Yakitori Takumi reviews
60Go, enjoy, it brilliant, it’s authentic I know I been to Japan (mind numigly beautiful country), it real, it’s not cheap it’s not expensive it’s perfect and if you can go wild spend 50 bucks on 300 ml of saki it’s art not booze.
It's a shame the food is lacking here. Friendly staff with good service and a chill atmosphere which suited after work drinks, but have to agree with negative comments posted before- small serves and over priced with disappointing flavours, we paid $75 pp and as a group we needed to continue to another restaurant to complete dinner
This tiny little place does Japanese BBQ. Lots of little tapas type share plates. We asked for them to keep bringing out different dishes for us to try. Everything was delicious but it was definitely over priced. Staff were lovely and helpful. Huge menu of Sake. Very small place so bookings are a must.
Far too expensive for what we had, 5 dishes which were like an entree, the rice wine was OK but Charlie the guy who served us didn’t tell us honestly what we were to pay - very disappointing $200 was way over what we thought
Love this place! The food is amazing,
I recommend trying the tempura mushrooms, the green tea salt which they use is fantastic.
They also have an extensive Sake menu which is a nice treat on a Friday night.
It’s a small intimate dining space with a few booths so It can be hard to get bigger bookings, I recommend booking a week in advance at least.
The most friendly and authentic Japanese dining experience I've found outside Japan. Staff who go out of their way to make you feel like family, Eddie is the perfect host, and the food is to die for. Try the Ika (grilled squid) and discover how seafood should really taste. A grateful two-thumbs-up to Sayaka-sama and the rest of the excellent, courteous staff who go the proverbial extra mile. Gochiso sama deshita!
Delicious fresh quality as always
very flavourful vegan options #oshigotoGambatte
すばらしい!
An authentic little getaway, the yakitori are fantastic and so is the service. I also like the cozy layout with tables as well as a counter around the open part of the kitchen. I've been looking for places like this ever since traveling Japan.
Food was extremely overpriced. Waitress always come to push you to order more. Will not come back.
Had a wonderful dinner here tonight. A real Japanese cuisine experience. Friendly professional staff and great food and the best Japanese whisky I have tasted
Not worth the money.
Everything is double in price with basic taste, average execution, slow unfriendly service and poor quality ingredients.
We stop taking photo after the first few dishes because of disappointment. We did ordered special dish of the day which is stuffed chicken wing. We got 3 small wings with the prize of 24AUD. If the taste is fantastic, we can’t complain but the taste is super average. Other dishes are average as well with the shocking price.
Please take this comment into consideration before making reservation. After paying 129.50 AUD for two people here, we had to go to another japanese restaurant to fill our belly cause it’s still significantly empty.
However, this is our opinion, other customers my be luckier or less picky.
I can’t believe we hadn’t heard about Takumi before now. Dined with friends and ate seriously amazing Yakitori and learnt a few things along the way. All our dishes had the most amazing flavours, we argued whether we could quietly lick the plates Wonderful hosts and lovely attentive staff. Can’t wait to dine at Takumi again.
Thanks for a wonderful evening.
A chilled Japanese bbq skewers restaurant. Came on a very busy Friday dinner service. The yakitori was above average, some were delicious like the chicken meatballs but some were not so.
Staffs were very friendly and service was relatively quick given how busy they were.
A good place to catch up with friends, have some drinks and skewers.
You can't beat this restaurant, it's my absolute favourite. Food is exquisite with wonderful flavour - all beautifully presented. Cosy atmosphere, incredible staff and brilliant service. It's a small, intimate place and very popular so can be a bit noisy, but after a couple of drinks you won't notice it! Fabulous place, I love it.
Staff were very nice at all time, been here for few time if we are craving for Japanese food. Many of Japanese wine to choose, recommend the yuzu wine, so good to pair with skewers.
Authentic izakaya with good food and wonderful people. Always enjoy dining there! Thank you Eddie and team!
Love this little piece of Japan. Atmosphere is great with food to match. Staff are really friendly.
When you think of artisans, what country would first pop into your mind? Japan of course! Takumi yakitori or 'artisan yakitori' lives up to its name. Initially you may be surprised at the portion size and price, but this is how yakitori should be. Eddie's and his team's food is all about bringing out the best flavor of each dish; the photos just do not do it justice. Whether its lightly seasoned with salt as with the Wagyu, succulent pieces of baby squid dipped in sweet yakitori sauce with a touch of spice or the perfectly cooked fatty flame seared salmon topped with lightly seasoned radish, complexity and depth of flavor exceeds most "high end" restaurants. To be honest, the friendly atmosphere, lively staff and great service all contribute to Takumi being one of the best restaurants in Australia. As a foodie, this is a must must must try if you are in Adelaide. P. S book in advance as it can be packed!
Tasting Australia night - Eddie you and your staff were amazing the 15 course yakitori and Saki degustion menu was brilliant and a true introduction / education into Saki - can’t wait to come back
Do not recommend if you don’t have 2 hours waiting for some snacks that won’t fill your tummy and will cost you about $100/person.
It took them 2 hours to serve a few tiny tiny dishes, it took way to long, could’ve finished everything within 45min max, instead we were just siting there waiting for about 20min per tiny dish.
If you can not take that many customers please set up less tables.the price is not worth the service at all. Also the food seemed really average after we ran out of patience.
Big disappointment. Sorry we will not go back again.
