Awesome little shop with a big variety of art tools and paints. The owner and employee are friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful.
I advise finding a park on the main street.

Hobart does not have a better art supplies store. The quality of the selection outshines all other competitors, and its existence as a non chain store is fantastic. Prices are reasonable, good considering the options in Australia. The personal nature of the store is fantastic too!

Went there for Indian ink.was recommended this one but we couldn't read the Japanese.turned out when I tried it out at home it is not water proof. Wanted waterproof Indian ink. Moral.if we can't read the label.

I had a good suprise today.went to Ad Art art shop in North Hobart. It had a lot of products, reasonable prices, and very helpful staff. The quality of their products was good, and i would definetly shop there again. It was a wicked shop.

When I went there some years ago, the middle aged woman working behind the counter was quite
opinionated, outspoken, and a know it all about one of my paintings, when I mentioned it. I assume if she ever had to admit a mistake or error, her self image would shatter like a cheap mirror!

A very exciting discovery for me. A little shop hidden from the road full of art supplies. I even discovered most of the items required for hard cover book binding. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Not the biggest variety but out of the mid city rush, in a funky courtyard and had friendly staff.
They had the biggerst paintbrush I've ever seen.

Adart is by far the best art supply store in Tasmania, with an excellent product selection and helpful, friendly staff who know their stuff.

Some time ago I went in to this shop requiring something to use as a stencil glue. A Sunday School teacher type woman lectured me in front of a customer, and accused me of ripping off an artist with what I planned to do. She was red in the face, it was embarrassing. Fortunately for her because I was sympathetic towards the other (woman) customer she avoided a dressing down by me. I will never shop there again.
