Yen Linh Croydon reviews
66 Service was very good, fast and friendly.
Prices were very reasonable, the only thing that could have been better was the 3 bean ice drink. This was lacking in the amount of ingredients and flavour but was still enjoyable. I would still not hesitate to visit for an enjoyable meal.
This was my favourite Vietnamese eatery years ago, came here nearly every week for many years, brought visitors here, and recommended to many people.
But eating here again after a few years away, I had a bowl of pho dac biet (beef pho combination) and was left disappointed.
The broth is still good but nothing else is. The rare beef fillet is not at all rare but totally overcooked, dry and tasteless. The beef brisket is completely tasteless, extremely dry and tough.
Could it be that their std has dropped, or perhaps I have had so much pho at so many of the new and not so new Vietnamese eateries that I have become discerning and spoilt?
And I am surprised that they continue to charge money for a glass of tap water when none of the other Vietnamese eateries do so anymore.
Pho and Vietnamese ice coffee. An awesome combination.
The soup was flavourful and the quantity in the regular size Pho was good.
The Vietnamese ice coffee is full bodied and gives you a nice afternoon pick up.
Price is more than I would expect, but it does not sour my experience as the staff were friendly.
My second visit and it is as good as my first. Full of flavours, don’t let the colour of the broth fool you, it is extremely good. Great service and restaurant is air conditioned too. Drove quite a distance to get here but not regretting one bit. Highly recommended!
Food was okay, on par with other viet places in the area, but the customer service was SO off putting, I felt rushed out of the place (even at not peak time), and the staff were super cold and were hard to communicate with.
Love the pho. But egg noodles with crispy chicken is heaven.
Update: egg noodles soup is a bit sweet to me. Love the pork soup base!
I love this place. Its a shame they close so early now.
Great food and the service is brilliant I love the ladies who work here they are the best
I love how fresh the ingredients are. My go to is the Chicken Pho. I love it! So clean and fresh and staff are always smiling. They do a kids size chicken pho too which is great and the kids love it.
Not as good as I expected. The size of the normal and the large combination beef noodle is far smaller than Khang’s noodles. Or add on noodle $3 and beef $5, still smaller and expensive. Surcharge for everything, extra chilly, extra vegetables. Surcharge for pay pass. The environment inside just narrow and limited to 30 min per table, not sure what’s going on to push customer out.
5 stars for the food with 2 caveats:
1. A 30min limit at the table (with a large sign on the front door). To be considered if you’re planning on having a long meal
2. Staff would also constantly “chase” you asking if you are ready to order.
There are other alternatives just around the corner for a longer meal eg Hoang Gia (limited parking) and Q Viet (limited tables).
Yen Linh is one of those hidden gems in Adelaide. Not far out of the city even by public transport, the meals are authentic and generous and I recommend it highly if you enjoy noodles.
We ordered beef rice noodle soup and seafood rice noodle soup. The food was very delicious so we had a square meal.
I felt that I did a good job visiting this place.
Thank you:)
Great pho, com tam and bbh! Can reserve a table ahead if you have a gathering. Does take away and accepts eftpos. No split bills accepted. Always very busy. Must go to a staff member if you need anything as they are that busy and don't have time to check up on you after ordering. Good can't out quickly for our party of 13
Foods compare to price, not worth it. Our family really don’t like this place cos we did not experience any good service there.
This I would imagine is about as Chinese as Chinese gets when it comes to food. Which was absolutely fantastic. If you are thinking traditional Australian chinese restaurant, Think again. We had fried dumplings (delish). Sweet n Sour Pork ribs (delish). Chinese brocolli in garlic (hard to go wrong here). However our favourite dish was apparently a snack dish. I requested to try as I had seen a Chinese couple dipping some thinly sliced meat into this dish. It was a cold laksa type dish with noodles tofu and had a vinegary taste combined with coconut and coriander. Was certainly the stand out dish. I have to apologize for not taking more notice the name of this dish.
The decor of the restaurant is completely simple, yet homely. No need to dress to the nines here. This is without a doubt as casual as you get. I would check hours of operation. As we were there on a Friday evening and the closed sign was turned at around 8pm.
As a big fan of pho, I would give it 4/5 in taste, 3/5 in price and size. But the beef satay is only 2/5.
One big thumbs up for it though, the food is served in less than 5 mins.
The absolute BEST Pho in town - actually everything is good, all food and a huge menu with so many options - Excellent staff and customer service - I have been going here for years - Love it
Ordered a beef noodle soup, wait for 30 minutes and get nothing. Waste my break time, didn't get food. Very poor service, will not come again.
This used to be a really good restaurant. My friends and family always used to come here at least 3 times a week either for lunch or dinner.
The food has been really lacking in flavour and quality. Even the quantity of portions has decreased in size.
Really disappointing.
Fresh and tasty Viet dishes but the carpark is a bit of a pain and it's not quite as good as the city one was for ambience. It's still one of the better Viet places in Adelaide and above NNQ imo.
