Played here in January and the course was immaculate. It's like an oasis with surrounding red dirt and salt bush. Would highly recommend to all driving though Whyalla.

1/10/21 UPDATE
Our second trip north - same itinerary as a couple of years ago.
A 3 day golfing trip from our homes in Adelaide driving to and playing Whyalla Golf Club on a Friday, then playing Port Augusta Golf Club Saturday morning, then off to Copperclub Golf Club at Port Hughes Saturday afternoon then playing Clare Sunday morning and finally onto Balaklava Sunday afternoon. All courses have WATERED FAIRWAYS AND GREENS.
We had a fantastic time and can highly recommend this as a great “short” golfing holiday.

The course was in very good condition. Fairways in particular were very good. The tiered undulating greens provided us with challenges. Please read my previous review.

Whyalla Golf Club is like a green “oasis” surrounded by a semi arid saltbush setting. The course is “long” with some excellent holes. I particularly liked the par3 9th hole and the par5 16th hole. All the greens are undulating with many having 2 to 3 tiers. The greens were in excellent condition with ball rolling beautifully. Most of the fairways have “dog legs” requiring good ball position when teeing off.
We met David the head groundskeeper during the game. We congratulated him on the condition of the course, in particular, the greens. He acknowledged the “volunteer” help he has to maintain the course in its great condition. Well done to everyone.all members should be proud of their course. We were made to feel welcome by everyone we spoke to. Add Whyalla Golf Course to your bucket list of courses play in Country S. A.

Great course lovely place for an avent but they need a lift for people who are in wheelchairs or use Walkers then I would give it 5 stars
