Blackwood Park Truffles

My wife arranged all the accommodation for our trip so I had no idea what to expect when we arrived.

Shane greeted us as we drove into the cottages to get the keys for the truffle house.

Although tired from the days driving he was extremely friendly, informative and interesting to speak with so it was nearly an hour until we went to look at the farmhouse.

Once we got to the farmhouse any expectations I had were blown away.

The scenery was amazing!

The farmhouse was immaculate. The fire had dry wood stacked ready to go so we had a nice fire going within minutes.

In the kitchen was fresh milk, bacon, eggs, butter and juice all locally produced if not from their farm. Cereals were also provided.

It was the most comfortable and relaxed I have ever felt in accommodation.

I met Shane's dad one morning who told me of some great local walks with amazing views. He was correct they were amazing.

On our last day it was raining however when we went to return the keys I got into another long conversation with Shane.

Before we knew it our son was offered the opportunity to feed the chickens and also the new born sheep they were raising by hand.

As a 7 year old boy he absolutely loved it. We rounded up some other sheep that had come through a fence and before we knew it another 4 amazing hours had gone by.

I cannot recommend this accommodation enough and it is worthy of more than 5 stars in my opinion.

My only complaint is we didn't stay long enough!

Great stay. Visited in the winter truffle season so received a little unofficial tour of the property and had a chance to dig some of my own truffles which was great fun. Highly recommend.

Stayed in the little self-contained cottage, which was an absolute delight. Views from every window of the truffle trees & dams. We will definitely be back.
