Zayt & Zaatar - est 2016 - (West Lakes)

Our sixth visit to try the new summer menu. Unlike our previous experiences, tonight can be best be described as disappointing. Given that it was a new menu, I can excuse the inexperience and knowledge of the menu items but you can't excuse the timings of the meals given that 2 mains came out and a 15 minute wait ensued for the last main to arrive. This resulted in a cold meal for some so that we could all eat together. The new lamb mishwi presentation has been simplified and the usual accompaniments have disappeared. Two hanging skewers of queationable size with chips is all you can expect. That meal use to be plentiful and come with salad and lebanese bread and then some. The new grilled prawns (6 of) were dry and shrivelled, and accompanied with carbs plus more carbs. Rice and potatoes. Why? The rather expensive steak could use a side of garlic sauce or at least offered and the potatoes were under cooked. On the plus side, the brocholini was tasty. In all, not our best experience in what is usually a great night out. Tonight however, we could not get out quick enough.
