Apex Caravan Park reviews
26 4 weeks in Tassie, stayed there our first and last night! Seen 4 penguins beside our camp and Whales in the sea!
Our favourite park!
Very nice park with clean, well maintained amenities. Fantastic location with penguins close by. Recommend staying there especially in the area furthest away from the office. Staff very professional and friendly. Will definately stay there again. Thanks for an enjoyable stay. Cheers William
Amazing campground, right on the ocean, penguins come up onto the beach at night, great facilities, friendly owners. Highly recommend.
Great park with terrific managers. We are in a new smaller area at the end of picnic point. Awesome new amenities and large grass sites
Location is nice, expect a few trains during the night. Unfortunately you can hear them coming and going a fair way as the train horns echo through the coast crossings.
Fantastic park with new facilities, great views next to beach. You may even see a penguin.
Friendly staff and the beach front is a disgrace to the community all because of government rules that don't allow anyone to clean up the dead wood on the foreshore.
Great camp kitchen! The views at Picnic Point are amazing. Met one of the new managers and he was so friendly.
Website says 40$ per night, previous comments mention 30$. Yet got charged 50$.
I guess Tamara doesn't like one of the following:
- foreigners
- $30 powered sites
- Large grass covered sites
- Amazing views
- Nice admin
- New clean ammenities block/camp kitchen/laundry
- No pets BECAUSE THERE’S PENGUINS!
What more could you possibly want?
Couldn't ask for more on the beach. We went to see the local penguins and they didn't disappoint. We had penguins around our tent. Our site was right next to the beach and had the most beautiful views. Very clean amenities block.
Spacious sites with amazing views. Very modern and spotless amenities plus helpful obliging staff members.
This park has been our absolute favourite in our Tassie travels! Donna’s welcoming customer service was amazing. Beautiful site with ocean views and sparkling clean amenities. We booked for one night and stayed for three. A fantastic place to base yourself for day trips in the area. We loved seeing the penguins at night. Sally provided some great advice for the rest of our journey. Such lovely people. Highly recommend!
I love this Park and Managers are amazing be sad to see them go plus I am permanent resident now so it's home for me
One of the best caravan parks I've stayed at. Picnic Point Rd site - Great views, modern facilities and so clean and well kept. Friendly owners. Powered site 38 was a definite winner.
My partner and i stayed here and it is by far the best caravan park we've stayed at, extremely tidy, very cute, friendly helpful staff, amenities were perfect and how can you beat a 7 minute shower for $1. We will both definetly be back to camp there.
This caravan park has easily been a highlight of our time in Tasmania. We stayed at Picnic point which is a beautiful spot overlooking the beach. The facilities are all new, clean and very much well maintained. This is a really great spot to relax for a few days or as a base to explore the surrounding area. Sally and the other staff are so friendly and very helpful. 10/10 would recommend for anyone passing through. We will definitely be back soon.
We have stayed here now 4 times in both main park and picnic point, both are great areas.
Main park is probably more spread out and certainly great for group bookings. All sites are big flat and grassy. Access to two amenities blocks, camp kitchen and BBQ. Access to the beach and bike paths.
Penguins can be seen and heard every night from October to April.
Picnic point is more closed in. Still a great spot with all sites around a new amenities block also containing a camp kit hen and BBQ area.
Access to beaches here as well.
No dogs allowed at each park because of the penguins.
Lovely campsite where the powered sites back right up onto the beach.
Showers cost $1 for hot water (you can get a coin from reception) with key access to toilets and showers, which are all kept in good condition.
The kitchen has a microwave, stovetop, toaster, fridge/freezer, and kettle but you'll need to supply your own pots and cutlery. Overall we had a great stay!
