Beach Retreat Tourist Park reviews
19 Great location gardens and lawns.
Pity they don't spend the money on the amenities. Amenities are outdated, one toilet working in the mens, two showers, and you have to be 5ft 5" to fit under the shower head. BBQ is not functioning. No wifi. Laundry burnt down, and they have had a lot of trouble with the water supply. Not allowed to park your car on lawn area. One skip bin for your rubbish. Not happy, especially when it wasn't reflected in the price. It looks like this has been, on going for a long time.

This is a great place to park up for a few days and take in Wynyard and its surrounds. There is an easy 5 minute board walk into town. You are right on the beach. Very clean, quiet and friendly.
The grounds were so well maintained and the location was awesome. Plenty of grassed area around us and so close to the boardwalk and foreshore for a swim. We weren’t crammed in. A welcoming host, would highly recommend.
Nice things first:
* It's close to the beach with great access points throughout the campsites.
* It's close to town and the main shops
* Pet friendly
* Power and water available for campers
* Check in was easy and the lady was friendly.
* Nice gardens and grass
* Concrete area for campsites, cars parked on road with plenty of room to move around still.
Less nice:
* No laundry
* Rusted things in bathroom
* Not all bathroom lights worked
* Only one shower worked in the ladies. Two showers were locked. Of the two showers available, one didn't have a real showerhead and it did not have hot water. The one shower with a showerhead needed a good clean, it was green, and the light above it doesn't work. When I showered the water didn't go down the drain either, just sat pooled at my feet.
* Toilets didn't all have lids
* Lights are rusted, some dont work and there's bugs in the covers.
* No paper towels in the mens bathroom
If I'm paying $20 per adult (so $40 per night), I'd expect all toilets to have lids, bathroom lights to be clean, showers that work, the ability to dry my hands after I wash them and the option to wash my clothes in a coin operated laundry on site. I didn't find the amenities we were provided justify the cost we paid to stay here.
Had a short stay at this caravan park last week. The park is ideally situated on the beach and could be really nice and at $40 per night we expected much more. It however is neglected and badly run. The facilities are very average and that's being kind, and don't even supply paper towels or a dryer for your hands. The safety fire hose is hidden in amounts weeds. The clothes lines are pathetic and the people who run the park a very rude. Wouldn't stay there again if they paid me.
Booked for 4 nights, stayed 3! Very run-down, uncared for, dirty amenities, and the only thing going for it under current so-called, 'management ' is the location. Would not recommend.
2 adults in run down cabin cost $140.00 a night. Views great, cabins unclean and in need of refurbishment. Nice area adjacent.
A fantastic place to camp! Great ammenities, right on the beach and a warm, friendly host. Loved staying here and will be back.
A beautiful clean, tidy and picturesque park, close to the beach, shops and amazing walks. Lovely friendly staff. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay.
Don’t come here. They don’t want you. They’ve just received approval for the development of the site into 28 town houses that will ruin the foreshore. Wynyard is turning into a dreadful attempt at being the Gold Coast.
35 a night a bit high the lady at reception couldn't do enough for us the showers need an upgrade old but otherwise good spot right on beach 10 min walk into town
A little disappointed the cabin was over priced no heating or fan in bathroom very musky oder not comphy at all would not recomd or go back
Very pricey, was charged $105 to share a site with people already staying for 3 nights. Didn't require power or running water.toilets are average but clean. Probably wouldn't have minded if the Lady negotiated on price seeing as we were sharing a site and they had already paid. It's saving grace is that shops are walking distance and good fishing is 100m away!
My husband & I stayed there in a beautifully appointed Cabin 2 nights earlier this year & we were very much impressed with our welcome, accommodation, price & complete surroundings. Well done!
Fantastic very clean cabins.
Amaculate Park
Best place we stayed in the North of Tasmania
Thoroughly recommended
Close to town
We have stayed here for a week and we found that the man who owns the park was rude and not helpful. Toilets were outdated and tired.
North West Tasmania accommodation at Beach Retreat in Wynyard is run by true professionals. They were very helpful, provided some information on great local tourist spots to visit and on Easter Sunday, we awoke to find the Easter Bunny had left us some chocolate gifts!
The accommodation was spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. Location is scenic as it's right next to the beach. Also handy as shopping is only a few minutes walk, less by car.
Absolutely lovely stay and would recommend without hesitation.
Would never recommend this place. The owner is such a rude man. My partner and I was on our way to book 2 nights and didn't even make it to reception just because we was riding bicycles. I work in tourism and will recommend the other tourist park in Wynyard.
Nice park; clean toilets etc; close to pebble beach not great for swimming; camp owners need to do something about neighbors cat who seems to live in camp and is a pest to dogs; really not dog friendly when a cat is walking around all the time also the onsite permanent residents should be told not to walk through everyone camp area very annoying.
