Woodville Town Hall reviews
27Even though it's a lovely place, sadly the amenities are lacking? Bar facilities, ridiculously high prices and not even a decent selection for late night shows.should consider catering? Also not enough Ladies Toilets?
Piss poor excuse for 'management' with heaps of seating issues every time we see a show there, often needing to wait over an hour to be seated despite getting there at least 30 mins prior to doors time, shows often run an hour overtime, and disabled people are made to trapse around for over an hour when they can hardly stand, climb stairs unassisted, wait in long lines and aren't offered seating or proper assistance.
A big beautiful hall. Have plenty of sitting organisation. Good food arrange option. Easy access to entry/ toilet/ hall. Theatre room it self is big and well decorated and has capacity to hold a big gathering. Lighting accessories are good too. Has parking facilities
Have never been here before.
Didn't realise how old the venue was.
Very quaint and a lot of history
I've seen several shows here. Good revue and nice atmosphere. Enjoyed a pink gin & tonic while watching the show.
Considering there was a Fringe show on there, the ridiculous amount of roadworks was a joke!
Don't mind having to park a street or two away but trying to get to the Hall itself?
I slipped twice, sand, dirt and rubbish everywhere. Recently having surgery on my ankle and needing to be extra careful just trying to WALK there.
That was a disgrace. Well thought out Council.
Road works out the front at present did make it a bit difficult to drive to find parking as we attended a Fringe event, inside the town hall was lovely Art Deco style (I think) finishes, the lighting/chandelier style was lovely, our show we attended was fun but a bit long? Plus the bar facilities while quick to serve was a "cash only" facility which was fine but we didn't know that prior to the show?
Good supermarket only problem is never enough check outs open and some shoppers walk out.it is has been a problem for some time.
Has scarcely changed since I went there in 1964 to see Hamlet as a film in year 11. It has a certain old world charm.
Absolutely a beautiful old hall. Such character and charm. Great amenities. Perfect for quiz nights and shows or weddings. Easy parking. Loved it.
Venue is beautiful, stunning historic building.
The musical act we came to see was excellent, seating was not what we were expecting (rows), but good (cabaret tables), a nice surprise.
Very limited non alcoholic options at bar. Not even lemonade or juice.
Some signs, Some organisation would be good, as it’s not clear, where you’re meant to go. No box office, (to go and ask).
Very clean place.
Great venue. The sound setup and the lighting was good.
The view is obstructed I'm the first row on the top so avoid that and you will be fine
My wife performs with Choo Lala here and I've been to the shows, lovely place packs alot of people and has a nice great interior, facilities definitely helpful but I think it wouldn't hurt to put more in especially for show nights!
Woodville Town Hall is an ideal location for performances, dances, fairs, meetings, movie evenings and a wide variety of functions. The sound and lighting equipment are amazing as well. The sittings areas are very spacious and well maintained. Above all, there’s a lot of space for car parking behind the town hall. What more could anyone ask for?
Went here the other night as my partner was in a performance. The building is amazing it has alot of history.the wood work and stone work in it is amazing compared to today's eye sore buildings
Went to see a friend perform at one of Choolala's Burlesque events held at this venue. Located on a busy road, this is a beautiful old building. The foyer and the lobby bring back memories of days gone by. As the seating space in front of the stage was fully occupied, the only available space was upstairs in the dress circle. There are some very comfortable lounges at the front but when using these the view of the stage is impeded due to the railings in front of you (another reviewer has also made note of this). Choosing a seat further on up seemed to be a much better option as it offered a more enhanced view of the stage. The ornate ceiling and the atmosphere of place takes you back in time. There were a few seats that were in 'dire straits' and in need of repair. As there were two shows on that evening, the theatre had to be vacated quickly so that patrons who were there for the next show could be seated. This seemed to be a smooth experience for the patrons which means that the design of the place is well thought out. Even though there were plenty of people milling around in the lobby, the exits were clearly marked and there was no jostling around. There is a car park at the rear of the building which is easily accessible via two side streets.
Absolutely love performing here. Great facilites and gorgeous old building that has been preserved beautifully.
We had rehearsal for our Choolala's Showgirl experience as part of the Adelaide Fringe. A great venue.
Been there for many occasions, but last night was especially good. Friends of ours celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary after exchanging their wedding vows again.
Amazing staff, lovely hall, renovated since the last time I was there new seating very comfortable.
