Banjo's Bakery Cafe reviews
20 When i entered i asked about how experienced their barista was, after a bad experience with very over extracted coffee at devonport banjos i was hesitant, i was assured that they had a very experienced barista, and i was not disappointed, my coffee was perfect however i was also told that if the coffee wasn't excellent i was encouraged to bring it back however as i said it was perfect.i have given 4 stars for the food as i ordered a cape grim beef and mushroom pie which was very good however the beef tasted a bit strange, it's texture was more similar to lamb's fry, it still tasted very good but the texture was strange
As for the 3 stars for the atmosphere it was quite loud as it was reasonably busy, probably due to the excellent coffee and reasonably good food
As for recommendations, i can easily recommend their iced mocha, iced chai, traditional sausage rolls and their cauliflower and cheese pie, i can also recommend their cape grim beef and mushroom pie for those don't have issues with texture
For people with dietary requirements:
The iced mocha came with whipped cream (with a dusting of chocolate powder), ice and 4 shots of espresso if you don't customize it.
Edited to add:
The toilets are well maintained, gender neutral, single stall, one of which is also a parent room and they have both paper towels and hand dryer options
The pastry on the pies and sausage rolls was absolutely beautiful, my hubby said the best party pie ever! So sauce required and put sauce on almost everything. Absolutely delicious coffee was great as well.
9am on a public holiday and the staff are banging out amazing, friendly service! Great experience! Great coffee!
The food seems nice and the coffee is okay but the noise level is unreal. Blasting music to cover the other noise means you can't hear yourself think, let alone have a conversation.
Disapointing. May not be back. Music too loud not suitable (pop/rock) background music. What happened to customer service?
Had lunch at Banjo's. Great coffee and tasty mushroom pie. Toasted avo n cheese sandwich also good. Lovely staff and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
Mask not being worn properly by coffee making staff member. Nose out!
I feel like cleaning the cup and lid of coffee as she has breathed over it unmasked.
Food is lovely.
Today's experience was a refreshing experience as compared to the past visits there. But then again thought that the staff had changed. Of note the food presentation and quality is consistent and essentially the service takes the experience to a higher level.
Stopped in for a quick lunch and wasn’t disappointed! I tried the lasagne pie and it was to die for! I loved it so much I haven’t stopped raving about it!
Another great scallop pie and coffee.a big thanks to Jake & Peta and all the friendly staff great pie’s. I think I’m addicted to the scallop pie Mmmmmmm thanks!
I went to Latrobe banjos and wasn't very pleased the food was greasy and some of the staff where pretty rude this was the only store where I was made to eat with my hands and without a plate
We ordered the double cheese burger pies and they were absolutely disappointing, way to much pickle, way to much mustard that it burnt my throat trying to eat it. I highly do NOT recommend trying these unless you want to feel sick after the first bite!
This places makes the best coffee sweet treats friendly service dining in or takeaway. Clean spaced out tables and the food tantalising. Staff eager to please each and every customer, show great work ethics. Wheelchair access, out front curb side parking. Ask about their coffee club card
Always been very satisfied with banjos products and customer service until today. Called into the Latrobe branch on my way home. Asked for a toastie and coffee (sign advertising this on the counter) to be told by an upstart staff member (blonde hair and man bun) we don't do those after 10.30am. I said well the sign should state that or not be up.in a rude tone. I will turn the sign around if it pleases you.
No apology
No pleasantness Won't be going back to banjos latrobe
Please be advised.the other stores are professional and staff pleasant and courteous.and to my knowledge they don't advertise things that are not available
Omg how dirty is this place so out dated so filthy service stinks i could not stand to buy anything left feeling like i needed a wash.
Pleasant food and coffee.but the orange chairs in need for a good clean.does not look very appealing.
Just had the best sausage roll I’ve had for years - it gets busy here but worth the line up. Lots of fresh bread rolls and doughs as well.
I showed up and received only the biggest smiles from the staff and not to mention the best lunch I've had in years, sausage rolls are to die for thank u banjos Latrobe
Coffee was Hot and Great but the mini Hawian
Pizza was disgusting, something to do with the
the Tomato Paste, the Sausage roll was not Good Either, but the Spud Pie was Good.
But at these prices it should be all good.
Well what a shock after arriving at 4.20 pm and asking for a toasted sandwich to be told the toaster is off and has been cleaned and can't be turned on again today "It's Policy". What poor service. Great location and option nice staff. Rule that are customer unfriendly turn People away
