Alpenrose Bistro & Bar reviews
39 Service for the price is actually fantastic.
First time in a while, but I met everybody. That’s extremely nice and friendly, and very on top of taking care of the client.
Unexpectedly, I found out the food to be very good compared to what I saw another reviews.
I enjoyed the time.
And as it turns out, there is a cherry gin, sour that’s made here. It’s not on the menu that is over the top insane!
Had an amazing lunch! Very delicious food, good prices and lovely service from happy staff:) Best meal I’ve had in Tasmania so far!
Firstly, the waiter was difficult to understand. The meals were generous but we found the kids meal to be lacking. Especially for $15. The parmi crumb was too crunchy to eat. Beef burger excellent. $8.50 for a bowl of icecream?
Just brought the family here for a little look around. Stopped in for a meal, certainly wasn’t the best. Chicken snitz was burnt to a crisp, I could barley cut it. Steak sandwich was still raw on the ends and a little chewy. Onions rings were the only good thing. Very disappointed we went here for lunch
Can't recommend this restaurant enough the food was awesome the service was great. The staff were attentive & the meals were out swiftly. Frankie our waitress was super friendly will definitely be back
Happy! New Year to all the Wonderful staff at Alpenrose Bistro A very big Thank You to all of you for the delicious Christmas lunch. The spread was so beautifully presented, and to the Wonderful creative Chefs, you thought of everything with all the trimmings of lovely apricot stuffing balls that paired so well with the turkey. I am a condiment girl, so I was so happy to see so many condiments on the big tray. The cheesecake was divine! I had the raspberry coulis one. Your local baked salmon with the delicious! Hollandaise sauce was the pick of the bunch for me it melted in my mouth and went so well with the cauliflower & broccoli dish. If i lived in Tamar Valley, I would be definately! A regular! Thank You to all of you as a team for making our Christmas special. The table looked beautiful with the silver Reindeer, and the view out to the lake from our window seats was so relaxing. You all put so much into making it such a special day. Thank You all again so very much.
We stopped here for dinner during the week and enjoyed a nice meal. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.
I have never been able to not eat a meal out at a restaurant before but was not able to eat either mine or my husbands meal here. I ordered the beef gnocchi - came out smelling so bad I had a hard time trying it (think dog food smell) and the taste matched the smell. The meat was chewy and it was in a gravy type sauce or something with no seasoning and not a mushroom in sight (must have been pureed if there). Nothing like the slow cooked red wine mushroom description on the menu. My husband also struggled to eat it. I swapped with him and tried to eat his chicken parmi only to be met with the biggest chunk of gristle in a piece of meat ive ever seen. Turned me off the meal and all I could eat was a few chips that were on the side. Very disappointing given we can only afford to eat out once every few months and wasted it on somewhere that I couldnt even eat the food.
Not too bad. Food came out fast and I mean fast. Manager on seemed over bearing and rude to staff. Staff were lovely, genuine and on edge. Strange vibe.
Good service but average food. Not priced well for what we received. My partner had the Schnitzel and said it was fine. I had the braised beef and gnocchi and was disappointed. Beef was dry and sauce wasn’t very nice. The gnocchi was alright. At 80 dollars for two mains and two entrées, I expected more.
My family of 7 dined here last night. With a last minute reservation. The food was great. The staff were friendly and accomodating even with uncivilised little two year old
Junior servers were very capable and knew what they were doing which is great to see. Great job guys!
Below average, over priced food unfortunately not very good. Such a shame as the village and setting have so much potential
Worst experience ever. Yes it’s a tourist destination and you don’t expect people to complain or even return but honestly the food was not worth paying for or even eating. Burger patty was dry, overdone and fell apart, chips stale and cold. When we told the staff about this they were rude and condescending. Do not recommend.
Terrible experience, bad food, long waits. Should've known from how empty it was despite tons of people walking around the area.
One of the worst meals I have had put before me!? Two of us went for lunch& both ordered chicken snitzel with a sauce of our choice. Sauce was overpriced for the amount we got. Both chickens were burnt, overcooked, dry & stringy. I couldnt eat mine, so told the waitress, that I was going to take it home to my dog as I just couldn't cut it She just smiled, no apology or offer of a replacement & said I will get you a take away box for your dog.
The staff went above and beyond and where very friendly. This is the 3rd time I have stayed and dined several times over the years. The quality of the food is quite disappointing compared to what it used to be. The portion sizes are quite smaller and overcooked and dry. The cocktails where advertised at $10 and charged at $18 when we paid the bill. Overall I will be looking for another venue to stay and dine at based on the food quality and prices. Quite disappointing compared to what it used to be. 3 stars at best
Dined in with 6 guests including 3 young children. The adult meals were of good pub meal standard. My parmi was crispy but still very nice. At first the portion sizes appeared underwhelming but once I finished they proved to be ample. The other adults were happy with their meals and the kids meals were well received. The service was fast and although some staff appeared to be new they still provided great service. The establishment was clean and cosy on a cold night.
Menu needs a change, been the same for years, had the steak was ok but all half cold, chips half cold, sauce half cold and very slow drink service, better off going to the bar and get your own. Very Disappointing
Ordered the chorizo linguine which had no flavour and my partner ordered the schnitzel which he had to leave as it wasn’t cooked through,
Lovely, lovely restaurant. Beautiful ambience with stunning wooden decor and stunning views of the lake. Yummy food. Lovely staff and the best coffee in the tamar valley. 5 star all the way:)
