Annapurna Indian Cuisine

I’m from Melbourne, was on my vacation in Tassie. I strongly suggest to try out other restaurants on the same street (Indian culture). I’m a vegetarian and the options were not that great. We ordered Malai kofta which was very bad. It was extremely sweet. Chai and Nimbu paani was not that great as well.
Just helping out other travellers who are new to Tassie and are looking for good Indian restaurant options. This place is not suggested.

Don’t waste your time and money here. I’ve tried a few restaurants on the same street and “Indian culture” just a minute away is totally worth it. The food wasn’t good quality for the money spent.

Had the goat masala among other main courses. Goat masala was authentic and really enjoyed the naan bread too. Very happy:)

I have been a fan of Annapurna. But last night's food was awful. The Korma was far too sweet. The Roti was stodge. Won't be going back.

Right in Newtown. Convenient location. Ordered spicy but was a bit spicy. Has a good Thali.

We got takeaway Dosa and Lamb Rogan Josh with garlic naan. Food was delicious and service was friendly and kind! Could not recommend more highly!

Veg pulao was the worst, 60-70% of the box was filled with half cooked unsalted cauliflower & the rice was dipped in oil Pulao completely bland. Such a waste of time & money. Someone here will definitely need cooking lessons.

Worst south indian food I have had in australia. The coconut chutney felt like I was eating coconut oil and sambhar felt quite tasteless.

Another great meal at Annapurna. The lamb Rogan Josh was my pick washed down with a Kingfisher beer

Thank you to the most humble happy staff who was serving tonight around 6: 30pm, it made me life so much happier and comfortable to get tasty healthy food within 10 minutes, couldn’t have asked for more

The staff were patient with my ordering taking a while and were kind and funny the wait wasn't too long even with my large order and tye food was phenomenonal

Delicious meals. Royal servings, friendly and helpful staff with a great sense of humour.

Forgot my AirPods in the restaurant and they called me after closing time to let me pick it back up.

Only thing I don’t like is that they now charge $0.50 per food container. But that’s really splitting the finest of hairs.

Better to dine in, at least you can return the dish if it's not to your liking. If order takeaway, you can't return it if it tastes terrible. That's what I thought of mine.

I didn't enjoy my take away food at all. The meat was dry, tough & very chewy The rice was tasteless & dry & the roti was burnt. A huge disappointment. The flavour was in the mango laksa. I have been to Annapurna a couple of times & it was delicious but as for a takeaway, the meal wasn't nice.
Had l had booked a table to eat in, it would have been different bc if I'm not happy with my food, I'd have the opportunity to return. If you order takeaway, you're not going to want to get back in the car & return the food especially if you don't live close by. It's very costly to pay for food you've been hungry for, only to be annoyed & disappointed. I ended up having toast for tea & threw the food I paid for, in the bin So Annapurna deserves 2 stars from me.

Annapurna is the best Indian restaurant so far in Hobart! Excellent top notch place would highly recommend friends and families to visit. Presentation was creative. Atmosphere is chill and cool. My experience was unmatched with staff members truly welcoming/ charming vibes with excellent customer service. Food is absolutely amazing and mouth watering. Chicken Biriyani, Nan bread, dal and panner curry is fabulous. Food reasonably priced. Worth the wait with temp and taste is spot on. Highly recommend and worth it! Would say that one of the top notch Indian restaurant in Hobart. Definitely going back again with my mates. Thank you Annapurna.

Great food value and service. Had the vegetarian banquet and the quantity of food for the price was excellent.

The BEST and TASTIEST Indian I have ever had.

We ordered the Bombay Prawns, butter chicken, garlic naan and mango Lassi.

The flavours in all the food was phenomenal and didn’t leave us feeling “heavy” afterwards like other Indian food I’ve had.

Sorry to say but your dosa is the worst dosa i ever had in my life. This was my second time eating dosa in anapurna first one was also bad but i tried again thinking that first there might be some mistake but this time it was worse. The sambar was not a sambar it was peeli daal seriously. And masala in dosa was neither masala it was looking and tasted like aalu di sabji. O have to eat it all because i was hungry since morning. Moreover it was 18.50 dollars on menu and i was charged 22.50 dollars. If u don’t sell dosa much u shouldn’t replace sambar with peeli daal to complete the order. Just a suggestion please remove dosa from your menu your other food is good but totally disappointed 2nd time as well.

We dined in and ordered two different naans, two curry dishes, two entrees and drinks for 5 ppl and all the food came out in under 15 minutes it was incredible! Not only was the food on our table quick- it tasted fresh and delicious! We couldn’t believe the speediness and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly would highly recommend this place!

Annapurna is the best Indian restaurant till now. The food is so tasty and authentic all the time. The staff is friendly and service is so quick. The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place to everyone for dinner or lunch.
