Blackwood Park Cottages reviews
24Ariel cottage and the Blackwood Park Family farm is just about one of the most beautiful places we've stayed in Tassie (we're locals too so that's saying a lot)! The amazing view of the Central Plateau from the deck of Ariel Cottage, as well as the hot tub is worth every penny. Make sure you take in the opportunity to check out their Truffle farm and go Truffle hunting as well for a truly unique Tassie experience.
Cosy functional, warm cabins. In a great location for site seeing. The farm itself is gorgeous.
Great property with beautiful views.really nice. Used our hot tub a lot and central to so many treks, towns and things to see. Cooking facilities are included and other than pub food was important with Woolies only half hour drive away.
Im not suprised by all the 5 star reviews. Could not fault at all. Great location if you want to get away from life for abit. Great service, lovely accommodation they have thought about it all. And very clean. I will definitely be back everyone should treat themselves to a night or two here. The owners should be proud of themselves.
This place is pure heaven! The hospitality of our hosts was honest and genuine. I always rate the thought that goes into making you feel like there’s nothing to think about or look for to feel like your home. From napkins on the breakfast bench to coming back from a days trip to find Shane has loaded up your fire wood box and with lots of kindling to get it started again quickly. (Especially for us Queenslanders) And finally… on the chase for snow we are so appreciative of Shane’s wife giving us the local advice on where to go… Wow! Devils Gullet only 40min up the road didn’t disappoint! Untouched nature at its best. Thanks guys
Stayed with a group for 3 nights in the Pioneer and Hobbit cottages, both cottages were fantastic and we loved the fire places, fresh breakfast produce and privacy in the accommodation. The farm feel with touch of luxury was really nice. There were tonnes of small touches to the accommodation that made our stay great!
We stayed in Ariel cottage. Absolutely stunning with all the essentials - spa, fireplace, breakfast, view, modern amenities, very clean, great shower, comfy bed and soft linen! 800m from the start of a beautiful national park walk (see last image). We don’t want to leave!
It was like a dream world to stay in the cottage. It was so nice! While we came only for 3 days we were excited to extend our stay just for staying in the cottage and were glad the additional days were booked for us. It is a memory to cherish now with the scenic surroundings, with the very beautiful interiors of the cottage and the chimney. All facilities provided suited us well. The breakfast was great with the very tasty farm fresh eggs from their own farm. I never tasted that good eggs in Australia
Thanks for everything Shane! Appreciate the service!
Absolutely spectacular. Stayed in the Pioneer Cottage in Feb 2022. Bed is soft and cosy, and the modern amenities of a renovated bathroom and kitchen juxtaposed with rustic floor boards and wooden slat roofing was so cool. Our host was knowledgeable about the location and gave us information about the cottage's history. He also provided us with eggs from his chickens, as well as thick cut bacon, jam, churned butter, bread and apple juice from surrounding farms. So DELICIOUS! Never tasted butter or apple juice that fresh and delicious before.
We had free reign to wander around the property as we pleased, meeting alpacas, ducks, dogs, sheep, chickens and even turkeys along the way. It was so cool to feed the alpacas in the morning!
Mole Creek is all of 5 minutes away, and Alum Falls (a great forest walk) is at the bottom of the street. Truly had an amazing time. Thank you.
Beautiful cottage. Stayed at heritage cottage for my honeymoon and it was so worth it! Beautiful cozy place and wish I could go back!
We stayed for 2 nights in Ariel Cottage. It was wonderful. Spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation, lovely views, delicious breakfast provisions. Such welcoming owners. We were very sorry to leave. Great walking in the area
Had a lovely stay for 2 nights in December - beautiful views and very peaceful. The cottage was very clean - highly recommend!
Very nice clean comfortable cottage and gardens with local produce for breakfast. Very friendly and kmowledgeable owners.
We stayed in an Ariel cottage, and we absolutely loved our stay! Didn't want to leave! Everything was perfect, quiet place, the hot tub was a must, very hot with a very cold weather, just perfect.
Firewood, champagne, hot tub, Netflix what else?
Bed was comfy as well, and of course loved the visit of the 2 cheeky dogs, Otto and Macca!
Thank you for everything:)
We stayed at the Old Oak Cottage in July 2021.
The cottage is situated on a truffle farm just outside the township of Mole Creek.
The house was clean and comfortable. Once we got the fire going we were warm and cosy.
Our hosts were delightful, we were surprised by breakfast of local bacon and eggs, plus more being provided. We would highly recommend!
Amazing stay at Blackwood. We stayed in the Ariel cottage and while it is a newly built cottage the owners have done a great job matching the older feel of the area while adding some modern features. Loved the fireplace while looking out at the amazing view.
Couldn't rate this high enough. My wife has already done an extensive review on this location. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and just loved the amazing accommodation in a beautiful setting. Sitting in a hot tub with the clear skies and then going in next to a wood log fire to have a fantastic cheese platter from local suppliers. The photos really don't do this place any justice!
We stayed in the Pioneer Cottage for our 41st Wedding Anniversary.it used to be a store room when Everything you need is there, Mole Creek 2 min drive down the road.
Absolutely perfect. Quiet, peaceful. All provisions provided for a nice cooked breakfast. Home made Jams, bread. Fresh eggs and locally sourced bacon I can easily recommend this place as we will do it again in one of the other cottages.
Really cute place. Lovely fresh baked bread and tasty jams. The owner showed us around and told us the history of our cottage (the pioneer cottage). It was a nice stay, would recommend
Blackwood Park is the Tasmanian farm of your daydreams - set in rolling green hills with sheep and llamas wandering about, birds wheeling overhead, a handsome chook shed and a beautiful vegetable cottage garden near the formal garden
The pioneer cottage is a beautiful bolthole, open fireplace, sturdy bed, original floor boards, with a sweet little kitchen so well equipped. The breakfast goods included how baked bread by Yuko, farm eggs, local bacon, milk, jam, butter and juice and there’s good coffee and tea. We sprung for the cheese and wine board, thoughtfully chosen by Sean, and it was amazing - still thinking about the Brie with the seam of local truffle. Wish we’d stayed more than one night and planned some of the day walks.
