and asked where our lunch was. Oh replied the waiter I forgot to order it.
Yes he was too interested in friendly chit chat either colleagues.
This was a very disappointing experience. Service was shocking from start to finish. Definitely change staff or the business will suffer. I won't be going back.
Alternate drop at a function - food was inedible. You could smell the fish long before it reached the table.clearly not fresh. Went home hungry after paying $80 per head.
Superb dining experience, if you are an Accor plus member this is the place to dine in launcheston. Beautiful Queensland prawns in tamarind sauce indulges in the mouth. The mains are fascinating if you take the pork belly it will melt in the mouth and the crispiness of the crackle will pop. Sides and desert are fun to, we enjoyed it and will be back whenever we are in Launcheston.
